This is the second shooting at the same address in about a years time.
Miss Lisa Wrong, please step out of your home or office and take a good look around at your city. Forget the restoring of trolleys from the 1920's to bring the parents of FSU students down Main Street after seeing a play at the University. It will never work till You get rid of the Riff Raff. You're wasting time and money on that idea Miss Wrong. Would you go drinking down on Main street on a Friday/Saturday night? I didn't think so.
Also, I really don't think the parents of college kids want to be mingling with the scumbags in this shit hole of a town u try to run. Maybe if you tried flipping on the street lights on Water street (and others) but particularly Water (because you must admit it is pretty scary looking when U come off Rte 2 and head into town.), but maybe if the city was lit up at night it would help. Yes? No?
Lastly, please give the FPD what they need to control public safety because whatever they have to work with seems to not be enough. The only time we see our PD is at an incident such as yesterdays.
What will it take, an innocent child getting hit by a stray bullet or attacked by unleashed and un - collared Pit Bull to open your eyes? Please help stop the madness above all.

Just another "Responsible Gun Owner" I guess.
Streetlights aren't the problem
Tough Main Street isn't the problem
Mayor Wong, isn't the problem
Irresponsible people with Guns are the problem with guns.
But, since the NRA controls all that is said and done concerning Guns, simple background checks can't be passed in the Republican fillibuster Senate!

If this turns out to be, most likely, a street punk with an illegally obtained hand gun, how would a background check have stopped the gun from getting into their hands?
#4 May 21, 2013
Most of the streetlights are back on. They did not announce this in the paper to see if anyone would notice.
I have gun sitting right in front of me on my desk, I donít see it moving by itself? Hmmmmm, maybe itís the person who pulls the trigger?
Welfare brings crime, people on welfare have too much time on their hands. They get bored since they donít work and they stir up drama. The drama leads to confrontations. These confrontations become deadly.

There was a shooting on cedar street where someone got shot. We need more patrols out of cars. We need more detectives. We need better community relations.
When is the last time any city council or Mayor walked around Fitchburg? The city is ready to explode.
I have written to the mayor in this regard. The gang problem has seen a massive increase over the winter months. There is a gang war. They are jockeying for drug sale profits.
We need a community meeting. I am running for Mayor in order to bring these situations to light.
And YES, it is partly no street lights as crimes are committed in shadows.
The particular shooting on Marshall street was done at 9am. There was an officer at a Unitil site. We need a massive increase of police within Fitchburg.
We need the FBI, we need the State police. Businesses are leaving, unemployment is taking hold of Fitchburg. We need leadership!
As Mayor, YES, I will put in for Federal and State funding for a Fitchburg connector. It is called eminent domain. We need better access to and from Fitchburg in order to better commerce.
Citizens need disposable income increases to be able to spend in the local economy.
With a connector Fitchburg can propose for an FBI headquarters within Fitchburg and a new State police barracks as part of this project.
Guns are dealt with lightly in Fitchburg. One year in prison for a gun without a permit. Why wouldn't a 145 pound soaken wet wannabe gang leader have a gun? They chance just one year in prison.
We need outside law enforcement to deal with this very serious situation. The drug dealers and gang leaders control Fitchburg. The Mayor, city councilors and police are not outside as much as these dealers and gangsters.
We need to approach our youth. We need to gain the respect of our children. We cannot do this by force but by respect!! We need to mentor our minority citizens concerning police and fire jobs.
All these jobs have been taken by family members as they have a lock on these positions. We need to request outside fire and police to encourage our population towards those careers.
They are lucrative careers and we also need to make sure that police and fire do not conduct themselves in an arrogant unethical way. When the city officially allows such unethical behaviors while the citizens are watching every second then we will not have change.
Mayor, it is time to care; stand up and hold city emploiyees accountable so that our youth can see and follow by example. We have a situation where it is 'in your face, double standards of law and rules" so an "us against them" mentality takes hold.
When police see a group of kids, they need to approach by stating "hey what is up guys"? In essence an officer friendly which goes a long way. Yes this is part of civility thinking.
You cannot fight fire with fire. We cannot address these situations with violence. Yes, aggression and force is a necessary evil sometimes like war is also.
Have these kids throwing footballs. Sports is a positive outlet. Fitchburg has mentors which they can turn to for assistance. There is a lot of talent in Fitchburg. There are kids on the fence that need to see that there is an alternative to gangs.
There is plenty of blame to go around!! We need to address this problem and stop allowing our very well paid Chief of police to be able to state "their is no increase in crime...".

Our fine police department has decided to put its efforts into enforcing speeding violations, as well as stepping up to low level and minor motor vehicle infractions. That is when they are actually on duty, that is. Needless to say; with an average of 56 paid days off per year; per officer, not counting paid holidays; more than 1/5 the time they are getting paid they are on their own time. Some fill their endless paid days off involved in personal hobbies and/or drinking; while others cash in on the endless paid police details where they earn time and a half pay with a 4 hour mininum, for hanging around doing nothing at all.
Yes, I am afraid that when you look at the cold hard facts; there is very little effort made by the police to step up to the actual criminals who are free to fire off guns and wander our streets.
It's a sad state of affairs; but lets face it: the police keep hiding behind the excuse that they are too understaffed to do their jobs. That sort of BS does not fly out in the private sector world; but it works like a charm when it comes to our highly paid publiuc servants.

You make a good point..if these guys are not on the job a full fifth of the time they have no excuse for crying a manpower shortage. But , and I mean BUT...your missing another important point. TRAINING! TRAINING ,TRAINING! we're talking about small town cops here. Thats why you see them pulling nothing but traffic duty...IT'S WHAT THEY KNOW. You can't expect these guys to go head to head with gang leaders. As well intentioned as they may be they are just going to get hurt. Either train what you've got or bring in ,a let's say , specialists.

I strongly feel that it is partly due to staffing shortages. I also see that there is an unbalanced staff on first shift.
There has been some changes in this regard but not enough. We need more detectives.
There is an increase in crimes but they are not being reported. Drug use has risen, gang activity has risen and the Chief states that both have fallen.
Enough. He gets paid very well and it is time to begin to produce better results.
There is no one there to hold them accountable. Go ahead and use me as an example. The Mayor has failed in this regard and the city council has also failed miserably.
The "rubber stamp" syndrome has to go!!! It is similar to the new trash system. Fitchburg has become a massive dump. Our lots are filled with trash, back yards have become full. This gives rats and other rodents a place to live.
There needs to be better efforts made. I am running for Mayor again and I am going to be twice as loud. Enough is Enough.
Issues are going to be discussed. Businesses have LEFT Fitchburg. Crime has skyrocketed amid our Chiefs blindness to this fact! Hold him accountable.
Does it take the election of an "ex-con" to bring attention to a crime problem filled with drugs and gangs????
Yes, it is true that I don't give a shit who knows who!!! I feel that this is what is needed.
When a Conry, a Starr or Demoura attempts to state "he just has an ax to grind"; I would tell them that maybe if they had an ax to grind that something would get done towards building a better and safer Fitchburg.
#10 May 21, 2013
I am that specialist. Yes, we need more Federal and State experts within Fitchburg to deal with this situation but we also need mentors for our youth.
We need mentors from professional sports. We need leaders with guts to speak out!
When is the last time that you seen ANY of our leaders in Fitchburg??? Where are they?? I haven't even any of them. They need to get out and walk the streets. Go out and meet the citizens.
Blame can be spread onto many people. I have been telling officials that they are wrong and that gangs and drugs are massive in Fitchburg and they have been forming in Fitchburg over the winter.
People think it is a joke! "Smoking of the Dragon" has taken a hold of Fitchburg. This is a cheap and safer method to use Heroin for the addict. Pills have taken off to the moon. Smoking of synthetic marijuana is way up as well as bath salts.
These are dangerous drugs; these are the drugs that the cannibals took recently as they were caught eating one guys face in public while naked and the other was eating a dog alive.
Gun use has been on the rise and domestic assaults have taken off like a rocket. These are always signs of major problems ahead. Drug use is up which means profit searches are also up to sell drugs especially in a jobless Fitchburg which has gotten worse over the winter.
There has been zero productive community meetings. At the last ward meeting I told the FSU liaisons that he was full of hog wash when he states that there is no problems in the college area.
Our leaders continue to allow all department heads and liaisons to speak BS.

Maniac buys a gun with no background check, maniac sells gun to street punk, street punk kills with initially LEGALLY purchased gun.
NO background check, no way of knowing if a maniac is buying a gun or if a normal, stable person is buying said Gun.
How can you be against a simple check to make sure a person with mental incapacity is buying a gun?
As for what's MOST LIKELY the case, ANOTHER RESPONSIBLE GUN OWNER, until they are not!!!!
#12 May 21, 2013
I agree with mental health checks. But let me remind you; the school shooter at the elementary had mental health problems but not a license to carry!
Many people with guns have mental problems!!! How many officers shoot themselves, their wives or each other??? How many COs?
Should we just declare that EVERY officer and CO are mentally safe??? Then why when many retire they go out on mental health pensions?
I say we need gun safety education!!! We need to teach people such as all these parents whom these nut cases took their guns and killed innocents that there guns should be mandated to be under lock and key!
It is crazy but true that all the current massacres have been committed by kids with family's that you declare to be VERY sane!!!!!!
The crime element that uses guns is supported by our judges who sentence them to a year in jail.
Supported by our incredibly "smart and revered" intellects who claim that drug dealing is an "non-violent" crime!!!!
Every criminal gun case involves drug use and/or drug dealing! You do not sell drugs without owning a gun in Fitchburg!!! Every drug dealer has a gun! The shooting on cedar and Marshall were both drug dealing related!!!!!
#13 May 21, 2013
These shooters grew up in Massive suburban homes with gigantic football field size yards!!! Their families bought machine guns with massive clips!!
What exactly did the family think they needed the ammunition for? Does any citizen really think that they will be able to take arms up with the government and their tanks and airplanes and drones ect...??
Now some whack job gun owner will think that they derserve and need to have armed drones at their disposal.
We are a society filled with no common sense, NO ACCOUNTABILITY for anyone that can afford a mansion and a yard to support a stadium!!!
Everyone states that such success makes them worthy of everything!!!!!! They are sane!!! They are the good people!!!!!!!!
Lets spend our time passing laws that state a person who served time cannot sell flowers, cannot work in hospitals, cannot work in substance abuse theaters, cannot even drive a cab.
So, we allow foreigners to drive our cabs as they send plot plans to terrorists!!! Real smart!!!
Do you know that they have street maps of Fitchburg in india and Pakistan as well as Boston and Worcester maps??
The self righteous have taken over society!!! Everything is now broken! Take a ride around Leominister and Fitchburg today!!! The ONLY construction projects being done are at "first responders' homes!!!!!
So, the Only consumer spenders spending in our Failing economy are city and state workers!!! Can anyone say "Failure"??????
Bin Laden stated that his goal was to destroy the American economy!! Can anyone state "succeeded??????
We need the average common sense people back in charge. We need the "people" back in leadership roles!!!
One firefighter dies and the country has a day off of work as tens of thousands of firefighters from around the country converge and shut down a city to conduct a funeral.
A cop got killed by a terrorists in boston and they filled fields with badges and uniforms. While an 8 yr olds life was taken and his sisters legs taken and their mother suffering with brain injuries sits in a hospital.
The point I am making is we need to stop this "first responder" mightier than God image!! The only thing we are missing is the golden calf!!!!
I think it is horrible that an officer or a firefighter dies but it all needs to stop! We are creating a society where all that is functioning is police and fire ONLY!!!! This will not sustain an economy on a small island!!!
Yes, have a nice respectful funeral service but stop shutting down society in GLOOMNESS when a tragedy happens.
Do you even know that India lost 100,000 citizens in a sunami? Their economy didn't collaspse! They didn't dedicate their dollar on securing their first responders!!!!!
A police officer is a police officer, a fire fighter is a firefighter and an Emt is an Emt. They are not a golden calf, they are not mother nature and they are not GODs. Yes many are brave, many are good people, many have revered jobs where they can make a hands on difference in saving lives. Society appreciates and realizes their importance but we cannot live everyday praising them like allah on rugs and we cannot stop functioning in our daily lives. And we cannot support any economy with their salaries excluysively as it doesn't work!!! Just check the massive amounts of unpaid pensions.

If you are that "specialist" then what is your specialty? Advocating cold blooded murder?
"I do not agree with who he did kill as he should of kept it more close to his list.He harmed the wrong people."
"Yes, at the end of the day and at the end of Dorners life as he came to a conclusion yes he should of harmed the people on his target list and Bratton was not one of them by the way as he just commented on Brattons' program that was being currently run into failure."
Here are those quotes put into context. I'm sure the voters would like an explanation.

Whoe , whoe , whoe...lots of resentment about backround checks an gun registration...look, I've had to have my HANDS registered since I was 18 years old ( for my ..lets say certain talents). I didn't like it but hey as long as thats the law. Never stopped me from keeping my hands with me at all times, even concealed.
#16 May 21, 2013
It seems to me it's people such as yourself who have a blind eye that is the problem. What does the NRA have to do with some crackhead with a gun. I rather ten good guys with guns up against simpletons who can't shoot straight to begin with. What we need is a gun buy back program out here and less blind people who only want to get involved from a keyboard.
It's worked in the past and will certainly work out here. I bet there would be a stock pile of illegal handguns within a months time.
#17 May 21, 2013
Hey dumb dumb, obviously you haven't been out walking the streets. The street lights have been on for a month now.

WOW that's terrible, shame on you! This post is now being sent to all public safety agencies around the country and I will make sure it is posted in the Sentinel and all other papers.
Obviously you have a problem with being a "undesirable".
Who are you? You don't get it. What committees have you sat on? What is your political experience? What is your job experience? Were you a councilor? Were you on the Redevelopment Authority?
You don't just get voted Mayor because of your ideal thinking. You need to have credibility and work you way up proving that you can handle each position along the way.
Again, you are?(puzzled, rolling my hand at you waiting for a credible answer)

You have to stop being so envious of public safety. Just because you never earned any recognition you should not be degrading people who have.
The fire on Highland Ave. I didn't hear or read about running in before the fire department got there? Why didn't you make sure all the college kids were out?
You have a problem with successful people because you know deep down you will never be successful because of your past.

Why some of you are blaming street lights I will never understand. This occured at 9:00 o'clock in the morning. I don't think a street light can help you unless you climb up the pole, tear it down and hit the criminal in the head with it.
