You are wrong again. If Farrar wins the election, he like all other elected officials in Tennessee will have to register with the Tennessee Ethics Commission in Nashville. They will ask what election he won and then to make sure there is no conflict of interest he will have to give them in detail where and how he makes his money with the names of the company or companies and their location. This includes all forms of income regardless of how small. This Ethics Commission after their investigation will determine if there is a conflict of interest and will then act on it if necessary. This has nothing to do with any lawyer he may have spoken to and this Commission is set up by the Tennessee General Assembly for the sole purpose of making sure there is no conflict of interest. The same thing will happen to Binghan or Williams if they win. Its the Law. Again this will only happen if he win the election and has any form of income. This will then go on the state web site and anyone with a name and location can look this information up. It is public. You can check on anyone elected in a office here in Tennessee, city, county or state. Tennessee Ethics Commission of the state web site. Also there is no slander here, just trying to tell you what has to happen if you are elected to an office in Tennessee. I will say the council or court doesn't have anything to do with this.
Finally someone who knows what they are talking about and can present facts. What a breath of fresh air.

<quoted text>yes there is a conflict. If he is mayor and head of all city depts. one of which is the police dept. If the city police arrest someone and farrars bonding company posts his bond for money then it is a conflict of interest. Was told if elected it will be brought up in court and the council.
That can easily be corrected by transfer of business name if in fact it's in his name only. I'm unclear of how a bondsman is hired but I assumed that one is selected by the person who has been incarcerated. If that's the isn't the case please advise me. Thank you.

I believe what is being stated but don't really know is that if the Lewisburg Police department is arresting people who have to be bonded out of jail and if Farrar is elected Mayor of Lewisburg and they chose his business to get bonded out then that is a conflict of interest. He is making money in his private life from the police department making arrests while he is mayor of lewisburg even though he is not doing the arresting. Anyway the Tennessee Ethics Commission will make that ruling if he wins the election. Check out their web site, all elected officials in Marshall county and Lewisburg are on it.

Problems, problems, problems. No wonder the folks with any sense are picking Jim B. or Bill W..

The other guy is some sort of sideshow with what looks like, no leadership abilities. Everything that could be done evil to Lewisburg has already been done and can not be undone.

I am sure all three mayor contenders will try their best to ensure no more evil is done but Bill W. is the only one with enough business sense to bring Lewisburg industry who will hire you. They will be people not "from around here" and they won't give a rats butt who your daddy is.

Please folks, for our city, this time let's elect fresh blood with no ties, vote for Bill W.

We only have one chance to do this right. Don't vote out of hatred like someone stated in another thread and have a guy who is a big question mark.... Vote smartly and know Bill W. will serve us well, I do.

I hope Williams wins. The other guys may just be in it for their own good. Farrar seems to have too many personal agendas in mind to think clearly and bring this city back to where it was when we had industry and everyone just got along. If he won, my bet is nothing would ever get done, because he would lead with emotion too busy trying to get back at certain individuals for his own good, instead of trying to move forward and bring jobs to the people. I think Williams main concern is jobs, the square will always do what the square wants to do. If the people grow with bringing additional jobs here, the square will take care of itself. Besides the square can only grow so big because where are all these people going to park??? We need jobs and Williams knows how to talk to folks. Jim B is a nice guy too but not too much of a leader and Mike F, well I am sure he is a nice guy but he has too many irons in the fire and his way of communicating to those who need to hear us is, let's just say, is questionable at best. Williams is a man of few words, but when he does speak, it is worth listening to. Besides, I want a better job for my family and I think Williams is the only one who is truly focused on that.
thank you

please vote Bill Williams.....JB has ties with some realtor and they too.... have personal agendas....called control of the city...interested in letting the taxpayers hold the bag.....they all got upset when the council said if one is going to build a subdivision ...it is up to the realtors and their partners to pave the roads for the subdivisions...not the taxpayers...after all, they are the ones raking in the money for the building od the houses....but yet....want the taxpayers to pay and have the streets paved the they nade for building of the subdivisions....so they can keep their money in their pocket....

If you all think he really wanted the job your crazy, he did what he set out to do!
Has anyone even seen him out working the election in over a week now?

You may be right. If I was him, I would be afraid of the new question that would be fired my way. Questions which will bring his issues out front could be damaging.

People can sit back and say what they what to about this election but when all is said and done, more than likely Jim Bingham will be elected Mayor and I for one am not oppossed to it. Bingham has served this community on a volunteer basis in many ways for many years, has a successful business here in Lewisburg, member of the Lions and Rotary Clubs, member of the Church of Christ. All these things added together, Jim Bingham will be your next Mayor of Lewisburg.

I am sure Jim is a good guy if you can sit him down for 3 minutes to talk about things. I spoke with him and walked away a bit confused, not really accomplishing anything, just getting the runaround. I know who I am going to vote for and it won't be anyone who is working on the square. We need a real leader.

looks like you were right. He is our mayor and with his deciding vote, our water rates are now going up. Guess we should have listened during the elections. Successful business here in Lewisburg, member of the Lions and Rotary Clubs, member of the Church of Christ. All these things added together, I guess he had a few favors to pay back.

I am so disappointed in him and his decision.
During his campaign I thought everything was going to be for the people, up and up and a turn for the good.
Everyone in any sort of position or power seems to be getting theirs in this case at our expense, wanting or not. Hopefully you all see what his party does. That is not what people signed up for when they voted him in. So sad.

Survival of the fittest. Listen to yourselves! You all are just as greedy. You want services without expectation of rising costs. You expect people you vote for to somehow believe everyone should get a free ride. You have what I call: unrealistic expectations. And then you whine and cry about it. You are not concerned with the why, you only see rising costs as going against your pocket book. This is a great way to cull the weaker ones from the pack.
