Is it morally wrong for second cousins to meet, fall in love, have amazing sex and want to get married? They are related by blood his granny and her granny are full blooded sisters. They never met until a couple years ago and hit it off. They considered all options and decided couldn't stand to be without each other. They are happy and feel complete but haven't told their family.
Do you Google

Geeze, I am never surprised at the number of slow people on Topix. Did you ever think to go Google your question? You can do that and even find out which states you can marry your cousin in. Tennessee happens to be one of them. But Google it just the same to get the exact details because it varies by state.

Marrying a second cousin is legal in all 50 States. The genetic material is varied enough that the fears of inbreeding are satisfactorily dispelled.

Since you're asking this I'm guessing that you are a trustworthy friend who happens to be the shoulder that this couple is leaning on. If you want to know if something is morally wrong simply ask a minister for a honest answer.

Wrong. If you want to know if something is morally wrong, ask YOURSELF. We all know right from wrong unless we have some sort of mental illness. There is no need to start pimping religion in this conversation.

As a Christian I agree with "thumbs up". Ministers are not anymore moral or honest than the next person, and morals are not "religiously" owned. Truly faithful may attempt to stick to their morals a little more out of their need to please God, but like anyone else, they can drop them at a moments notice out of convenience.

That said, from a Christian/Bible point of view, the bible does not say anything about marrying cousins. The closest is in the Jewish OT which gives a detailed list of who not to have sexual relations with and cousin is not on the list.

Historically, the Jews have never considered a cousin to be a "close relative" or too close to marry. So from a religious moral point of view, I would say it is NOT morally wrong.

If they follow their hearts and are happy then it's nobody's business.Their actions shall only be judged by one and of whom we are not.

I agree. My cousin and I are in a long term relationship. Of course people talk and call us names but we complete each other and really don't care what people say. We don't have kids together but we do from previous marriages. Our kids think we're like any other couple. The rest of the family has turned against us. We are happy together and take care of our own. I wish all love, peace and happiness.

You can't change ignorance. Just show them the law and tell 'em God says it's okay. What more could they want? Haters gonna hate!

Karma does not exist. All things happen because all actions cause a reaction. It is called science, not Karma.

I couldn't help but notice you didn't retort with some sort of statement or facts to back it up with. So I take it you agree with me, that Karma is just a word describing hopeful revenge of sorrow, not a real tangible event. I mean, good things happen to bad people all the time and bad things happen to good people. Just seems silly to tell someone, "Karma" dude! Hey, Karma to you, too!:P

1st cousin marriage is legal in Tennessee, GOOGLE it! This cultural norm comes from jolly old England and other European monarchies that didn't want "blue blood" to be mixed. The results can be horrific. Just look around......

Galatians 6
Verse 6-10
The word is Sow, not sew. This verse refers to what happens in the after life, not what occurs now. You either work for the flesh or for the Spirit (God). If you are saved, you are working for the Spirit. But what happens to us in this realm is reaction to action. That is because we live with what is called 'free will'. With or without the Spirit and being saved, if you live a good, honest life, for the most part your life will go good. That said, being saved is not any guarantee this life will be without pain or trouble. Many saved people in the world are persecuted and murdered because of their belief.

So, this verse has nothing to do with what kind of life you are having today.

Are you an Israelite? Just wondering...

This is a list of close relatives. No where in this chapter of Leviticus is the relationship of cousins mentioned. According to Jewish belief, cousins are not considered close relatives.

Actually if you read those verses the word was soweth! Not sow or sew!
Just posted that in Leviticus for consideration, as far cousins, falling in love or marrying, I personaly don't see why not?
I know a couple "first cousins" who was married together all their life had 4 or 5 children and were wonderfuly in love!
