Look at what the local Taxpayers owe City and County together over $52,000,000.00, unemployment rate some of the highest in the State, people losing jobs, homes every day, people going hungry, yet some still want the taxpayers to fund their fire works show.

The fireworks show might last for 1 hour yet cost the taxpayers several hundred or thousands dollars, what good did that really do you are any one?

Let’s try something different this year an hour of peace, silence, and possible prayer asking for our forgiveness, as to allowing the destruction to God’s environment, animals, birds, land, air and water?

I agree. With the unemployment rate so high and budget problems nobody has the money to shoot them. Nashville always have a big show. I say head up there for the show. To watch them is free.

Are stays at home, watch on TV, and save our money! to pay the Marshall county / city of Lewisburg high Property Tax Rates, extra fees, the soon to be higher utility bills, water and sewer rates purposed increase, the Rec. Center over $700,000.00 loss, the over $5,000,000.00 counties taxpayers part interest on county over $40 million dollar Taxpayer Debt and who knows what the interest was on the cities over $12 million dollar taxpayer Debt and the over $500,000.00 to get out of the Derogative Derivatives deals, Over $52,000,000.00 County and City Taxpayer Debt such a disgrace.

No extra money for a fireworks show here fact is Stop all unnecessary wastes think about it one hour to shoot or burn up several thousand dollars for fun are we all crazy?

Well I am perfectly happy having money spent on a fireworks show. You aren't the only tax payer in this county and a lot of us don't mind celebrating one of the most important holidays of the year with fireworks.

Does the City or County bid the local fireworks shot on the 4th of July by public bid as to allow all local fireworks business to bid?
Who keeps tracks of the purchases as compaired to what is shot could there be some fireworks pull out of those purchased as for private use at local public Officials private parties?
How does those purchases show up in the City or County budget or on their audit reports?

As far as the accounting for funds, that I don't know. You do realize that the city can't just buy a large ammount of fireworks and shoot them off themselves, It has to be done by a licensed professional, so no, there is no extra fireworks, or fireworks that are fired off at private celebrations. Another example of you being to useless to do any research before asking a question. Are you sure you like being an example of a Marshall county education?

Does the city or who ever advertise are bid the fireworks displays?

Does it take a licensed professional electrician to install the sound equipment for the city at different locations are can the city manager himself do that, does he get paid any extra for that?
Is that also bid?

What does the electrical installation have to do with fireworks. I believe you need to be tested for Alzheimers because you obviously can't keep to the subject at hand. As far as bids for the local fireworks, I'm sure if you would get up and go ask you could be told But then you couldn't make baseless accusation in your petty, grudge driven, attacks on local government. Research is your friend, if you knew how to do research anyway.

As you stated it takes a qualified licenses person to do either, electrical sound man or fireworks display, I do have a touch of Alzheimer’s could you do the research then report back to us all on here as you seem to be well informed!

I wouldn't tell you a train is coming, I don't support laziness or ignorance. If you have questions, it is up to you to find the answers. You sound just like some lifelong welfare rider, demanding others to work for you and hand you everything while you do nothing. I feel sorry for your family if you raised your kids the same way.

Well I would sure tell you a train is coming, to keep you from getting ran over, for there is a train coming, similar to the one the Indians march on, called The Trail of Tears, even like the trains in Germany years ago, if We the People, the voters, the taxpayers don't wake up, say enough is enough “Stop this Nations Debt” Stop this Counties Debt, Stop This Lewisburg’s Debt are run for public office, VOTE and let our local elected officials here in Marshall County all the way to Washington know they should listen too the people when elected if not impeach them kick them out of public office when they don’t listen or produce, stop this excessive spending, eliminate the taxpayer debt, not listen to their fellow bureaucrats but work for the benefits of the taxpayers, not their so called wheeling dealing friends. Not take trips to party places on taxpayer funds and money during budget short falls but save work through local connections, and change direction.
First work to close and seal forever that Stinking Leaking Toxic Chemical Dump next meet with the Knoxville Mayor this states future Governor go to Washington get a Meeting with Obama or his administration, there are more important connections in Nashville and Washington when it comes to Lewisburg's future than Vegas.

In my opinion it's for the kids. I'm willing to pay a couple of dollars out of my taxes so my kids can enjoy the Fourth of July holiday.

They probably buy from a wholesaler or at wholesale prices.

WHOA!!!!!! Who's going to pay for this trip to Washington or to Nashville? Aren't you afraid someone might fly first class or have a glass of wine with their dinner.....using your taxpayer money? The federal government is not going to be of much help to Marshall County in solving our financial problems.....there are many cities and counties in our shape. Many are in far worst shape. You don't know why they went to Vegas...could it be a meeting for industrial recruiters with industries looking for a place to go. Why don't you wait for the results of the trip to be reported before you go off the deep end?

Sure!
You, your kids will be paying in their future for the City and County Taxpayer Debt by higher property taxes and more taxes to pay for those firecrackers shot, that lasted maybe one hour and went up in thin air!
Might as well have a money burning show.
The Taxpayer's Debt won't go up in thin air, you and your children will work hard to pay their Future Taxpayer Debt.

Thank God that we live in a country where the majority rules. I would imagine the majority of the taxpayers in Lewisburg do not object to the 4th of July fireworks. Celebrations on the 4th of July remind us all that we live in the greatest nation on this earth.

The majority does not rule as to the fact of the Bush and Gore Election!

For it has been proven as too the above reference that
"It not the people who vote that count, but the people who count the votes"
Stalin

Did you know this Nation owes more, than any Nation in the world!
The United States is the largest debtor nation in the world!

Also less people vote in this County and City than live here so the majority does not rule.

The ones in office rule and some idiots seem to get pleasure out of watching firecrackers go off as the taxpayers money burns up in smoke.

Might as well have an hour of Taxpayer Money Burning!

Feed the hungry Children with that money!

Why not and hour of silence as to Honor the Nation and thank God!
