It will be a sad day when they close the doors for good at Doneckers. I worked there while I was in highschool just like many others. The family was very nice to all of the kids that were working there. I know I sure will miss the store. Thanking the Donecker Family for good memories.

The positive and nostalgic comments registered about Donecker's resonate with me. I have lived in Ephrata since 1975 and have purchased many items including clothing for my daughters, a bridal gown for my sister, special occasion dresses, and most recently mother-of the bride dress for my sister. I actually found out about the closing from her as she was looking to purchase another mother of the bride dress there. I was hoping to shop for the same when my daughter's decide to get married. It makes me sad to see the store close. I have had both positive and negative experiences with the store. The good far outweigh the bad. Donecker's you will be sorely missed. You have contributed much to our community. Many people came to Ephrata to shop at your unique store. Thank you for bringing prestige, quality and employment to our community.

I have traveled with my Mom and daughter to Donecker's for 21 years...We stayed at the Inn, had Joe, our favorite waiter, bring us delicious dinners and shop our hearts out at the Store! We will miss Doneckers but have so many wonderful memories...Thank you so much for our girls weekends!

My mom, sister, aunt, cousin, and I had a tradition of visiting Donecker's once a year. We traveled up from Baltimore and it was something we all looked forward to. I think we started going when I was about 8 or 9 and now I'm 30! I just heard the news while searching on the internet for somewhere to go after a Reading wedding. I am shocked and sad. I know my family will feel the same. Thank you, Donecker's, for great family memories and great meals at the restaurant!

unfortunately times have changed. America isn't as natilly dressed as it once was. Doneckers always charged 200-300% mark up back in the day when looking good was important. Now a days, you can wear a rag and be considered "in style". I bet they could put in a hip hop store there and it would flourish.

Not a lot of hip hop going on in Ephrata.
