America used to be a great country. We used to pull our own weight and we were the greatest country on earth. Welfare was for the disabled and the mentality ill.
Children weren't gender confused and homosexuality was considered wrong. Children played on the streets without fear of being abducted by low life pedophiles and school shootings were unheard of. Back in the day illegal immigrants weren't allowed to steal our money and we weren't forced to learn Spanish for employment.
The Baby Boomers brought liberalism to America through their hippie culture and music and we have never been able to recover. The Baby Boomers allowed Union greed to destroy Detroit. They allowed prayer to be taken out of school. They didn't close our borders and allowed the Fed Gov to abort millions of Gods Children through Roe v. Wade. The Baby Boomers have ultimately ruined the America their parents knew, and rebeled like immature children. They ran up our debt on social programs ( Democrats) and unjustified wars (Republicans and Democrats).
The Baby Boomers will be known as the most greedy generation in American history. Through debt, divorce, greed and immortality they destroyed the American dream. They idolized musicians who said they were bigger than Jesus and were responible for the filth of Hollywood.
Google " Baby Boomers Destroyed America" and you will see that others agree. You have destroyed the last hope for freedom in this world.
Where's your God Lennon now? Imagine all the people, Imagine all of the greed. He's dead just like the freedom that you gave away for goodies. Good bye American Dream!
a you are just nuts....you are probably a child of a baby boomer....case closed

Sour grapes Freedomfighter? Don't like the fact you got your GED then could not find a high paying job and ended up flippin burgers on the night shift? I worked my way through college, only bought what I could afford, saved some money for hard times, raised four kids that actually contribute to society, and in the process of following an actual plan, amassed a shit load of money. When I retire I will not be a burden to society, so yeah, this babyboomer believes in hard work, pulling your own weight, and enjoying the fruit of my labor. get over it you whiney little commie *itch

Who is it in office when every thing goes down hill? It would be the boomers. So if you look at the government as the problem guess what. It is still the boomers. I am not going to say all boomers some did great things! Some worked hard for this country and some died for this country. If you don't want it to continue get the cracker jack politicians out of office. I don't see too many people out protesting like they did. All the blame can't be laid on boomers either as the children of the boomers are to lasy to get off the couch and do anything about it.

Suck it up, cry baby. You obviously are an ignorant little young snit with no understanding of economics. You should have paid attention in school instead of taking drugs. The blame goes to your government, especially your congress, and corporations who are now paying 3rd world companies and slave labor so you can buy your sniveling clothes at Wally world. As long as they can make more profit somewhere else, you're screwed.

It didn't matter and still doesn't matter how much money workers here were paid or demanded to be paid. The only thing that matters is how much more profit can a corporation squeeze out before it either finds a new cheaper workforce or bellies up and starts all over thanks again to our wonderful government and business laws and lawyers.

The only way work will ever come back here is when coming back means more profit than they are currently getting where they are today. If Americans would ever wake up and realize THEY have the power over the corporations and stop buying anything foreign related and demand the government stop rewarding them for going overseas they would be forced to come back, forced to pay our workers who in turn would pay their taxes. But nope, that's not going to happen because they are just like you, ignorant yapping sheeples, brainwashed to believe those who were first screwed (baby boomers) are to blame. Enjoy working until you die dip$h!t.

ROFLMAO! Is that the best you can do? Instead of intelligently countering my statement, you want to politicize me? Frankly, my dear little boy, I'd rather outlaw political parties and lobbyists all together, limit Congressional terms, and revamp the whole representation process to more closely represent the citizens. So what names to you want to counter with now? Follow your own advice, go back to school and then come back and say something intelligent.

You all bitc. and moan about the government or another group of people. But who put this government in power? We all are to blaim .hit the only reason why Obama is there is because of his race the soft .ss .ussies in what used to be a great nation. As a whole we didn't want to be racist. So you get what you ask for. Vote for who is needed not because you are afraid of offending someone. You want a great nation back vote for someone that will stand up for what they believe in. Look back in history when we thought putting an actor in office was the best thing. That started it all.

"But who put this government in power?"

What came first, the chicken or the egg? Think about cause and effect. Just because a group of people voted them in power does not necessitate blame. If I sold a car to someone who got drunk and killed someone else while driving it, am I to blame? No. Obama was elected for many reasons, both major and minor. Mostly because the Republicans could not present someone who the majority liked better.

Nobody is in the booth with you checking your racist beliefs, so your claim of voting race is weak and lame. And the mess we are in did not start with Obama. In fact, according to market statistics, things are are a bit better economic wise. Unemployment just fell again as it has been doing.(Look at the EU and the mess they are in).

This slide into an abyss has been coming for years, even before Reagan and has it's ups and downs. Hopefully, Obama or not, things will continue to get better as things balance out. More companies are coming back because of market differences in the world. Obama has been attempting to push through a measure that would give tax breaks to companies that move jobs back to the U.S. Guess who blocked it? Senate Republicans on Thursday blocked the No.1 item on the president's congressional "to-do-list," refusing to allow a vote on a bill that would give tax breaks for companies that "insource" jobs to the U.S. from overseas while eliminating tax deductions for companies that move jobs abroad. Clap...clap...clap. Wonderful.

Obama is only 1/3 of the government. He is a President, not a dictator. If he is such a horrible President, how did he get elected the second time?

One only needs to look at Congress to see where many problems lie. Too many lobbyists, too many kick backs, too many attachments to bills, too much red tape... I could go on and on. The average age of Congress was 56.7 years; and of Senators, 62.2 years old!! Those are NOT baby boomers. They are the tail end of those who GAVE BIRTH to the boomers.

You are a typical uneducated American who really has NO idea of what is going on. Americans should be ashamed of themselves for not knowing better. Most just whine and cry and then go to the movies or flip on the TV. They no longer want to take part of what is happening, so in a way, yes they deserve what they are getting, but not for the reasons you want to claim.

Cry baby if I see go ahead and let it out get your mommy to change your diaper while ypur at it. If Colin Powell was to run for office I would be one of the first to vote for him. Look at when the nation began to go in the hole. Hmmm late 70 and early 80 from there its been down hill. If you read my comment I laid blame on the boomers their children and so on. Get the race .hit out of your own eyes I live in a multi race family. You want to say race didn't play a huge part in him winning. All the black side of my family has never voted before Obama and said until their is another black man running they will not vote again. The promise of something for nothing and race got him in office. If we as Americans don't change the want for nothing and get off our butts and get out there and work for it. then its going to stay the way it is. Greed got us where we are today it started with the boomers and still running strong today. Yea we might hurt some feelings but owell. I knew I would get someone when I put Obama in my first post. I vote for who I believe is best for America not a party. The part about you car drunk has nothing to do with the whole conversation. Just shows u are butt hurt about Obama. Little known fact if ur a waitress and you sale someone alcohol and they get in a wreck you and the place off business are libel in the state of Tennessee.

Yes, you can say things began slipping faster down hill in the 70's-80's, but I fail to see how baby boomers had anything to do with that. They were the beginning of the victims (not causers) that continues to today. This stupid myth, people don't want to work is exactly that, a myth. If jobs that were available before the 70-80's era existed today, most on assistance would be denied as they were back then. If you took away that assistance today with nothing for them to fall back on, you would have the mess you have in Greece: Total anarchy, strikes every other week, near riots and so on. You keep saying if we don't get out and work... where are these jobs? Yes, as you say, greed got us where we are, but who's greed? Corporations who wanted more and more of the profit! They cut corners everywhere including the quality of their products. That got the auto industry screwed when the Asian market jumped in with great quality and demanding very little profit. But the tide has turned and now it's the Asian market who are the ones cutting corners and suffering the largest recalls of all autos today. But Americans keep buying them and sending Uncle Sams money overseas because they are brainwashed sheeples too stupid to realize that.

As for race... If anyone says they won't vote unless there is a black man to vote for, that would be a problem. But, when I look at statistics, I don't see that at all. Blacks made up 13% of the voters in the last two elections, but even before that, they made up 10% of the voters and have for many decades. That is not a small factor considering African-Americans make up 13% of the US population which means most of them voted. A 3% increase is only 1.2 million people. I feel WHO Obama was and WHO he represented himself to be was a much larger factor in garnering the higher percentage of the Black vote (90%) than his skin color. But I digress, I cannot say it wasn't either without another black running. I don't look at the color of skin so, your claim I am hurt by Obama? Hahaha! Shows what you don't know. I voted both times for Obama.

Sorry my analogy of the car sale and drunk was lost on you. Let me dumb it down, I was referring to your statement that the voters are to blame for voting for lousy politicians, when in fact, the voter is only electing who they FEEL will be best for the job. Unfortunately, politicians lie and don't always serve the people who voted for them. Thus, who is to blame? The politician or the voter? If you still think it is the voter, you haven't learned anything and I can not help you.

If you sell the car no but if you sell the alcohol you are responsible. Just like you blame someone else. Don't blame the alcoholic blame the state for giving him a license. Don't blame the voters blame the politician. Pass the buck pass the buck that is what America has turned in to. Keep believing in those stats that the government put out. Keep believing your fellow voters are not at fault. As long as carreer politician keep getting voted in we will keep passing the buck. So go ahead blame someone else. Instead of doing your homework for yourself let others tell you what the truth is.

Keep passing the blame cry baby and in the future people will be looking for the myth of America. Like we are looking for Atlantis know. Put down the history books that is approved for you. Learn the real history and go from there. I ask you how America was founded. And what prencibles worked to build a great nation they will be the same to keep it going. If we heard a man say ask not what your country can do for you but what can you do for your country now people would laugh him out of office.

I never said anything about the alcohol or who sold the alcohol as it had nothing to do with my analogy. My voting is analogous to selling the car. The buyer of the car (politician I voted for) will now use the car (his political position) however he chooses, even against what I expected him to use it for. It is also not the state's fault if he misuses his license. That is the problem with people today, they want to toss the blame at anyone but on themselves. Take responsibility for what you say and do. It is always those in charge who are to blame: The politician, boss, foreman, the parents, on and on. It the one that does the crime who is to blame.

As for the stats I quoted, those are tallied by independent groups unassociated with the Government. I also cross checked with other groups and found similar numbers. That statement only further proves you are naive at how things work in the world. You wouldn't know the truth if it was shoved in your face. You make too many assumptions. Even when voters vote out a politician, it is no guarantee the next one won't turn and do the same thing. All we can do is listen to what they say and hope for the best. I do blame the voters when they vote for someone base on stupid things like abortion or gay anything... That is how many crooks get in. They didn't believe in abortion, but stealing your money, approving cronyism, cheating on their taxes, having a record of voting down good proposals is okie-dokie! But hey, they don't believe in abortion, so I'm voting for them!

Don't be discouraged, the Topix robot does not always allow certain posts that contain web addresses. Try just naming the site without using the address or replace the "." with the word "dot". That will usually get it past the algorithms Topix uses to avoid posting cuss words or internet spam web sites. Sometimes you can even see YOUR post when no one else can for that same reason. Good luck.

This is still America and a smart or hard working man will always be able to get ahead. See, our generation's problem is we heard how easy it was back then, when you could walk down the street and they were handing out good jobs. People bought new cars every year. SS package another 400 bucks sure give me two! And houses cost , like ... Free.
I grew up being told be good, go to school and don't catch aids and everything we be great. But it's bs , it always was.
You gotta work for everything and fight to keep it
I didn't go to college, and I learned from experience.
I learned how to make money
But the first thing I learned is life isn't fair and deserve's got nothing to do with it
Half my friends who went to college still live at home and I'm sure even though they won't admit it ask their parents for money to go hang out.
Grown men In Their 30's
So stop b itching and get a job, best one you can. Then get a better one
And keep moving up. It might be a job your not proud of but dont mind what other people say, you pay your own bills, no one can talk
Make money get a girl, get married , have kids.
In ten years you'll look around and some people will be left behind
But it won't be you.
America will still be here, don't stop fighting , dont listen to bs

Well said! By far the best thing I've read on Topix in quite some time. The 30 & 20 year olds are going to have to fix the problems the boomers created. Debt and moral decline could both use improvement. We just have to work hard! Hate what the boomers did to this country but complaining won't fix it. They could care less!
