The State Police Fire Investigation Unit is usually requested by the local fire department's fire prevention office to investigate fires that are large in size, maybe suspicious and if they cannot locate an obvious cause of the fire. Most of the time the State Fire Marshall will dispatch his State Troopers that are assigned soley to him to investigate the fire. Due to some fires becoming a crime scene because of arson a State Police detective must be the person to do the investigation in order to comply with the proper protocols in criminal proceedings. Obviously the results of an investigation is not released until someone is arrested in cases that have been determined to be arson. Most of the time it may take months or even a year or more to complete an investigation so everything is properly documented and all procedures have been followed correctly. Interviews with witnesses, bystanders, residents, firefighters, etc. are not just done once but several times with the same person to see if their story or recognition of the events and timeline has changed from their original interview. If they just do a quick investigation and release the results then an arsonists can walk free due to a poor and sloppy investigation. If a fire is arson, arson fires are the most difficult type of crime to prosecute and most arsonists walk free anyways. http://www.mass.gov/eopss/agencies/dfs/dfs2/e... |

Judged: 1 Good point, it reminds me of this riddle, A cowboy rides into town on Thursday, stays two days and leaves on Thursday. How did he do it? I don't care but he better not have the 5k promised to me! What does a Victoria Secrets model and my 5k have in common? Simple, it's two things I want that I will probably never get. Pay up Lynch and give me hope the other will happen. |

The local authorities are called "Fire Prevention" not "Fire Investigation". Big difference ! Your local fire department's fire prevention bureau will hand out permits that are fire related. They review plans for new construction to make sure they will be built according to fire code. They will schedule school inspections and public fire safety talks. They inspect homes before they are sold. They check the removal and installation of undeground fuel tanks. They provide information for companies that will be blasting and welding. They oversee the companies displaying fireworks. They write violations for fire safety hazards and will utilize the legal system if they need to in order for them to comply. They will investigate small incidents or fires that can be solved very easily without the assistance of the State Police, but that is where it stops. |
so.......no right? |
That would be real smart... then everyone could claim the 5k. Do yourself a favor and stay away from sharp objects. |
I'm tired of the firemen always thero, wat about nurses and dog handlers?
Not if you gave it to him before you posted it on here! So where is the information? Who is it? |
