I guess now we'll hear from the peanut gallery that Joe Laria is part of the cabal!

If Newsday's wrong, Parla's got some libel/slander case!

Is Joe Laria one of the Three Stooges?

Is Joe Laria on the IT school board?

Is Joe Laria lying? Why would he? What's the upside?

Why was Parla eager to leave Island Trees 2 years ago? Nobody knew about the lead problem then... except him and his cronies.

Wait until Newsday begins the investigation of the financial irregularities in the district. That's Part II. Bid-rigging, change orders, conspiracy, on and on and on! Tick,tick,tick...BOOM!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to see the idiots try to defend this and any other corrupt information that is going to come from Mr. Parla's closet. I heard the money investigation is next. Can you say change orders. Boy I hope no one signed one of those without first looking at what they were signing!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if this guy from Hempstead is a friend of certain intelligent board members and a concerned resident, that have spread lead the around the basement and brought all of this on the district. How could they try to do something right for our taxpayers? Think really hard and come up with a defense, and start with the name calling because that is the only avenue for a person with NO intelligence can go to. Can you say moron.

Wow look how the wall is crumbling. Last year we lost one. This year we lose the big fish, I think others will follow.

Let me see a guy leaves a district with tenure. A district with 2,700 students, 20 minutes from ones home. Applies for almost every position on Long Island and gets turned down and told to run for the hills. Only thing he took it literally. The district he is going to is around 2 hours from Long Island. They have around 12,000 students, and he is getting paid almost the same money. Wow what an upgrade. Let me see if no one wants you on Long Island. Why would you leave the district??

Is there an investigation out there? Are the environmental Gods (agencies) sending down the "grim reaper" to collect the dead.

Wait this is not over, it has only just begun. I actually can't wait to see the next chapter of this endless saga. Remember you nuts all stood behind him and the others who say they knew nothing. The cat is out of the bag and watch how many people come out of the wood work to to show us the true James Parla. Stand behind the guy who is running for the hills. You know what join him.

Come on FRIENDS OF JIM.

Well it is called 'passing the trash'. An awful superintendent is finally pushed out of a district and...wait for it...winds up on the curb of another school district. Can't one district communicate with another? Can't wait to see the next character who shows up and Island Trees. Remember, due diligence in investigating before you hire is a good thing. Just ask Massapequa. The former superintendent was quite something. Makes for juicy reading.

This whole thing is an embarrasmemt. We need new people to run this school district. Including getting those out of the board that should not be there. I give creidt to those whom stepped up to the plate and opened up the eyes of the taxpayers to let them know what has been going on here.

How is this individual now going to speak about our upcoming budget to the public, which is a serious issue for all taxpayers. He will not be a part of our district and therefore has nothing to do with the upcoming budget vote. The board needs to think about having someone else present this issue to the public.

Say goodbye to another worthless administrator who did nothing for three years except search for a new job.

Superintendent pay needs to be based on performance metrics - no solutions = minimal pay. Now the district will whine about how hard it is to attract 'talent' to LI. Get a clue, we don't need 125 separate districts each with their own superintendent and executive staff. Try cutting the districts to 20 and you will have plenty of talent to pick from, and you would be able to reduce salaries since there would be plenty of competition for a few spots.

A survey of best practices of suburban school districts around the country shows that combined, larger districts provide better classroom education at much lower costs. Long Island school districts are a throw-back to the early 1900's, inefficient, out-dated, and corrupt. We need to change our districts to reflect a more enlightened and modern approach. Twenty districts is more than enough for Nassau and Suffolk.

Change is coming. We can't afford to continue to operate these small isolated inbred districts that have very little accountability and oversight. LI school performance continues to slide when compared to other suburban districts across the nation.

Wake up!

More and more people are understanding this. There are large suburban Virginia school districts turning out the best and the brightest and there isn't a superintendent and an entire administration every five square miles. Fairfax, Virginia is a prototype for the change we desperately need on Long Island.

Who will oppose this? The unions and superintendents associations, of course.

Long Islanders are finally waking up.

$400K for one Levittown Super & over $200K for the other?

STOP the INSANITY!!

For those of you who will reply "move", that will leave no tax base to continue to support this nonsense because no one is moving onto Long Island because of this insanity! We are here and we have to fix it.

What planet do you live on???? This lead problem has been ongoing for over 5 years. It began with SEGERDAHL. Parla inherited it.

I wish Newsday would investigate all the wasted taxpayer dollars over at Nassau County Jail. A former IV drug abuser and alcoholic is currently sitting in MOUNT SINAI HOSPITAL with two corrections officers being paid to guard him, while he awaits a LIVER transplant, paid for by US taxpayers!!! Hello??????? Can someone please start investigating these types of things?????? Newsday? Anyone? Or will all the liberals say that criminals who abuse IV drugs and alcohol, and are incarcerated for committing crimes, are entitled to such things???????? His family isn't paying for his medical care, we are. If he was NOT in jail, do you think his family would come up with the cash to pay for such an extreme and expensive procedure? Nope, they'd let him rot.
