I heard this morning that Bob had died at St. Thomas Hospital. I hate to hear this because Bob was a good man and very friendly to everyone. He was an asset to Lewisburg and Marshall county and had many many friends. I will, as most,b miss him. All my best to Sharon and their family.

Bob started calling me this when we first met - he will be sorely missed by all in the community, by his family, his many many friends and missed greatly by those of us who he took uner his wing and treated like family. I am shocked and saddened by his passing, but am a better person for knowing him. God Bless him always, and his very special family!

Bob was to this county what we should all strive to be. A big part of his business was dedicated to the needs of our children and down-trodden. May God be with the Smartt family and soothe their pains in this time. May this coummunity embrace them and shower them with the love they deserve. May all the good things he did be celebrated and he be remembered for the sacrifices he made for others. RIP my friend.

Tonight we honorably attended Bob's Celebration of Life ceremony at the Family Life Song church. Countless members of our community waited in what seemed like an endless line to show their respect to a good man who gave so much and asked for so little.

The numbers alone of the people who attended spoke volumes of how well respected, admired and loved Bob was by the community. God bless Bob for all the good he has done.

I was hoping someone would tell a little and you did.Thank you for sharing.
A white wreath was on the door and I know it will be hard for Sharon to walk back in alone.Hopefully a lot of people will go with her.
Bob wa a good man to do benefits for this county.
I understand he was an excellent guitarist too.

Our family had need of the police this past week. I want to say they responded quickly and did all that was needed. They were professional but kind to everyone. I would say they went beyond what was needed to provide the services we needed. I hear some very unkind gossip and complaints about our officers but NOT FROM ME!

I heard that this is being investigated by authorities because of the poster accusing. Ms. Spence of murder. I would hate to know I wrote this.

This is true, I know someone who had to do the papers to have this done.

Bob was a great man with a huge heart who never met a stranger. I listened to waxo for years just to hear what craziness was coming next. I will miss Bob's voice from now on. I have tried to listen to waxo since Shaaron took over. I used to feel sorry for her because Bob kind of picked on her in fun on the radio. But now she is doing the same thing to this new guy complaining about the quality of his coffee and trying to make him sound stupid on the radio. I'm very disappointed in the road that waxo is on now. I hate the new Tradetime. What's the deal with starting it before people even get home from work? It's terrible now. I know Bob would be just as disappointed in the turn of events at the station that he so obviously loved and poured his life and heart into. I think she sounds pretty happy with her new life. I guess I would too if people were handing over thousands of dollars that I didn't have to account for. I made a substantial donation to the benefit that the workers put on for Bob. Guess that his wife will finally get that new car that I've heard her complain about for years. RIP Bob, no one can EVER take your place & waxo will never be the same, not even close without you there to care.

Let the lady alone. Those who have a problem with her, just have a problem, and need to get over it, period.

I had many dealings with Bob over the past 20 years. He was a great upbeat person that truly cared about this community and he took great pride in his radio and tv station. Anytime I wanted to know what was happening in Lewisburg I could always count on Bob Smartt to deliver the goods. That is not the case now. I have tried many times to listen to WAXO and have watched this new version of Trade Time a few times. All of Bob's hard work died with him. His wife is a good lady, don't get me wrong. But she needs to turn that station over to someone that knows how to run it. It is unrecognizable now. There is little to no local news and it's a lucky thing if Trade Time even lasts for 30 minutes. I feel so bad that Bob poured the majority of his adult life into building that station to have it turned into what it has become under such poor management. I cannot listen to it anymore. Recently I thought I'd listen in to the morning show. Oh my goodness, it was such a disappointment. At one point there was over 15 minutes of nothing but commercials. It's pitiful. I do hope that you are resting in peace my old friend.
