I hope I receive the hilarious (and predictable) "Bush isn't the president anymore" conservative defense.
I don't remember you or any other liberal calling for Slick Bills impeachment after lying under oath.Oh wait he isn't President anymore

Now you indicate that a 30% deduction still leaves 70% costs, as if 30% ain't much....Somehow, I believe if you gave a 30% match on employee 401Ks you would think that EXTREMELY generous.
Your Medicare example is flawed as well. Your cost share fails to take into account the Medicare premiums deducted each month from recipient's Social Security checks.
If you think after half a lifetime in business I haven't had any employee who decided on their own to make themselves a "partner" in my funds, or any who failed to show up consistently and on time, or who failed to learn that the customer is always right,(even when they are wrong) you are at best WRONG and at worse a fool. I have been worked on by experts....and I have gotten pretty good at spotting a ringer when I see one. I learned some of what I know the hard way and I mean the HARD way.
On the IRS versus private insurance, over the years I have had dealings with both. One follows a set of fixed rules....some of which I haven't liked but they are the rules...the other has a vested interest in denying claims, no matter that the premium was timely paid. I have dealt with Medicare as my parents aged and I have dealt with my private for profit carrier. Once you have done both, you will see why Medicare is so popular with seniors.
I read your back and forth with "Dunlapian" on communications equipment and I am quite sure you know your stuff in that regard. I know nothing about that and you may have noticed....because of that I had no comment. I accept that you know much more in that regard than I. Your business experience is however a moving target, and I quote post 65531 on page 2972. "I have owned a large business in this area for over 40 years". Again...post that it is raining and I would have to step outside to check.
Good grief OT, I have owned part of a large business since I was six years old. That is the family business, and yes, I am the recipient of 5% of the shares of this business. My business, i.e. the one I own all the shares of, has been in existence since June, 2008. This one has nothing to do with the other one. However, the post you refer to was misleading in that I mislead "Lite-N-Lively" about how long I have known how FICA works. I implied I have known how this works for 40 years. I have only know how long FICA works for about 20 years. I also stated in this same post that "MY" business is highly successful. "My" business is, the family business is now a fraction of what it was. I apologize for the implication regarding how long I have known how FICA works. You are correct in implying that this was a misleading statement.

However, I am surprised you even mention this post in that this was my response to "Lite-N-Lively", aka SSS. You have chastised conservative posters many times for using different user names - allegedly. This post was proof positive that SSS uses different user names frequently, yet you say nothing about this. In the same day as the post you refer to, SSS used two different users names. But in the world of OT, that's ok because SSS is liberal.

I know your true colors OT. You are liberal first and foremost. You chastise Walmart for not paying for employees healthcare, yet you don't pay your employees' healthcare. In other words, it is of your opinion large businesses should front the social bill for small ones. I am not going to argue your flawed opinions on medicare or any other social cost any longer because you are simply liberal to the core no matter if it makes sense or not.

You once stated that you simply "get by" regarding the success of our business. Maybe if you were a better leader or less of an ideologist you could change that statement to one something like "I am very successful." In my opinion, if you are a business, you are either growing or dying. Which one is yours?

I don't like it, either, Dunlapian. But, I wonder if he was given that verdict because of the Children that he killed in their sleep.
I also wonder if he will, quietly, have his sentence commuted, like Lt. Calley did, at the end of Obama's Term in Office.
I find it hard to believe that he will actually serve Life in prison, especially with his brain concussions and his exhausting Tours of Duty. But, with the volatility in the Middle East right now, it doesn't surprise me that he was given Life...I just don't believe that he will be incarcerated that long. But, we will see!
As for the Ft. Hood Muslim Psychiatrist, I'm expecting him to get the Death Penalty and for it to be carried out, which is what he wants and deserves. I'm all for granting him his wish...the quicker , the better, as far as I'm concerned!

They want death---it is in their religion to die a warrior (Jehad) for the profit Muhammad. To rot in prison is the worse thing we can do to him.

Yes I know you consider the NEA a powerful Union, but the truth is they can't strike which takes the fire out of them as a Union.
Think you had better think on that a little bit more. They may not be able to strike but their union is one of the most powerful in the state, country. Just think,,,, how many jobs do you hand out that you have no control over or cannot fire readily. Of course you have ideal employees and never need to motivate them to be good employees..........

This is a great example of your flawed logic. Currently, insured individuals pay their premium directly to insurance companies. Under the ACA, insured individuals pay their premium to the IRS, who in turn pays the insurance companies.

Which one of these processes do you think is more efficient? Name me one circumstance where you can insert a third party into purchasing process and the actual process becomes more efficient or cheaper?

Under your logic, you would never fire an employee because that would be cutting the employee off from their ability to feed, house or cloth themselves. In other words, the needs of the employee are prioritized over and above the needs of the business, even if the employee is behaving in a manner detrimental to the business. What that does is jeopardize the business, and hence, all the jobs this business provides. Guess what, political ideologies never trump common sense.

If, and this is a big if, you are indeed a business owner, you are so small that costs such as workman's comp, social security, unemployment and healthcare benefits don't mean a whole lot. Maybe you are a sole proprietor. In this case, you don't provide enough jobs to the community to mean a whole lot. Don't get me wrong, this is not a negative by any means. All businesses, large and small provide immense benefits to any community. However, your opinions regarding larger businesses are extremely flawed and outright incorrect in that you simply don't have enough experience to know what true social costs are and what privatized costs are. You can pose as an astute intellectual all you want, but I know better and I am willing to bet you know better as well. This may sound harsh, but it is simply reality, you are in a county with 6,000 people. How on earth can you possibly know what practices and policies provide substantial employment and which ones don't? Quite simply, you don't.

I challenge you to provide an answer to this one simple question. Where has any government where the government has been the largest employer, the sole insurer, the largest regulator and the sole determining factor on what and how much wages are paid succeeded? You want medicare for everyone. Who is going to pay for medicare for everyone? Is it you? Is it Hancock County? Levying this expense on all businesses is a recipe for catastrophe to our economy. This will never happen in our lifetime and this is something that most Americans do not want.
