I'm afraid this article doesn't accurately capture my interview comments.
While we at Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society have certainly offered to help the MSPCA take their remaining animals when they close on March 31st, I anticipate that most of those animals will be adopted or absorbed by other MSPCA adoption centers.
And while we do not anticipate accepting than 6,000 more animals after the closing of the adoption center, it is likely that we will feel the pressure to accept many more than we do now.
It's unfortunate that the details of this report may only add to confusion about this important topic. I appreciate the opportunity to clarify.
