I'm laughing at the part where you actually expect me to believe you're black.<quoted text>
I assume your laughing at the part that there are black conservatives. This probably goes against every thing that you've been lead to believe nor are we as rare as unicorns.
On October 16, Steffawn Spriggs was arraigned for the charges of murder of the first degree, recklessly endangering another person, discharging a firearm into an occupied home, and person not to possess a firearm.

I never expected you to believe me. It really didn't matter. In liberal eyes I'm a unicorn, we don't exist. Still it doesn't change the fact that lowering the standard for one race is still racism.
Also my family is conservative they are also black but we are not from this area.
#32 Oct 25, 2012
LOL! Okay, I'll play along. Tell me - do you experience any form of discrimination in society? Have you even been pulled over by the police for no reason or followed in a store or received inferior service in a restaurant?
#33 Oct 25, 2012
On a daily basis...lol...NO! Never pulled over for just being black if thats what you mean. This was my fault (over 15 yrs ago). And never questioned by police or followed by them. In a store yes, have been followed but only because they are pushing their merchandise not in the way that would be discriminating. I grew up in the city I know what trouble looks like so if I followed some kid nowadays it wouldn't be because he was black but because I'm suspicious of all people. I dont know where youre going with this but everyone eventually gets discriminated against all Im saying is people need to be judged on their skills or abilities and never by their race or gender. If the SC rules that the standards can be lowered for someone of color or gender then its racism despite if its considered legal or not. I dont want my kids accepted into college because theyre black; I want them accepted because they worked hard to get in to college.
This to me makes it look like someone isnt as smart or hard working because they are black, white, red, yellow, brown or male and female (you choose) and that the bar needs to be lowered to get them in because this school may have more white people in there than any other race and now quotas are needed.
There are also times that discrimination is needed. I know youre looking at this in shock . But certain jobs within the military there is discrimination based on gender and this is for good reason (IMO).

How do you respond to a post like this?
People post vile shit like this here all the time, yet you have never - NEVER - confronted it. Why not?
#35 Oct 26, 2012
There are a lot of racist idiots out here on both sides and when I see something that is just blatantly racist or moronic, I never respond because I think it just fuels them to spew more hatred. I don't believe that you're a racist but I do believe that your view towards people of color is racial bias and that I think can be reasoned with. You're intentions are good but the way it is done I don't agree with.
Just ignore all the idiots who want this to be about racism. If you respond to them then to them it seems as if they have gotten inside your head. Just post your views respectfully and defend them and only respond when someone is trying to legitimately to debate the topic. It works for me maybe it'll work for you as well.
I think most people believe that you live to antagonize others on the Topix forum. Maybe you should consider a reboot to focus on the topic of debate instead of a tit-for-tat. Personally I think it would gain you more creditability. Also if you notice that the majority of posts seem to be personal attacks. This doesnt help your side at all because those who agree with you dont post unless its a personal attack and those on the extreme right make racist comments which reinforces that all Republicans are racist or bigots.
#36 Oct 26, 2012
Well I'm glad Martin Luther King didn't have your attitude toward racism - just ignore them; confronting them just fuels their hatred.
You're amazing. You don't confront blatantly racist comments. Instead, you call those of us who do racist.
Letting racism slide helps perpetuate it. Attacking those of us with enough moral courage to confront racism and calling us racist emboldens the actual racists. Claiming that legitimate attacks on actual racism is playing the race card provides cover for racism.
You create a climate where racism thrives, nerd. You ENABLE racism. You are part of the problem.
And you most definitely lying when you claim to be black.
#37 Oct 26, 2012
You have to look where you are now. This is a place where anyone with a computer can say as he or she likes. How do you address idiot kids who thrive on getting attention from you? You ignore them!
This is NOT the same as confronting people face to face. You cannot confuse the two, just as MLK was confronted with racist journalist, what did he do? He ignored them!
Also to use my view on ignoring on-line racism from idiots in an open forum like Topix as a litmus test of whether I'm black or not is silly and because you don't like what I have to say about it because I choose to confront it differently then you; you judge my ethnicity as an untruth is slanted with bigotry as if someone who is black would never be able to just "ignore" the racist.
I would rather focus on my message and not get lost in the weeds. People who post their intolerances of others race or religion are cowards which is why they post here and never IRL
They call you names and you call them names and it never ever gets you anything but anguished and once you start playing their game you lose because now its just a game of slurs. Those on your side are affected because now they become part of the verbal attacks just for posting their opinion and somehow I dont think MLK would ever approve of calling someone else a name because they called you one. I think he would think its cowardly to not show your face when people print racist comments.
#38 Oct 26, 2012
You would rather focus on your message and not get lost in the weeds? What is you message then? Because all you post here is defense of politicians who systematically implement policies that disadvantage the most vulnerable in society in favor of the powerful. Is that your message - give the haves more at the expense of the have-nots?
And pointing out that someone's comments are racist isn't name-calling. It's truth-naming. And it's the only path available to decent, moral people.
#39 Oct 26, 2012
You know what - fine, ignore them.
But that's not what you do, is it? No, you attack those of us with the integrity to denounce them. You DEFEND them. You provide cover for them. You EMBOLDEN them.
It's one thing to ignore personal attacks from obvious trolls. It's another thing altogether to attack those who confront blatant racism and claim that our truth-naming is race-baiting or lies based on political differences.
You're part of the problem, nerd. You are the Topix racist's best friend.

Well that's what makes this country so great! Everyone has opportunity to create their own wealth and it is not done on the backs of the poor. If someone wants a job then they will get one and it will not be a poor person that hires them. They are also paid a fair wage and what they do with their wage is their own business. Those who are the "have nots" will have to work to get what they want in life they will have to pursue what they want just as every other American.
And as far as the "Truth-Naming" or "Name Calling" then that is certainly your right, but that is not equated with morality. Those of us who address it differently then you does not make it immoral. You choose to stand on the left and I on the right but that shouldn't make us mortal enemies or indecent people.
#41 Oct 26, 2012
I realize you maybe a little upset over our discussion but we see things differenty and yet I've seen just as much racism and bigotry from the left as the right, and usually your voice is only silent until someone from the right comments. You are doing the same exact thing because you "Know" it's just not worth your time to address idiots. Does that make you part of the problem as well? Do you not DEFEND them? It certainly EMBOLDEN them.
#42 Oct 29, 2012
You're lying. I call out racism where ever I see it, and you know it.
#43 Oct 29, 2012
Actually you don't. I consistently see you and others call Republicans racist or try to link Republican views to racism or cite republicans as old white men. To me that can be worse than racism because you're intentionally trying paint a party in a negative light with a lie. Instead of discussing policies you're consistently engaged in name calling as if that will someone do your side or anyone some good or change someones view to your way of thinking.
Personally I think you either don't know or don't care on how to engage a conversation with equal respect of opposing views. This isn't some sly way of trying to insult you it is just my personal observation. I like to believe that we blog here to express our view with hopes of understanding someone elses opposing view but that is far from what is actually happening on the Chambersburg Forum but on other forums there is a lot more mutual understanding and a lot less of the childish games of Im right, youre wrong.
#44 Oct 29, 2012
Sorry, but those aren't examples of racism.
Sorry, but that's a false statement. You are distorting the facts. I debate the facts and post policy issues here all the time. And I only call names in response to someone calling me names.
You've never done that with me. I post objective facts and you flat-out deny them. You've never demonstrated any capacity at all for understanding of any point of view different from your own.
Please spare us this holier than thou nonsense. You're making things up about me and ascribing traits to yourself that you simply never display here.
#45 Oct 30, 2012
They are examples of bigotry and youre splitting hairs. You condone the language or you engage it in yourself. An example would be (Bobby64s choice of words)
2nd: Not a false statement nor a distortion of the facts I was just hoping to bring some civility into it but thats your opinion.
3rd and final: You post facts based on what You want to be facts and because people dont agree with your logic then typically you engage in some sort of slander. I think most expect it from you. I also think that youre incapable of debate unless you can get the last word in as if that will win the day. You either want it your way or not at all; for you there is no middle ground and that is NOT how either side operates IMO. You can cast all the insults you like about me or who or what I am if it helps you sleep better but this was my effort to come to a more civil discussion instead of what it has been.
#46 Oct 30, 2012
No matter how polite you make your language, the discussion isn't civil when you tell lies and make false accusations.
Pointing out that people make racist comments isn't itself racist.
I have accurately described my posts. It's not my *opinion*, it's the truth. When you characterize them differently, you're lying. That also is not an *opinion*, it's an accurate recounting of the facts.
I post facts based on what objective reality recognizes as facts. They are also not a matter of opinion or what a "want" them to be - they simply ARE. When people deny reality, I point that out. You may be offended by that, but pointing out when someone is lying or distorting reality is not slander - it is truth-telling.
When you deny that overtly racist comments are racist, you are distorting reality.
When you claim that confronting racism is itself racist, you are distorting reality.
These are not opinions. These are objective facts. Just because you don't WANT them to be true doesn't make them false or a matter of opinion.
You are either profoundly dishonest or profoundly disconnected from reality. I'm not disagreeing with you because we have different political leanings or because I have a different opinion. I am disagreeing with you because you are objectively, verifiably, factually WRONG.
And I frankly don't care whether it's because you're lying or simply deluded - you are WRONG and you are responsible for it.
#47 Oct 30, 2012
Ok...Now I get it, What you say is the absolute truth and therefore there is not further discussion after you speak and anyone who disagrees is either wrong, delude or lying and only your opinion matters because you are obviously the smartest one on the internet. Your words are all that matters, there will be no debate, there will be no respect for others opinions but your own
It's unfortunate that the rest of us aren't as wise and you nor as intelligent, it must be great to be a liberal king.
I'll just continue my meager existence as a uninformed conservative. On Nov. 6th we'll see what the rest of the country has decided.
Don't forget your Voter ID you'll be needing it!
#48 Oct 30, 2012
Wrong again. Critical thinking really isn't your strong suit, is it? LOL!
You are confusing facts, truth, and reality with opinion.
I'm not coming here posting my opinion. I come here posting FACTS. You don't like the facts, so you dismiss them. I'm here to remind you that when you form opinions contrary to the facts and reality, you are wrong.
And you are most certainly wrong. That isn't an opinion. That is fact-based reality.
And I will certainly NOT be taking my ID along to vote on Tuesday because the law says I don't need it to vote. Anyone who would make it a condition of voting will be breaking the law.
