I do believe that the Earth is having a climate change and that different zones will become warmer. We know about droughts and flooding but do we really understand what is happening in the changes around the Earth. The seasons do something to all forms of life. We know different humans lived on this Earth. What changed? What caused it to change? The dinosaurs are extinct. Global Warming or Global Cooling is nothing to joke about. Air pollution is serious.
Fire crackers already at a popping.
None of that made any sense. We are the only humans to have lived on the Earth.

Well technically the Neanderthalls were a different species of human than we Cro-magnon decendents, so we aren't the only humans to haved lived on the earth. Pretty sure that's not what they were talking about though.

The city must have spent the 4th of July fireworks budget during the widening of Mooresville Hwy so that crooked officials in this town could get their pockets lined from Waste Mangement

Go to recovery.gov and see how much grant money was wasted on that useless highway, seems like Lewisburg could have afforded some fireworks.

Where do all the people get money to buy industrial type fireworks? Isn't this place suppose to have 50% of it's population collecting government assistance?
It makes one wonder how a person in good conscious
can buy smokes, beer and fireworks and feel good about receiving money because they feel they don't have enough? Most who do shoot off the fireworks don't own their home, let alone know how to spell insurance.
I know it is raining as I type and it may not cause fire but what about next year if it is dry but not dry enough to ban them? Those folks are so simple minded they would say, heck, nothin happin' last year.
I guess if some drunk gets hurt they will be getting theirs on disability and take up another handicap space because of their own stupidity.
Where are our law enforcement folks?

The neighbors had family from out of state. There must be some scared animals at the creek with a whole lot of fireworks this year.

It is all fun and games for the leaders and inconsiderate folks in this community until someone gets hurt or someones property gets damaged.

Where was the mayor prior to this? Why didn't he give any guidance?

People need to police themselves so we don't get any more new laws. It was scary this year. next year they will one up it, wait and see. Just like said, what if next year it is dry?

I hope the city steps in and give directions to the people and sellers prior to allowing anyone to sell the first firecracker. In the past, charities sold fireworks, now who's who do it and how many tents does this county need? Talk about looking hillbilly.

The crap better not go into tomorrow.

Poor people usually are not poor because they made the right choices, it's just unfortunate that people who do make the right choices end up paying for others idiocy.

50% of Lewisburg is on Government Assistance? Are you positive this isn't just the little circle of friends you run with? I ask because I keep reading statements like this tossed around, but have yet to see it. As a matter of personal observation, like attracts like, so what you surround yourself with is who you are. Like myself, all of my pal's work, pay bills and can afford their own wine and fireworks. I can't think of any on assistance and I just don't see the sweeping problems that are so generalized on this site. I'm sure they are out there, but 50%?

I think some of you just need to get out more, stop being so darned concerned that your neighbor MIGHT be getting something your not, and live YOUR life. Enjoy it.

Does Lewisburg have a Noise Law or Disturbing the Peace Laws?

Some of those fireworks shot last night at 12 oclock PM. or after sounded like dynamite or small booms! So strong shook the ground and house!
Never heard such how can animals, dogs, cats, babies, old people sleep and one sleep? Sounds like dynamite or booms all over town? Where is the Lewisburg Mayor and City Council if they allow fireworks shot after 9-10 O’clock or allow fireworks with such noise and power that some even shakes the ground when they go off?
Was that not where the Boston Boomers got their powder out of fireworks to make their booms?
Was there a fireworks display that went wrong yesterday in the US and injured several people? What is Lewisburg going to do just wait till someone gets killed or hurt before they realize the danger of fireworks?

Maybe your questions should be directed to Chief Forbis and the Lewisburg Police department .The ciy council only makes policy as in the time fireworks can and can't be shot. It is up to the Chief and the police to carry out the policy that the council passes! If there is a problem it seems it is with enforcement which would fallback on the police department. Ty calling Chief Forbis and ask him your questions.

It's not the people's job to tell the Chief but the Mayor's and City Council Jobs!
Is the Mayor and city Council not responsible for to make the Ordances and direct the police Chief Forbis to see that those are enforced?
Where is the peace, quite, clean air and safety Lewisburg Residents / animals should expect?

Some of those Fireworks sounded like Commerical Fireworks, so loud even like small booms being shot late at night!
So loud would shake the ground, house, why not go to the top boss The Mayor City Council and let them do their job and tell the Police Chief!

I think they went completely overboard with the private resident fireworks. The problem here. The chief wants to keep people off his back and the sheriff wants to be re-elected. Something needs to done. Nothing best than right now. They are shooting off fireworks right now 9:30 am in the neighborhood.

If enough people call the Mayor, and City Council to complain maybe they do something!
Wonder if someone was to shoot those loud fireworks at midnight out beside the Mayor's and City Council Homes how would they like that?
Would they call the police then and get something done?
There is a difference between firecrackers and comerical fireworks displays in some parts of town there was fireworks displays!
So loud any deft person could not sleep!
