What do you expect....

the liberals and the envro-nuts have blocked 1. adding gas refinery capacity - stagnant for the past 30 years 2. prevented oil drilling in Anwar-- 1 million barrels a day potential 3. prevented coal mining and coal gassification plants-- the USA is the Saudi Arabia of Coal - by the way, Eurorpe is going full speed ahead adding new coal- electric plants -- Italy, Gemnay
4.and they have prevented nuclear power plant development -- while our conterparts in China, France and other nations are going full speed ahead with these.
5. prevented expansion of areas where we can drill off the coasts of America where there are known reserves. 6. prevented the known natural gas reserves off the coast of the USA from being tapped.

There you have it--- look to who has been voting against oil exploration, coal- gassification, expansion of coastal exploration -- liberals and Congress. 1995 - Bill Clinton vetoed an Energy Bill that would have enabled a lot of this to be done.

US oil companies control and pump 6% of what we consume here. 6%- the rest they have to buy from mostly our enemies. World oil production has peaked and is now stagnant and demand is way up. That's why nations all around the globe are moving forward with new coal plants, new nculear plants. Not us-- we are worried about polar bears and caribou.

Gee, if there's so much money to be made retailing gasoline, why isn't everybody and his brother clamoring to open a filling-station?
Shouldn't there be hundreds of new fuel stations going up across the country?
But there are not.
That's because the fact is there is relatively little money to be made just retailing fuels.
The individual retailer is lucky if he makes 5 cents for each gallon of fuel sold at his pumps.
That's 5 cents per gallon.
At a retail price of $4 per gallon, that's 5 cents profit for a product that cost the dealer $3.95 per gallon.
On a $50.00 sale, that's less than 63 cent profit.
From that 63 cents profit then subtract employee wages, rent, electricity, workman's compensation, all employment taxes, plus every other cost of doing business in that location.
(Imagine if one customer drives off without paying, how many gallons have to be sold to make up the loss from that one lost sale.)

The energy companies can pretty much build refineries as long as they meet safety and environmental standards, but they don't really need to build them, because they cost money to build and that would cut into their take home profits!
By keeping the supply low, they maximize the profits they make on what they do pump!
I suppose if your dog pukes on the floor of your cave you would blame the Democrats!
Stop whining and install a wind turbine and some solar panels!

Not according to US Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) and others who claim that retail fuel dealers are "gouging" the public.

So, "Jeffrey", if you think oil companies are reaping a harvest on the backs of the American consumer, why don't you buy some shares in any of those publicly-traded oil firms and take a share in the booty -- it's called a stock dividend.
On the other hand, if you don't like Capitalism, I'm sure you'll be able to find plenty of work in Cuba and North Korea.
I recommend Cuba for you, it's got free health care!

It's a little late to buy those inflated shares, in order to make any money. And you say Cuba has free health care. Does that mean, if you state your opinion, and they shoot you, they'll take the bullet out for free?

If it's a government sponsored monopoly, then it's FASCISM.
You think $4 gas is funny? Wait a while.

Ernest and Bremen, are the Bass brothers from Bremerhaven, they were separated at birth and Ernest moved to West Virginia where he grew up in a log cabin!
Meanwhile Bremen stayed in Bremerhaven where he was never allowed to attend school due to the enormous size of his head,I mean gigundo!!!
Eventually Bremen made his way Stateside and they ran into each other quite by accident one night at some Gay bar in Wheeling West Virginia!!!
Unfortunately they did not discover they were brothers until after they had consummated their relationship!!!
Gotta go,dinner is being served,To Be Continued.

You know, you're funny Heller. You should write for Leno. You don't make a hellova lot of sense, but you ARE funny. Too bad you don't have a grasp on what's happening today. If you did, you probably could contribute to the common good, instead of making your bizzare comments on things that you are incapable of feeling or understanding.... A mind wasted is a mind lost.

Any way Bremen has not been right since then, and Ernest was not right to begin with, now they both refuse to take their meds and what we are reading here is proof that mental illness is rampant!
