Isamic Shia/Sunni parallels to Christian Republican/Democratic wars

Has anyone else noticed the parallels and struggles of Isamic Shia/Sunni parallels in the Middle East to the Christian Republican/Democrats in the US? As an example, the Shia are overly religious not unlike the Evangelical Republican right, the Sunni are more secular oriented in their politics much like our Democrats and then you have the Tea Party, which is not much different than that of the Al Qaeda, high strung ideologists.
What is occurring in the Middle East today is not much different than the American Civil War. Meanwhile, here in the US, those dividing lines are also getting wider and meaner. And as they do, we are going to see less and less cooperation in our government.
The major difference between the two situations is the economics or the fourth major player/party in US politics: the Corporation.
Thomas Jefferson once said:
"I hope we shall take warning from the example and crush in itís birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial of strength, and to bid defiance to the laws of their country."
So, like the sectarian skirmishes of Shia/Sunni/Al Qaeda, so is our political parties all the while the Corporations rape the land and ensure through Lobbyists Washington is kept in constant disarray. Thank God we have not come to arms. Yet.
And don't think for a moment that those in Washington aren't aware of that as well. You see it everyday from the hoarding munitions, the authorization of drone usage, and gun control. At least the States have taken the proper steps to remind the Feds that their talk of gun controlling will not fly any further than a lead ball shot from a wet musket.
