I am new to Marshall County and was active in politics where I used to live. I have seen signs for Vickie Cain and Billy Spivey running for the same representative seat. I am just wondering the good points of each candidate as I am not one to vote based on party affiliation.

I'd say vote for Spivey. The other one is the laughing stock of this town. Ain't got two dimes to rub together but portrays herself as fine people.

First of all, I have no dog or kin in this fight, other than I want to have someone to truly represent all of Marshall County and not just a select few.
Billy is ok. He is a former commissioner. Don't know him personally; however my impression is he is riding on the train of the Rep. Party. Could be good or could be just plain politics. I guess he would be ok if he wins.
As for Vickie, don't confuse laughing stock for happy, positive person. She is what she is. Pulls no punches nor is she a faker like the previous post implies. She worked hard for everything she has. She takes a "common sense approach" to how to solve problems. Not really Rep. or Demo. I believe she will truly represent us well.

If she says she is both she is a democrat. I would be too easy running on both tickets, once elected you are what you are and you would vote for whatever the party votes for.

Both good people but he has the experience to do the job. she is nice enough but has no clue what its about. he earned it to me by working hard two yaars ago and sticking with it. she should have stayed out. too bad for her but will be great for this area. he is well known in those crowds and can get things done. the supporters she has will get her beat badly. i hate that.

With this last administration I will never be a democrat gain. Any party who has to vote to use the word God in their ceremony can't be good. The vote was too close to make me feel comfy with the party. Those who voted it in did it only because it would of destroyed their party if not. What would Cain do?

Answer; if voted in she will do whatever the party and the liberal folks who may vote her in tell her. I am going republican because I feel it is the true American way in 2012. Notice all the rhinos out there. That should tell you something.

Exactly! 4 years is plenty enough. Wasn't it R Reagan who once said: "ask yourself this question. Are you better off today than you were four years ago?"

You are correct. If I was a CEO hired to reverse a tumbling business and I said I could do it, do you think for one minute I would be weak or stupid enough to blame the last guy for my failures after 1, 2, 3 or 4 years?
Even with full support of both houses for the first 2 years nothing was done but more campaigning and going country to country degrading us and kissing their butts to win them over when he decides to run for king of the world.

Furthermore...when he graded himself concerning his job as president up to this point he was generous with himself and gave himself an incomplete. In my day if my class work was graded incomplete within the prescribed time it was considered a direct fail score.
Anyone who can still say they are a democrat really need to think what they are agreeing with including church leaders and lose the ridicules spin on conservative values. At this point they all have the riff-raff vote for now.... but what are they going to do with them when the cart gets too full?

Vickie is a great person but the fact she's a democrat absolutely prevents me or any of my family or friends from voting for her. Democrats are who I and many others like me believe are responsible for the continuing downfall of this country. We will never survive as a country without God, support for Isreal, and support of real family values and traditional marriage. Anyone who calls themself a member of the democratic party has given their support to it's platform no matter their personal beliefs or reasoning.

Very well said.

Most of our local elected members are democrats along with democratic beliefs and conduct daily business with their values and beliefs. See where we are at? We need to get America back and get obama out of government housing and living like a king on our dime.
He is really setting a fine example by squandering away our tax dollars on family outings etc, etc. I also believe if you run for any office your political party should be known because it does matter.

Vote for the person, votes for the party and all they stand for. Simple as that.

Not that I am an Obama fan, but if Mitt is in the White House he will be spending tax dollars on family outings just like every previous president has done and flying around in Air Force One will all his gradkids.

Great points. I've notice they are once again preying on uneducated, lower income Americans with a promise of bigger handouts. With the use of the Internet they were able to pull off a master plan for votes with gay and black America last time but this time may prove difficult. Broken promises can only take one so far.

Regardless of you prediction of air miles traveled, so much is at stake if Obama is allowed to continue down the path he has taken this country.

I can tell you this, I have personally witnessed one of the two out late at night picking up signs from opponents in the primary. Maybe they were mistaken for real estate signs......

He is spending OUR money like it is his last term or he considers himself royality of some sort. He has not done anything to deserve anything he gets from us. What has he done except try to take away our rights? You would be surprised what he tried to pass with the health care bill which itself was a flop and another waste of our tax money generating it. Democrates made their bed, they have 2 options, sleep in it or go find another bed.

If You vote Cain, you vote Obama. Anyone that aligns themself with Dems has sold out Christian values and spending restraint. She should stick to real estate. It's terrible to decide to run for all the wrong reasons. She is the face for gay marriage, taxpayer funded abortion, and gun laws by the dozens. She claims not to be and puts a Democrat in front of her name. You cannot say one thing and do another and expect people to not notice. Go to church on Sunday morning and support Obama Monday-Sat. That don't work with me. Sorry VC. You are exposed.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Libra

Look after yourself today, dear Libra, because you don't have as much energy and self-confidence as usual. In fact, your spirits may be trailing around your ankles, making you feel wretched and listless. A pessimistic mood certainly won't help you cheer up, and you may be feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities or other people's problems. The fact is that you've got things out of proportion, but you'll feel better about them soon.
