Surely some one will run that wants to make about $70, thousand a year plus benefits do very little except look pretty and has some common sense.
Does that office have a $140,000.00 budget for two and how much does each make? Someone said the Mayor makes over $70,000.00 a year plus benfits and does his sec. make the rest?

Not connected to any of the past elected offices some stranger from the North or Mexico that
HAS NO LOCAL COUNTY CONNECTIONS.

Maybe an Illegal Immigrant would make a good County Mayor.

We are over ready for change in MC and not the Obama like change. The current mayor visited my business when he was running for office and never seen him since. We will not vote for him, nor will any of our family members who all vote religiously. I would vote for a drunk from the finish line before I vote for him.

What does the Counties Mayor's office pay some say over $70 Thousand Dollars a Year with benefits, like good looking private secretary, Health Insurance, and Retirement, can you be out of the office any time visiting the sick and attending funerals, parties and social functions eating for free and my bet the office will pay for vacation and business recruiting trips, shopping for the county, what are the qualifications for that office, must not be much?
You would think every unemployed person in Marshall County would run for that job then we could pick the devil from the witch as to the last election.

People run, I would dare say if you did not sdvertise it would cost only your time and the qulification must not be much at all maybe the local paper will list the quilfications and the salvary paid.

Who ever get elected County Mayor should open the County Court House Public Offices up on Saturday!

Those are public offices there to serve the public.

For when do people who have a public job from 7 or 8 in the mornings too 4 or 5 in the evenings 5 days a week have the time too do their personal business especially people who live in Chapel Hill or Cornersville?

Yes it is when you realize what that office pays some say over $70 Thousand a year $70,000.00 with benefits and you are basically your own boss, hire your own secretary you would think two friends would get together and agree on who would be the secretary and run for that office. I really think it needs to be a woman in that office any way.
Maybe MAN will run she would make a good one!

It cost nothing to run if you do not advertise and with unemployment like it is there should be 100,s looking for a job like that.
Go to the Election Office and get the paper work Unemployed Run Who knows get enough in the race and us all will have a better pick.

It seems you don't even have to head the County Commission and only a GED or High School Education is required I think’ pick up paper work at the election office at the old Hardison School don’t let them talk you out of running.

Look at some of the past ones who have been elected you never know anyone could get elected.$70, 000.00 dollar a year job with all kind of extra benefits unemployed what are you waiting for?

What could happen as seen as fun possibilities?
Who really watches what goes on in local Government Offices and why even have a Mayor's Office when the County Mayor don't even head the County Commission?

Look at the possibilities of being Marshall County Mayor

You might make over $70, 000.00 a year and run an office that some say is budgeted at $140,000.00 a year with benefits.
Just think you and your best friend could make a deal both help each other and one run for the office with the agreement of the other to get the secretary job or husband and wife could run as a team and have it a little family affair, or you know that special person, the little wife don’t know about, get real think about the future possibilities!

Now let’s get down to the extras

Free Health Insurance
Retirement
Free Lunch with local Wheeler Dealers or even out of Town call it industrial recruiting for the county
Even a boy’s night out at the Go Go Club to entertain visiting business or industrial leaders.
Free Vacation Trips too meet with people from China, Alaska in the summer and Hawaii in the winter, Vegas in slow times you know the saying what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
May be free use of condos in Fla. belonging too local and out of Town wheelers Dealers, and potential county contractors.
Travel with the local Industrial recruiter or even your honey when your or his office has a little extra county or city money.
Out of office at your discursion to attend funerals, visit the sick, party, and do a little politic got to get elected again and again would not want to give this up,
Come in late and go home early.
Maybe a personal cell phone to use as your own
Go to some county meetings but be sure to sit and not say a thing just listen and smile.
Go to Nashville at least once a month or week see and be seen stop at cool Springs and pick up some drinks for the county mayors office call it a county business trip.
Use the county Cars, trucks, and go under cover as on secret business trips to recruiter new industry too the County always working on recruiting new business keeps a secret industrial account to use for the extras like office supplies and etc.

It is sad that these men are the only choices. It is bad enough in this county now, but with SP voting for landfill expansion I am not sure he wants what is best for this county. I think he would be easily bought off. And I have heard that he is lazy from more than one person!

<quoted text>
Speaking of Lazy well, he should fit right in, every man that has had that office, from way back when, has been Lazy.

The office should not be lazy it should be the office that could and should self audit all the other offices in the County and should have been the office that took the Tire Stealing and mismanagement at the school bus garage deal to the grand jury but the Mayor just lets the County Commission run over him when he took office and seams to not want to do nothing.

I voted against the former Mayor and worked to help get this guy elected but will be if I vote, voting against this present Mayor.

I know Mr. Poarch also and lazy is the last word I would use to describe him. I've known him to have 2 jobs at one time and still see him at the rec center with his family. He is a good person and I think he will try to do what is best for the county. His family has been through alot and I think that will make him more compassionate to the needs of the community. I know he is all about bringing jobs to the area. I will be voting for him.

Mr. Poarch is one of the most honest, hard-working man in Marshall County. I have been reading articles in the newspaper that constantly talk about all of the actions he has been taking to improve the county. The newspaper is missing several things he has done though. It did cover; however, that he refused to spend tens of thousands of dollars for the clocks at the court house. He is also helping the county by trying to bring businesses to marshall county. He already has plans for this. He is not a Lazy man at all!!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Aquarius

This is another day when financial matters cause trouble, as Mars reverses in your seventh house. What started off as a minor niggle with a partner or an opponent yesterday could now escalate into a full-blown row, but at least this will give you the chance to get certain things out into the open. Legal issues from the past may become ugly. If you're pointing the finger of blame at someone, don't get so heated that you accuse them of everything under the sun.
