The U.S. government posted its biggest monthly budget surplus in five years as record revenues bolster federal finances and push off a drop-dead date for the debt ceiling.

IN YOUR FACES!!! This despite the Repulicants dragging their feet on any proposal to help the debt crisis.

GO OBAMA!

Well unless they can come up with a 17 trillion dollar surplus to pay off the national debt, I am not very impressed.

Why should he have to pay for Bush's bailouts and wars for you to respect him?

It's only a start in the other direction you bonehead. Do you really expect to erase decades of bad fiscal management in one month?? If so, I understand why you are a Republicant.

http://www.memphisdailynews.com/news/2013/may... A surplus for April. Not for the year. When he runs a surplus for the year, that's what matters. Instead he has ran over a trillion short every year of the current presidency while trying to increase spending. Could it be possible that the "rebulicants" reductions of spending, and trying to limit the debt ceiling, could have helped reduce the spending deficit? The last time we had a surplus of federal income, there was a democrat president, with a republican congress and senate fighting him tooth and nail. If we could get both sides to stop tinkering with the system to help their buddies, and just rolled with the rules we have, we would ALL be in better shape because then everyone could learn the game plan.

Looks more to me like wars and more that dictated spending more. Clinton did well to reduce but 9/11 started some sort of spending spree with war and war related spending.

Oh, that and Corporations running overseas with their manufacturing and profit hoarding in oversea accounts avoiding paying taxes. No revenue plus excess spending spells deficit.

No matter how you look at it, it is going down. We also got of Iraq and winding down Afghanistan. Why must we always look for blame instead of just recognizing the problem and fixing it? It is an American problem and Americans need to fix it. At least the numbers say we are heading in the right direction. Now if Corporations would just pay taxes and hire Americans who will also pay taxes it would make it all go better faster.

Trolls are gonna troll and haters are gonna hate. I have no different feelings for Obama than anyone else in government. They all do good things and they all do bad things. I only hope the bad get caught and the good get rewarded. But tell me, how is Obama BS the public?

He lied to the American people about another country having WMDs, and he sent us to war based on lies.

You two are like twins or clones in that you think the same way. Out of your a$$. You are just more evidence of why republicants can't get anyone in the White House. You are too busy being racist and ignorant you don't think of everyone as Americans. They are this or that. I've been a conservative all my life. And no... I am not African-American, dumba$$.

When did I say anything that could even be remotely construed as racist?
