How is the MCYFL's new field coming along. Have not heard much about it lately. Has the participation been good this year?

I hope they can get it together soon. It seems to be taking a long time.

sorry but the mcyfl is a joke. my daughter wanted to cheer until i told her it would take up her ENTIRE and EVERY saturday not to mention practice days. she quickly and thankfully declined.

they tell you to be there an hour before your game starts and then your game starts 2 hours late. guess what? there goes your weekend.

Did you really think it would not take much of your time if your child participated?

There's some time and then there's all my time and my child didn't participate.

I would really like to know who told you that. Because that is not the case at all. Some people do VOLUNTEER their time to be out there all day. But no one is required to... Many people have kids in different age groups, so yeah... they're out there for long periods at a time. But most families see it as family time. It would be nice if more people would be more involved with their children. That being said it's not for everyone, and that's ok too....

For the most part it is a really great program for the kids in this community. I enjoy watching my friends kids in it, and maybe some grand children one day. If people in this community only knew how good they have it. Their fee's are hardly anything compared to other leagues. I have a co worker that lives not to far from here and they spent $350 for one child to cheer. And it is the same type of program, nothing more.

I think it's a shame what happened to the league. They have played on that field for many many years and have been kicked off by the school board.

Everyone who is involved in the MCYFL is working very hard to make sure the kids continue to have a place to play next year. It's not easy when you don't have the city or just a small part of the community backing you!

I'm sorry you child chose not to cheer. She probably would have had a good time. The cheerleading has been for the past few years the best it's probably ever been. I would hate to know what would happen if the women over that part left to do something else....

THATS BCUZ EVERY KID GETS TO PLAY,AND IT TAKES A WHILE. IM A CHEERLEADING COACH, AND I TELL YOU I FEEL LIKE IM JUST A BABYSITTER HALF THE TIME..THE COACHES TELL THEM TO BE THERE EARLY SO THEY CAN GET THE EXCERISE SO THEY WONT BE CRAMPED UP AND SO THEY CAN BOOST THEM UP FOR THE GAME, I FOR ONE TELL MY GIRLS TO BE 30 MINUTES B4 THE GAME. AND THATS SO WE CAN TALK A BIT ..NOT JUST GO STR8 OUT ON THE FEILD. IT JUST SEEMS LIKE U HAD OTHER THINGS YOU WANTED TO DO. NOT YOUR DAUGHTER!! SO DONT PUT IT ON MCYFL, AND SAY THEY ARE JOKE. THEY ARE THE BEST THING FOR THESE KIDS.

Compared to other programs, I would have to agree with the statement that mcyfl is a joke. Every weekend, it seems someone is either getting arrested, or is getting kicked out. The cheerleading program seems to be the best part, as I feel that they really put on a good show. I have heard that the board members and league president are causing the most trouble (just what I hear - not my statement). Games seem to always start late, and whats up with letting kids be the referees?

Like I said, its just what I have heard about it. I, myself, have seen people being told to leave during the football games, but haven't seen anyone getting arrested. I have also been to the Duck River league games (Cornersville), and will say that it is much better managed than the MCYFL is. I wish that they would let Lewisburg kids play in their league, but they do not.

To your credit, like i said earlier; The cheer leading is great, I just wish that they would straighten out the FB program. It is completely worthless.

This league is terrible. The kids are wonderful but the coaching for the most part is horrific.Keep your children at home and do not expose them to the idiots that coach the five and six year olds. The SR. division seem to be very good coaches but most teams in the 5-6 year olds have some real losers coaching. These fools are chest beating at the expense of small kids they obviously never played the game at a high enough level to learn what the game of football really should teach a child.REAL losers posing as coaches especially that PACKERS team. These guys use profanity celebrate while opposing 5-6 year olds look on in amazement.Thesae tatooed up thugs dance scream and cuss using small children to get pleasure they never earned on a field of play at any level.LOOOOOSERS!

Thank you for your complement about the cheerleading.... The football is not bad though...

The cheerleading is fantastic. The football coaches look like they are out on work release from the jail but that cant be correct because I bet these thugs dont work. They cant coach but they can scream and cuss kids.A real coach can teach humility and how to grow and develop into a strong successful young MAN.The president of this league needs to evaluate these idiots on the sidelines and make some decisions because many need to go elsewhere to do their chest beating.

I heard that someone else was going to run for prez to straighten that mess out down there. It would be nice... they cant even keep ref's there, how do they expect to get people to volunteer for the other work?

The cheerleading needs a little more help recruiting cheerleaders. I didn't know that it was okay for cheerleaders to practice away from there assigned practice place. I thought the FB team had to be present in case someone gets hurt.

I truly hope they can find someone who understands the needs of the CHILDREN in this community. These coaches are out there in an attempt to satisfy their own needs through their kids and at the expense of everyone out there. Many of those adults should not be around children.Anyone can stand out there posing as a coach but very few understand the complexities of children and what they need to see from an ADULT.A childs life can be influenced in a negative way early in life and never recover.

It amazes me how some people have nothing better to do than get on here and talk crap about something they have no idea about.
First of all Becky is the assistant Cheer director, Michelle is over it this year. Let me assure you there are no teams with 15 girls on it. The Sr. Bears have 10, Sr. Mustangs 5 and Sr. Red Devils 11.
Cheer leaders are placed first if those girls have a brother playing on a team. They automatically go to that field on what ever team fits their age. Example brother plays on Eagles girl cheers for Eagles, Jr. or Sr. Red Devils. 2nd if they cheered on that team last year then they can return the following year. I don't think that the parents would like to pay for another uniform if they don't have to.
When the season started there were only 2 of the original Bears from the season before. It would not have been fair to have a team with only 2 girls on it. So they were going to be on the mustangs, then a few more signed up. And yes they did want to be with Denise again, b/c she is a good coach. Denise then decided to come back and coach again. Then when those girls moved from the Mustangs to the Bears that left the mustangs with only 6 grils, then one had to leave b/c of personal reasons.
Yes, the Mustangs did get "shafted" so to say but the coach (who by the way is WONDERFUL!!!!) understands why.
All the cheerleading coaches, football coaches and board members work very hard to make things happen. No we will never be able to make everyone happy, so what you have to say doesn't really mean a whole lot to anyone!

Continued:

Now a little more about the cheerleading program. 4 years ago these girls didn't know what cheerleading was. They were on the side lines doing so called cheers in JERSEYS!!! No one cared enough to even get them a uniform. Then Becky and Michelle came along. They have formed a program that has grown each year. Maybe if y'all would put half the energy in to helping the kids as you do in to pointing fingers then things would work better. Two people can't possibly do it all. The cheerleading coaches work very hard. Trust me to them it is more than just a "title" they take the sport very seriously and that is why their TEAMS look good.
Now, some people may get the impression that some squads are bigger (the Red Devils) but if you took the time to realize that Michelle and Becky coach BOTH the SR. and JR. Red Devils together then you would realize that it is not just one big team, but two teams. Plus, they are the directors. And work full time jobs. And between them both they have over 15 years of little league and competition cheering experience and both have coached for 4 seasons.
Their teams.... TEAMS!!! have the highest return rate, which means that those girls are the same one's that have been with them for years. They practice 3 days a week for 2 hours even if that means finding an indoor facility due to weather.
At the beginning of the season, all Jr. and Sr. Teams were given the option to cheer with them for the first 2 weeks to learn some basic cheerleading skills that they could then build on.
Every Jr. And Sr. Team's coach has been taught how to have stunts. It is up to the coach if they use them or not. I would hope that if the coach is not comfortable then they wouldn't have the girls do something wrong and get hurt. Again it's the coaches choice.
Last year in the cheer event all 3 Sr. Teams had some kind of pyramid. It's on film if you want to dispute it!!!!
Remember when you go to point that finger there are 3 more pointing back at you.... so before you run your mouth have all your facts straight!!!!
I'm very proud of ALL the cheer coaches this year. We have had MANY things that we have had to over come!!!! Griping people who don't know half of what they are talking about it the biggest problem.
So, here is my suggestion.... Put your hand out there to help instead of slapping these men in women in the face for all their efforts.
It's a shame that you can't see the bigger picture and that it's all about the kids!!! Now that you've read this, google fundraising and see what you can do to get their field up and running for next year. Or just do what you do and run your mouth some more cause that doesn't get you any further than this forum....
