Who should we vote for in this election?
Vote Clark In

Greenville, NC

Shawn Clark- the only experienced trial attorney in the race.

Check out what Jay Gaither has been up to over the past 7 years as an elected official other than prosecuting crime at www.jaygaither.org

Shawn Clark is a great person. Rides a great Harley, too. He's one of my attorneys and I'd hate to loose him, but I'd never stand in his way. Vote Shawn Clark.

If you're talking the Republican primary, you're probably right. But for the general election, both Jason Parker and T.J. Rohr have a lot of trial experience.
And Shawn has shown, at the very least, extremely poor judgment in the past: http://www.shawnclarkda.com/2010/03/shawn-cla...
Prior to his petition, Clark does admit to paying for an airline ticket and hotel accommodations for Turnmire while he was in Las Vegas, though an original plan had her visiting a friend in Florida. He said the trip, which did not include his wife or children, was part of a vacation to attend the wedding of a friend’s relative in Arizona and that Turnmire had been contacting him constantly.
“Looking back, how stupid was that?” Clark said.“She didn’t stay with (me or my friends). She had her own room on a separate wing and floor. Nobody touched her. I didn’t touch her. I didn’t see anybody touch her.”...
Clark said he recalled seeing Tiffany Turnmire in August to discuss her case, then helped change a flat tire, which resulted in him removing a dress shirt that wound up in her car. As part of Timothy Turnmire’s complaint, he has submitted a photo of Tiffany wearing Clark’s shirt.
“Why in the spit she is wearing it, I can’t tell you,” Clark said.“I think Tim and Tiffany are in this together to try to extort money from me.”

Jason Parker is a very smart and intelligent person. Has tried numerous cases.

I just don't buy anything anyone has said about Clark or Gaither. I don't think either one of them deserve the time it would take to walk in and mark a ballot. TJ Rohr certainly isn't the logical choice. He is for legalizing drugs. The only choice I see is Jason Parker.

Which drugs is TJ for legalizing? If it's pot, he will win. He's pretty good.

As DA TJ can't legalize drugs, that takes the legislature.BTW there has been an expensive war on drugs since Eisenhower was President and if anything the problem has only gotten worse.TJ states his views in a Hickory Daily Record interview about a week ago.States perhaps we could spend more time on violent crime, property theft, and getting dangerous drunks off the road...you know crimes with actual victims.

Seems Parker and Rohr are the only ones with no baggage.TJ is pretty down to earth...drives the same toyota he drove in college and goes to church regularly.

The District Attorney cannot legalize drugs but they can decide whether or not to prosecute such offenses. So, in essence the DA can legalize or not legalize drugs by deciding wether to prosecute or not. If you're saying that drugs has no "actual" victims, your way behind. Drugs always have a victim. Better yet, if you think that drugs has no actual victims let us move a half dozen crack heads and meth heads in beside you and then see what you think. Drugs exaserbate other crimes. Drug users theive from everyone else to get the money to buy their drugs, hence the victims of drugs crimes. The backwards type of thinking that the libertarians offer on this doesn't even deserve the time it took to type this posting.

When and where did TJ make this statement? Were there any other people around. I'm curious "facts", validate the claim you have made. TJ is a friend of mine, and I need to know the details.

Gaither- you just don't get it...you have 3 potential opponents running against you becuase you do not work at the job you were elected to do 7 years ago, your arrogance is overwhelming- to think that you can be paid by the taxpayers and given so much authority over our lives and you squander it as you have and at the same time expect that you should deserve re-election! Show us your time card for the past 7 years and we can decide if you deserve the job or if you need to be retired. Lets get someone who is experience, wants to work and knows how to try cases in the District Attorneys Office. Stop the sharades-

If you read the paper it clearly outlined what his stance was on the prosecution of drug crimes. He wouldn't persue those who commit those types of crimes because they are basically not important. It was in the news topic a few weeks ago when they interviewed him. It's apparent that drug crimes aren't as important to him as driving charges or property crimes. FYI, alot of property crimes are due to people needing to support their drug habits.

Any data to support your claim ("FYI, alot of property crimes are due to people needing to support their drug habits")?

Vote for Parker calls me backwards...seems the 50plus year old failed war on drugs is backwards.Anyone who understands english or modern political climate should understand legalizing drugs is the PROGRESSIVE movement.Ask Parker if the drug problem isn't worse than before.Crack didn't exist in the 50's or sixties.BTW the correct spelling are WHETHER,THIEVE and EXACERBATE.Normally I wouldn't mention misspellings but..You seem to feel all drug users are thieves. That a crass ignorant generalization.Ten Commandments mention not stealing ,never mentions crack or meth. One could LOGICAllY assume that theft was a problem long before drug abuse and not the other way around as you insinuate.I'm a democrat and I'm a Christian. No saint but I know Jesus said judge not;love your neighbor and even love your enemies. He also said it was not what goes into a man that defiles him but what comes out of him. Doesn't Parker work for Gaither.. isn't Clark involved in some controversy?

The republicans call the democrats communist and the dems call republicans fascist. It's sad the way we demonize our fellow Americans just because we disagree. If the experts are correct that drug addiction is a disease, what does it say about the USA when we throw our sick neighbors in prison? That's what both the Soviets and the Nazi germans did.TJ can't legalize anything, that takes legislature. When has anyone locally been charged with death by vehicle because of marijuana? What's the problem with taking care of drunk driver?or thIEves?or murderers rapists and child molesters? That's what TJ said. Was Kenneth Lay satisfing a crack addiction when he stole millions from Enron? Was Bernie Madoff smoking meth?Ask "Vote For Parker",he thinks its ok to violate the Bill or Rights and invade his neighbor's privacy.Vote for Parker, your argument is ridiculous.

Would you vote for a Hell's Angel cause he had a harley? Some of the most ridiculous stuff gets posted here.If it wasn't so important it might be funny.BBG seems to think that's a qualifacation and she calls someone else's comment bullshit.I've never ever been able to figure what BBG is talking about but it always seems gossipy. She doesn't want to loose her attorney?Seems Clark is loose enough.
