I am still trying to figure out where the story is here. Sounds to me like a big case of sour grapes for Ms. Buckley. Be gracious in your loss and move on!
Ms Buckley has nothing to gain from this story and was only brought into it when questioned by the Sentinel reporter. Ms Buckley has moved on... She continues to go to work EVERYDAY. Maybe if you took a closer look and became familiar with the job of Register of Deeds you would understand why the job is at the Registry and not at with "the folks at the Rotary Clubs"especially during business hours!

Classy....I see that you are turning to personal attacks on her family now.
I'm not interesting in discussing your opinions.
At least have the decency to talk about the issues and players at hand....and leave your personal shortcomings for another arena.
I will reiterate my position ....if you don't like the system....then don't like the system. However, as mentioned previously....what legal or ethical boundaries have been overstepped?
Don't you think it is unethical to collect such a salary, which is funded by tax payers dollars and not report to work?

You know what's interesting? I can't find any postings from you prior to this story breaking. And now, you're the self-appointed Topix cop, telling me what I can and can't post.
And, nice ad-hominem attack. You don't know my educational background. But, one thing is for sure: I don't intentionally mislead people. If you're wondering what I'm talking about, take a look at the first bullet at http://www.kathyd.com/ . If one did not know better, one might think that Kathy D graduated from the Providence College law school, rather than the New England School of Law. If Providence College had a law school (which it doesn't), the P.C. name would add a lot of credibility and prestige. One more example at an attempt to deceive the public?
"Outside Looking In" - nice attempt to distance yourself from Ms. Daigneault. If you are not she, you're certainly very closely connected.
Never looked at the site. Maybe you could bring that to her attention. Or, are you going to just complain about it. Thus proving your Armchair warrior status once again.

As far as your "topic cop" comment.....make up your mind what you are upset about. You continue to complain about issues you are unhappy with that have no more traction than making a decision on election day.

Are you willing to expose yourself to public scrutiny? Good for you if you are. We need more like you if that is the case and I applaud you for utilizing your education and showing passion for your community.

As far as posting prior to this chain and my connection to the discussed......sorry to disappoint you once again.

Way to deflect.

The Register of Deeds was elected in good faith. Her job performance doesn't pass the smell test. The onus is on her to prove that she works more than 3.1 hours a day.

My fear is that we'll pay her full-time wages for part-time performance until the 2018 election. As the Sentinel editorial stated, hopefully the voters will have long-term memories.

My other fear is that, once she's out of office, she'll end up with a no-show appointed state job. Unfortunately, that's often how things work in this state.

As far as subjecting myself to public scrutiny, I choose not to. I believe that my volunteer efforts provide more direct results than I would see as an elected official. That being said, Ms. Daigneault has chosen to put herself in this position and should be prepared to deal with the repercussions of her actions.

There must be some kind of ethics charge that can brought against her. I mean if she's cheating taxpayers out of money through her salary isn't that unethical behavior?

No need to defend Buckley. After all she was probably the only one the reporter could find at work to interview.

Yes, let's get back to the point. Ms. Buckley desperately wants the position as ROD. In fact, she even made the claim that she was the only qualified candidate to run for the position in decades. Now that was a politically savey statement to make! Essentially, she is calling the public idiots for not voting for her....past and present.
So yes, let's get back to the point. This is not about "productivity assessments". It's about Ms. Buckley very publicly having a pity party because she lost. All of her efforts are geared towards her holding the position of ROD.
It seems as though she may be cutting her nose off in spite of her face. But then again, she is the "only qualified candidate" right? What is she going to do if these "productivity assessments" eliminate the position? What is she qualified to do then?
As it relates to "office morale is awful". To be blunt....grow up! Of course office morale is awful.
1st. You have a witch hunt being executed by a sore loser candidate (and her internal allies who work for the ROD) who continue to stomp their feet like children a the supermarket who want candy at the checkout.
2nd. It's a state job! Stop being so naive! You do not work for the state if you want a nice warm and fuzzy happy work environment. It's all bonus if your lucky enough to have a state job that you can tolerate while having access to the benefits.
So yes, let's get back to the point. Ms Buckley (and her friends) are having a pity party. Please do not patronize the public anymore than you already have! It's not about productivity assessments and calendars. It's about Ms. Buckley's ego.
Let it go Ms. Buckley.......let it go.
What does Ms. Buckley have to do with Title Examiner Tenny Komar or the CBS Investigative Team that investigated and exposed Ms. Daigneaults work ethic.

Even if Ms. Buckley did blow the whistle, which I very much doubt, it does not justify Ms. Daigneault's poor work record.

Outside Looking In is attempting to deflect from the real issue: Ms. Daigneault collecting full-time pay for part-time work.

I fear this sort of behavior is common in politics. Take the Obabmas for example. Today the Prez played a round of golf with Tiger Woods at an excusive yaught club in Florida while the wife and kids are on a skiing trip all on tax payer money. Didn't they just get back from Hawaii? Maybe she just follows his example.

Very true because I don't have an unlimited supply of money. I'm thinking maybe Tiger was in Abu Dhabi not to play golf but as a spy and was giving the Prez the details.

They are "networking" and trying their best at figuring out together how to get through as many holes as possible with the least amount of effort. Give them a break, will yeah?

To get back on track of this topic. What will be the result of this person earning 90k and not showing up for work? Can they cut her salary? If she was paid hourly it would be an entire different story. Maybe they need a time clock?

I do enjoy the articles. She shows up for an average of 3 hours a day if she even shows up at all...I guess 3 hours of playing solitare on the computer wears her out.

It's really a shame this all didn't come out before her re-election. And why did all these people wait so long to dime her out? Think about it, 90k at 6 years is over a half million taxpayer dollars, not to mention all the perks involved. Does she have a stipend besides all the write offs? If she's been writing off travel expenses and business expenses all this time then the IRS seriously needs to review her numbers and if Ms. Buckley knew any of this then why didn't she bring it up during her own campaign? Would it have been considered a smear campaign for all the uninformed voters? Just wondering.....

Lynch, if so she would need to log into a secure account. It's all public record.

Who cares if was she who did blow the whistle? If she did she's a hero and I'm glad someone did. As taxpayers we are getting screwed enough without paying her 90k for socializing at a friends house all day. Where are her morals?

Some people work in shifts. He/she could have been ending their work day when they posted.
