Go on Mooresville Hwy (Hwy 373) through Mooresville, turn left on Beark Creek Pike, go about 3 miles, church on left about 100 yards off road. No, it isn't in use.It may be posted, but not sure. Haven't been there in a while.

Hello to all...I'm still alive and kicking..
I have been to this church and it is a beautiful building. There have been reports of windows being painted red...false...they are stain glass with red coloring...it is a two story church, however, I did not see any method or means to get to the second story, nor did I see that here was ever a set of stairs inside or outside. We went to this church during the daytime and felt absolutely no "creepy" feelings...however, there is no way that you could pay me or entice me to visit the graveyard during anything but daylight hours...we have pics to back up the eerie feelings that we experienced...

A group of friends and I went to see this place this past weekend and the police showed up. The church has a security system and it is posted. You must have permission to go there. We now have to appear in court.

Really, there was no security system when we were there a short while back. Nothing really to see but an old empty building that is badly weather worn anyway. Who owns the place now....who is taking you to court?

And who might that be? I am curious to see if it is the same individuls who drove by and waved while we were making rubs of tombstones in the nearby graveyard....There name should be on the court order.

Are they talking about the Beth Beri(sp) Church? Is it the same church as the Bear Creek Church? I didn't think they were the same. I know the first one I mentioned is rumored to be haunted and people have tried to steal the Bible from the pulpit etc. Help me POB..

I think you are right Beth Beri. Church is the one they will arrest you at. I haven't ever heard it called Bear Creek Church but it could be the same.

The church at Bethbirei Church is still being used for services. The church on Bear Creek is empty and in the years & weather have changed a once beautiful building into a weather worn shame. I understand why they do not want people in either church and when I went in the church at Bear Creek, it must have been visited by people of curiosity only. I did not see any vandilism anywhere...nor did I see a security system....as a matter of fact, there was no apparent electricity in the building. I can't imagine that building being safe for electrical lines...I have never been in the church at Bethbirei and respect their privacy as a current place of worship.....but, their graveyard across the road from the church is creepy. For some reason, you will get an instant pressure headache. A county police officer did come by while we were there in the graveyard. It is not illegal to go to a graveyard during daylight hours, so what could he do?.....Oh, is there a connection between the Orr family buried at Bethbirei and the Orr family buried at Bear Creek? This is what I am searching to find out.

Hey footballcrazy....the Bible has been stolen from Bethbirei several times. As well as, Sunday school rooms vandalized. There is a site on the Internet where this church is mentioned and members of the congregation have responded with a plea to respect their wished and the wishes of the families who have been buried by staying away and stop harming the building and sacred grounds. It is obvious that many tombstones have been either removed or knocked over by ignorant people with nothing better to do.
