We need someone smart and not from the area without baggage. Not being connected and having an ax to grind would be a good idea too. Locals can't see past voting for locals for fear of losing power or favors. If a totally outsider gets in the cans of worms from the past will begin to open and it may be a mess for some.
I know we have a pro-democratic party running the county but we do have one or two folks working within the city gov who can be trusted to do the right thing for the city and the people.
Till you get such a person, why not elect those who the click can't control!

Give those two, so to say outsiders a chance! They are the best you got!
You may be right that "can of worms" so to say, might be opened at the very least you could bet those two, would be watched so close and would those two dig till they found something then what would the click do?
Not anyone with power should be trusted!
That’s is what keeps America Free, and why local government has city council men and public boards!
And only till the voters give outsiders a chance, and vote for change will Lewisburg ever Change!

Lets see Bob you would vote for a noted atheist when you quote all these Bible verses all the time? Yes, he is an atheist and will not stand for a prayer in a public meeting. He is also an anarchist and will not say the pledge of allegiance to the American Flag. He has also been arrested for not identifying himself to the police when they stopped him. He is appealing his conviction on that case as we speak. I would not vote for him under any circumstance and would vote for any other candidate before I voted for him. He is not a likable person and cusses like a sailor. Ask anyone who still goes to his barber shop. Ask Rev. Leland Cardin of the Methodist Church about him and I will leave it at that. Bob he is not a good person and for you benefit again he is an atheist. Don't think you should support him but just ask around and you will find out not sure about the other man you are pulling for in the Mayor's race.

Do you really want to get into others running and elected for public office background, it could become a nasty race!
Where would the voters have to pick the devil from the witch?

Can we agree that some founding fathers might have placed their hope in the Almighty, Thomas Jefferson was not one of those!
Read up on Thomas Jefferson, was he an Atheist?

What is worse an atheist who becomes Mayor, and does what is right, stops praying at city council meeting, defends people’s constitutional rights, or a hypocritical Christian who will stand with anyone and prays in public to be seen of men, and takes away people’s constitutional rights?
Jesus Teaching on Prayer
Matthew 6
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

When Jesus, Teaching on Prayer plainly said “Go into the closet and when thou has shut the door pray to the Father who is in secret!”

Is First Amendment Right called “separation of church and state”? Maybe if more people would stop standing with the hypocrites at city council meetings, would some of those so called Christian hypocrites stop standing praying in Public, buildings, and on the street corners to be seen of men?

Why was he stopped is the question?
For should the police have the right to stop, if he had not broke the law and would you want the police to have the right to stop any person just to ask for identification?
If so could any police who, lets say a petty girl drove by and the police wanted to know her name, address and phone number then should that police have the right just stop her to ask her identification?

Should people stop standing with hypocrites or so called dictators for prayer and pledge to the flag at Public Meetings like the City Council and County Commission?

Had you people not rather have those in public office even Atheists, who like Thomas Jefferson believed in “separation of church and state” and People’s Rights?
Are Hypocritical so called Christians claiming to believe in God, attending Church regularly, yet holding public Prayer service at city council and other public meetings? Which is that not strictly against the Bible and Jesus Teachings On Prayer “Matthew 6 Verses 5-8, strictly against the Constitution “Separation of Church and State”?

Had you rather have Atheists in local public office like the likes of “Thomas Jefferson”, are so called Hypocritical Christians like the actions of some, what Lewisburg / Marshall County some might think seems to have?
From Grave Robbers to Hi-Way Robbers, from lazy public board members to 6-7 years of electric company over charges, from dead cow water, to Derogative Derivatives deals, from Dead preacher found floating in the creek, to stinking leaking dump air, did all that happen while so called Christians were in public office, standing praying before each City Council Meeting?

I am a "local", so I get a bit irritated when people think that if you're a "local" that you can't look at the credentials of candidates and make an intelligent decision. It irritates me equally when "locals" make disparaging remarks about people who were willing to make this town and county their home.

This "local" is far more interested in the candidates who are intelligent, politically conservative (but not living in the 1980's), and progressive enough to make decisions that will make Lewisburg/Marshall County a place where people want to live and raise their families. I truly hope there are people willing to run for office who will move us forward instead of sitting back and allowing this town/county to continue to stagnate and rot.

If you think all "locals" are alike, I'm truly sorry that you and I have not met. I assure you this is one "local" who has been ready for change for a lot of years!

Then get off your fat rear end and educate yourself on candidates then push for them. Why is it everyone else's job to do while you rare back in a computer chair and trash your neighbors. People like you are a dime a dozen.

They both have got to be better than what we have had for the past 12 years, maybe then those on the boards, and the rest will watch each other so close local government will work the way it support too!
A check and balance system!
Give those guys credit and a chance, what are people afraid of, you still got 4 more to check and balance, only 2 too defend and expose!
Is that what people want local Lewisburg government to change but don't want to vote for change?
If for no other reason should people vote for them both, just because of those who seem to be against them?
Do they remind some of the forefathers of America, who stood up for the unrepresented, over taxed, those whose rights are being slowly taken away by local elected officials’ self serving made up rules?
Is a vote for them, if for no other reason would show the others people don't like their made up rules?
hell..you have to be friends with them...because if you think they would be good..you can not be thinking straight..do you not realize they have a personal agenda...one would they like for the brother to be thay lawyer for the city...please give me a break...they do not even know that during a council meeting they are allowed to speak for 2-3 minutes...they think this rule is set by mayor and council...in fact..it is state regulated....so people like them can not rant and rave for 30 minutes about nothing..except..to have their voices heard and still saying NOTHING....

I feel he is not diplomatic enough, lacks any sort of reasonable class, has his own nonsense agenda which he rants and raves about dropping f bombs like they were nothing. Any sort of a debate with him would result in something less than honorable and if he ran it would be nothing more than a side show.

Do u only need to read back issues of the local papers and see? State Regulated is that the excuse u were told?

Does those so call rules only applies when the Mayor wants to use those and to those she wants to use those against?

Unless some council memeber speaks up and she shuts uup!
For can some talk for 30-40 minutes and others does the Mayor watch her watch and tries to cut those off in 3?

People ranting and raving makes for better government, public officials using self serving rules against the people makes for dictators!

it is bad when they have personal agenda...as for the mayor..the mayor does not have the power people think...and for the time allowed to speak is set by the state..not the mayor or council...it is state regulated....2 that has bad ideas are not the right vote..do not be snow balled....

One had a business venture closed or alter by the codes officer because he was not following the regulations for that business on the square. The other dealt with a bathroom issue at a restaurant on the second floor of a business he was renting and the county and state codes shut it down because it was not up to state codes for a bathroom on the second floor, also traffic tickets here in l'burg.. Other one has been thrown out of a city meeting, police called on him at a fund raiser for the LDA at Halloween, has one of the worst trash mouths that I have ever heard from anyone, and stopped by police for following to close back in December and would not identify himself to the police. He is an atheist and an anarchist. Does not believe in prayer. His brother flys an anarchist flag from his building on 2nd avenue, a renter has to fly the American flag from a neighbor's yard because he will not allow him to do it on his property even though that man is his renter. If these are not examples of what one could call a reason for an agenda then I apologize AND YOU COULD SAY THESE WERE JUST SIMPLE MISTAKES. This is the good thing about American, you have the right to decide for yourself but don't say these things did not happen because they did.

There are rules that everyone has to abide by or there is chaos. If you don't follow the rules don't blame the city. I guess you also have an answer for the reason he is no longer with the Shelbyville Police department too. Talk to Rev. Carden who preaches at the Methodist church and ask him about Ty and his brother. When the mayor says that there is to be no outburst from the audience and he continues then he is asked to leave by the police chief. There has to be rules and order. I guess you don't want neither since you have defended both but as you said you WORKED FOR HIM. Guess you are not biased are you.

He doesn’t pay me a pay check!
The truth is does the Lewisburg Mayor got rules for some and no rules for others, how plain is that to see?
Even saying to one I know of "should have taken what they gave you and keep your mouth shut!"
That’s what wrong with Lewisburg Now a few are taking what they are given and the rest are paying more than their fair share!

How is it the Mayor / city council can take 6-7 years of over charged for street lights called a "allowed called mistake" yet did the Mayor or City Council even ask if the other citizens / customers were over charged and see that those if so got their money back?
So does it seem there are rules for some yet no rules when it comes to doing Right or the Mayor and City Council?
do they just make their own rules up as they want to?
