I used to love the pickled sausage and pork made by Rodgers Brothers in Lunenburg MA. What ever happened to those products? I get my pork hocks from www.porkhock.com now. I found a great local pickled sausage I think is better than Rodgers at www.shop.glazierhotdog.com . But what happened to Rodgers?

Rogers had some sanitation issues I think.

Just wanted to clarify, this was our family business for 3 generations.

It wasn't a sanitation issue, we did have to bring the sewer line up Summer Street thanks to the EPA. Other than that we were an A+ USDA establishment very clean and proud of it.

We eventually closed the doors do to supply problems for quality pork hocks and lamb tongue and a dwindling customer base because of health concerns regarding fats and sodium.

I don't think too many people eat pork hocks and lamb tongues anyways.

Didn't I read something awhile back about a Fitchburg cop who was able to come bounding very, very quickly out of barrooms because he had very powerful hamhocks?.......

My grandmother used to bring me there when I was a little kid, and I loved it! As an adult, I wasn't a frequent customer but a steady one over the years. I can't find pigs feet like that anywhere! What are the odds of getting the secret formula? We can all enjoy a bit of Rodgers meats!:-)

Earl Roger was a great man who was always going by the USDA specs. There was never a problem with the cleanliness of that establishment .The product was the best..

When I was growing up in Waltham the local supermarket was owned by a guy named Moe Drapkin. Moe had signs made for his windows along Main Street.

Moe says: "You can't beat my meat!"
