I always thought there was a curfew in Lewisburg. I work second shift and when I come home at nite there are the same few kids my guess would be early teens running the streets in our niegborhood this is like midnite or later. With all the creepers around I certianly wouldn't mine out at that hr.

Would you then say that it appears that the patrol officers in Lewisburg don't and will not enforce this law unless there is a complaint? Just asking.

I would say the curfew law was not created to be enforced but rather as a tool when needed. Not all kids out at wrong hours of the night are causing trouble. Yes, the parents need some slaps upside the head, but again, think about it. Laws are not created to control us but to be used as tools when needed.

. No I believe its more of a parenting issue. I'm sure the police have more pressing issues than this.

. What is there for young kids to do on the streets at 2am other than get in trouble or get snatched up by some creeper it happens everyday watch the news or facebook. I would be scared to death to have my child running the streets at 2am

Gee... They could help out around the house. Mow. Do the dishes. Be part of the family.

I guess catching toads on a city street at night is no longer a thing to do. I used to do that. It was a summer night thing to do in hot Louisiana.

I am serious. Children grow up being outside will still like being outside when they are teens. It is a happy time. Sure the evils of the world will always be a problem. My brother hanged out at night and early hours and never got corrected. A neighbor would tell our parents of seeing him standing outside a bar when she took her husband to work at 3am. They did nothing! Looking back, he needed daddy to be a father and not a buddy. Maybe the teens out at night aren't with fathers and mothers who are parents and not buddies. You allow a child to be growing at will, you will have a weed and not a flourishing human being.

You don't understand the world. Teens are going to be teens just as always. If they are going to get in trouble they will and then suffer or learn from it. Not all parent-less teens are bad kids just as some teens who have good parents can be just as misbehaving. You see the world as sort of place where the results are always the same when in fact that is not true at all. It is multilayered and depends on so many inputs such as friends, school, opportunity or lack of it and more. Look at their role models in music. Glorified thugs, sex, no restraint. But still, not all kids will follow that, it all depends on who they hang with and what they learn about the world around them.

Also, whose to say these even are KIDS. 18 looks pretty young nowadays. and even being 34 i can still be in bed by 3, up by 9 and go to work or do whatever else i have to do around the house, so i doubt these "kids" are having any problem doing what their parents migt need done. though i had a parent that was a local around here, id probably want to spend as little time as i could with them as well.
