Does anyone know what being burned behind the old shoe factory just below the Summit Apartments in that big iron tank, real black smoke?

Is that smoke toxic or harmful? Look like rubber, or old tires, being burned?

Asking a question as to if someone is doing something potentially toxic is stupid? If it was in my neighborhood, i'd want to know.

Walk yourself over and ask other than jumping on the Internet waiting for someone to tell you. Breath deeply now.

Trying to be nice and just asking, is if others were concerned?

How about next time just go to the fire department and ask? Don't burn hazardous material, then we all can breath deeply now!

I was being nice. Actually you are being a lazy slob and trying to start some mess on what someone else is doing on their own property. Judging from the location, it's probably crack in that low class area in which you reside.

Black toxic smoke, comming from a big iron outside burner, burning rubber, copper wire or what ever, knows no property lines and those poor people in the housing projects and that area don't deserve that!
Public Health matters more, the air we breath belongs to all of us!

I do my mother lived in that area at the Summit and her health matters to me!
There are babies in that area, old folks, good poor folks who's health matters, so get a legal permit to burn and see if the State allows that type of burner, outside burning and real black toxic smoke in the air!

Who cares. Guess that tells you how successful of a life your mother lead. Section 8 housing. Im sure you are following in her footsteps. Since you haven't owned property you can't speak on their behalf.
