The Virginia Gov.'s race is over they elected a Democrat the conservative and moderate Republican Party as sent the tea party a message we will remove the tea party from the Republican Party we will remove Phil Roe and Marsha Blackburn I compare the tea party to a lizard crawling around on the ground on their bellies and using their sticky tongue to pull in spiders and little insects just like they use their pallets of their mouth to tell their lies with which they have been brainwashed to and with this I say goodbye to the tea party good riddance.

And don't say that is not true because I saw it myself on the TV, when the Red Cross was talking to him in his Hospital Bed. The other POWs got thrown back into their mud floor cells to recuperate on their straw mats on that mud floor.
Then, when he came home to the Wife who had stuck by him during all of that, he divorced her, when she had a slightly disfiguring car accident.
What a Guy, huh!
That's right I forgot about him crashing his plane into some power lines I believe it was in Spain, and how his Daddy got him out of that one. All the time his peers were ticked off.
Then later like you stated he dumped his wife because she became ugly after the accident.
I can still remember my marriage vows, and the one that states, "through sickness and health.........."

This is probably one of the most insightful posts I have read on here. Now I am not so sure about Obama having that much control of the Fed, but interest rates being kept low and easy access to money are two of the main reasons for Wall Street success during a recessionary economy. Where else are investors going to place their money? And on a global level, with many other nations in economic turmoil, the U.S. stock market is an attractive venue for investments. The minute interest rates start creeping up and the minute the Fed starts easing back on bond purchases, watch what the market will do. I don't blame the Fed for doing what they are doing, they simply want to jump start the economy. But after this long, it is clear this strategy isn't working. In my opinion, it is not working because the institutions who can get this low interest money are not feeding it to the people who will spend it. I don't know all the reasons for this, but I do know some of them are because of stricter regulations regarding lending money and the hesitancy of people to enter into debt agreements.
I would propose funneling this money straight to the spenders. I would suggest how to do this, but I do not want to stir up a Topix controversy tonight. I will wait until martini night to do this :)
Very good post Pete, and it is sad that the people that need it are not getting it. I also agree it's because of regulations tagged on because of what happened when the money was given out without regulations.
But I do believe as time goes on we both will see some changing of regulations so people who really need it get it.
A return of the "Glass Steagall Act" would be a good starter.

I doen't see why that is when he is as liberal as you are. When he put Palin on the ticket, he was trying to balance the ticket out, him liberal, her conservative.
Do you really think McCain is a Liberal?

Phil Roe will be elected with a 65%+ result.
Phil will pull the same numbers that Chris Christie did in NJ.
He may even run unopposed.

EXCELLENT BOOK!

Wow. What an eye opener. Covers where the socialist liberal mentality came from, how it took over the country, how its a fraud, and how the media complex perpetuates this fraud.

I enjoy this type of discourse too.
Many publicly traded companies have been buying back their own shares with this cheap money; makes perfect sense.
Energy companies are borrowing to gobble up smaller energy companies.
Putting money into a cd isn't worth the drive to the bank.
I've started positions in MLPs this year for the first time which means I'll be filing a K-1 this year....never did that before.
I'm getting anywhere from 8%- 10.3% dividends. The downside side is that the MLP tax rate is 30% vs the 25% rate on regular dividends, but so far so good.
I'm very uneasy about the fed tapering. It has to happen, just the uncertainty of when and the market reaction is worrisome.

Well Yasser Arafat's death looks like an assassination using a very small amount of Polonium-210 which is extremely rare and difficult to obtain without the help of a government or access to a nuclear reactor.

Excuse me, Virginia is considered Purple. With it influx of liberals from the DC area (across the river) there is no hope for it.
So the Commonwealth is a "lost cause"....because it has turned purple. Has Florida become a "lost cause" since Obama carried it as well ? Georgia may be poised to become "purple" next....Notice a trend here ? Driving people who aren't zealots from the GOP continues to turn more states "purple" and your answer is to further purify the Republicans. Keep up the good work !

Future Dim-Lib voter gets arrested for displaying the typical (47%) work ethic!

A 14-year-old boy was arrested Monday morning after he fought with his mother over his refusal to get out of bed for school, Athens-Clarke police said.

The boy’s mother told police that her son had been tardy more than 30 times already this year because of his reluctance to get out of bed.
