This is something I did years ago and now i'm seeing posts here where others are doing it. This is something we should all do Except those are die-hards who are naieve enough to think their party is the honest one. If this works on a small scale like where i live it'll work bigtime across the nation. In my small county, Enough of us have registered as Independents to cause the Rep/Dems. much agitation because they have lost their take-it-for-granted base, And not sure which lie to tell to whom...
Just imagine how this cold affect the whole country if we could get together to make this work...Both Parties have a stigma...

DISCUSTED WITH BOTH PARTIES.
1. PROSICUTION OF THE IRAQ WAR
2. TRADE DEALS WITH COMMUNIST CHINA
3. REFUSING TO ENFORCE CURRENT IMMIGRATION LAWS
4. OUT SOURCING U.S. JOBS OVERSEAS
5. I DON'T BELIEVE THERE IS A JOB I THIS COUNTRY AMERICANS WON'T DO.

Dear YogB,
Please tell me how you were able to register as an
independent. I called our county government, and she said just don't vote in the primary. I think this is surely too simplistic.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Tina

Tina. I could be wrong... But i'm sure in every state one can register as an Independent. Who did you talk to exactly? Try calling someone else in the county.
If they tell you that again, ask to speak with their supervisor.
It depends on how far you want to take this but someone is lying to you.
I read that many many people are changing over to independent. I'm considering doing the same thing myself..... I'm tired of being taken for granted.

Tina, you can register as an Independent at the Board of Elections. The only thing about being a Indep., you cannot vote in the Democrat's primary, but you can vote in the Republican's. There is no one as yet running as an Independent, this would be just another party if someone wants to run.

Do not register as Independent. If you do and you are a Democrat you cannot vote in the primary. You can vote in Republican primary only. What good is it to register independent if you have not got a canidate running on an independent ticket. Lou Dobbs is just blowing wind. I like alot of things he says, but he is not being truthfuly to you about your vote in primary. If you think I am wrong, call someone.

The important thing of registering as an independent is sending a message to the dems.and pubs. Don't Take Me For Granted.
Independent means just that. When the polls show the loyalists are netted in, the parties turn to wooing independents and cross-over voters. It has been shown more than once that the elections must have these voters to get elected.
If you really want to cast your vote for a third party..There some out there such as the Libertarians which made a good showing in NC s 2004 elections, Enough to where they could have swung votes to the major parties.
So don't think Independents and cross overs are unimportant.

I think that is the real point...to show "THEM" just how unhappy people are with both parties.

I know that I, for one, am totally disgusted. I plan to change my registration from Democrat to Independent this coming week.

What you're saying is the very reason that Huckabee is making such a strong showing He is not one of the genearic Washington corruptors, we have long since been tired of them.
But they keep giving us the 'Here they are..Take it or leave it...Then we hope that we will get someone that has America's interest as opposed to big business. That's why we have so many Illegals here. Well....That's just one of the ways they're selling out our country.

Go ahead and register Independent and lose your vote in primary!!! That is your right as an American. You can vote for a Republican, but that is it. I hope you can see what the Republicans are doing getting you to change. You Democrats better get smart before you change, you will not get to vote in the Dems. primary. Just who will run as an Independent????? Have you thought of anyone?
