Well I don't know but it would never hurt to ask! He was one of the best newspaper reporters Lewisburg. Marshall County ever had!
If it was up to me I hire him for City manager, give him full range to hire, fire and put him over all departments!

Maybe he might be interested in buying the local News Station or operating it for the owner!

Ever try it? With the crap they get, you would probably be a mess.
Be thankful they have what they have. Do you really think they can afford to actually pay someone? At least you have a pretty face to watch, if you appreciate pretty faces. Have your kid read to you, bet it isn't any better. Then take him or her down to the station and put a mike in their face and say you are "on", people are listening and are already critical of you, give me your best. Bet it isn't all that easy.
Hire EF or Clint

Lewisburg is lucky to have WAXO! For so many other towns don't even have a TV station!
New people have to learn give them credit for doing the job they do! Wish they would hire Clint or a great reporter like him! How about hiring EF he was really good at filming the city council meetings! Who does the filming of the city council meetings any more?
Anyone got a link to that city council meeting site, where the public can watch or has it been blocked off to certain computers?
Wow

Well I have been to TV before and I didn't make an idiot out of myself. And by the way my daughter reads to me and she does a great job. at least you can understand her and she is only 9 yes old. She has been on the radio once and again you could understand her. I don't know were you get at least there is a pretty face

Just My Suggestions

Maybe have them read slower, clearer and maybe give a little eye contact. They should read it as if they were reading to a group of kindergarteners and do it with a bit more emotion. Just my suggestions, I am not their boss.

Practice, practice, practice is the key to reading script on air. It's hard enough to read well for radio, but add the visual and it becomes another game all together. Advice to the young one... read news stories (any news stories) out loud at home in front of a mirror, over and over again. Record yourself and makes notes on how to improve; it comes with time. If you do not have a teleprompter, then look at the camera during a ‘natural’ pause or at the end of a sentence. Another piece of advice...never, never, never, read anything cold over the air. Look over the stories ahead of time and read them out loud before going on air and spell out any words phonetically if there are words that would trip you up or chose another word, if possible. Notice your breathing and watch news professionals and how they breathe at the appropriate times to enhance the delivery of the story. Another trick to get rid of mush mouth, especially in the South, is to put a pencil between your teeth when you read making your tongue work harder to pronounce the words more clearly. Remember, it’s show time, every time you go on air.

Good advice....and the mush mouth comment is very, very true locally.

I didn't know we live in Murrrshall County. I always though it was Marshall County until I heard the folks on WAXO. I also found out that Chuck Forbis is Chef Forbis not Chief Forbis. Guess we will be seeing him on the Food Network.

Get a life pal. Give them time to get better. If all you do is listen to them to find fault, that alone is sad. I would love to follow you throughout your day and tell the folks how you messed up on a daily basis. They received suggestions, now lets watch them grow. What were you doing at their ages? Probably acting a fool somewhere.
