My sister doesn't have cell phone service where she is at and I don't know how exactly to go about trying to get ahold of someone who will talk to me about what they plan to do with her.

Well by looking at the opposing post you can see the intellectual level of the writer with that said I have been involved with VSYR since 1998 in one way or another. The place really is trying to make a difference in the lives of kids who did not have the advantages many of us had growing up. I have seen a few of the kids I worked with at VSYR in prison, where I now work, and I have seen some who have succeeded. Just like anything in life you win some and you lose some. What it really comes down to is the choices these kids make and at least they are given a choice. I commend both George and Joann Becker for what they do and hope they continue to keep up the fight for the future generations of forgotten children. As for the girls, yes they now have a unit which houses girls and I personally know the woman who works with the girls, they could not be in better hands. Give these kids a chance to choose something more than they were given before VSYR some will choose to live their lives right some will not but doesn’t everyone deserve a chance? As for the all the horror stories on this post, they are simply not true and a product of an overactive imagination.

I lived in that nightmare for over a year and the harsh lessons I learnt from the "christian" staff and the little monsters they made worse still haunt me. Abuse of ALL forms runs rampant there. Paroles and overgrown bullies (some of which were perverts) staff the place. Inner city punks are warehoused there to steep in each others psychological filth. Any decent person that goes there is either silenced, ruined or driven out. It is a hell on earth that no child should be subjected to and any adult should be Hung for supporting. I hope there is a special place in Muspell for George Becker and his cronies (especially Tony Shaw) for the abuses I and and the other residents suffered in that festering scab

The staff did similar things when I was there. They feed the kids the barest minimum the state requires regardless of nutritional necessities and dope up any kid that they feel can pose a threat. Tony Shaw made initially roughing up new residents under his watch part of his SOP. Staff would pay residents food to do their dirty work and EVERYONE working would look the other way when these situations came up. Mike Emert would put on a dog and pony show for the residents to build false trust; when in reality he was one of the most corrupt ones there, smoothing things over for the administration when anything serious came up

You were told quite wrong.
Ken Scallion (staff) intentionally broke Vernon Quinn's (resident) ankle while Charles Whitehead (staff) already had the child positively restrained. Ken was 'fired' for a week then rehired and put in charge of the house Vernon lived in.
I was there for less than a week when Tony Shaw slammed me on a wall for talking about my religious beliefs because they differed from the programs.
Of coarse the perpetrater will falsely claim innocence; there are 3 sides to every story.

i think you lil punks need to quit crying about vsyr because if you would have not been lil punk ass kids that think you are tuff bad ass gangsters and your mommy and daddy let you do what you want instead of busting your ass you wouldnt have been there any ways. and for the ones that had no where to go bc your parents didnt want you for some reason than you should have reported these thing to the state. you say they wont do anything about this bull shit i was accused of giving a boy a cig and got fired because i wouldnt give it to him so he ran and told george that i did and got me fired

Whatever! Staff would trade cigs and sodas for favors they couldn't do ALL the time! I know I got jumped for tobacco on at least one occasion. A lot of the kids in that cesspool are warped up little bastards. Some got sent there by fickle courts.
And they have no right to impose their religious views. The rules are messed up enough but then the staff uses faith to justify abuse when their is someone who disagrees.

Not all the kids are punks or thugs. Some of those kids were born to parents who don't care and have gotten too old where most people don't want to foster them since they typically choose the younger ones. I know from experience

Muslin? Jew? I almost forgot how classy the people are down there. And FYI there is way more out there. You're assumptions are hilarious if you knew me.
Ever heard of the 1st amendment? It not only applies to speech but also religion. How an organization can receive tax dollars and feel the arrogance to suspend rights of humans is beyond me.

I know Dustin Combs personally and everything he said was true. And no matter how much the few good staff tried to protect him and others too, there are many more bad staff that run them out for failure to conform to the "unspoken rules" And yes, I hotlined them, and no, nothing was done. Tell them how the good staff is treated too Dustin. Sing like a bird now that you are free of that place...please. And I know you can write, I used to enjoy reading your stories.

You must not really be a Mother! I am nauseous after reading your posts. This boy is telling you what happened to him and you are ridiculing him. Dustin and Donny I am really sorry for what you went through while there, but please know that not everyone around here is like "momma". Please don't stop telling people your stories! Don't stop until someone finally listens and gets something done. Call the news maybe some publicity would help!
