I'm so upset they took my lowes away. They where the only store close that would double coupons.I saved alot of money there. Now Just Save is suppose to save us money but i didnt really see that. This store is now just like the rest around here.If i travel to hickory i eat my savings up in gas. This stinks. This is just something else thats going to hurt caldwell county.Making it harder to save on food to be able to feed our families.Just Save should double coupons like lowes if they want to help people really save money!!

It was just a way for them to get out of offering double coupons. Watch them go under just like Bi-Lo. Fred's has double coupons on Saturdays only.

Yeah I am upset over Lowes leaving because of the better quality foods they offered but there is something I don't think you understand. Lowes was more expensive than most other grocery stores in the area, they inflated their prices and offered double coupons which only brought the price down to the same as others or slightly less.

I have shopped around a lot and the lowest prices I have food would be Aldi and Fairvalue, they are of lower quality in most cases but if you are shopping on a tight budget, you do what you have to do.

Sales and coupons are only a ploy in most cases to get you in the door. They may have acquired certain items at a discount that they strategically put on sale to get you in the door in hopes you will just go ahead and buy all your shopping needs from them regardless of whether it's higher or not. Make no mistake they do not lose money or they wouldn't be in business long. In a lot of cases they actually inflate prices weeks in advance then offer "big sales" or coupons on said items fooling people into thinking they received a huge deal.

Just Save is a discount "Lowes" it is still owned by the parent company "Alex Lee", the Lowes name is being used at its more high end grocery stores (see Viewmont location in Hky) Caldwell county could not support a Lowes at this point in time.

You are right on some things. If you are going to shop for the deals then you have to discipline yourself not to buy the high price items and that goes for any store. But if you know how to use coupons right you can walk out a big saver. Example... Mt. Olive pickles $3.00 each sounds high but then wait till they are BOGO now it is $1.50 each then use a .50 doubling coupon on each and you pay .50 a jar. I save over $100.00 almost everytime I shop so I will still be going to another town to shop even with the gas cost it will still be worth it. But may go to Bi-Lo now since I have to shop in another town. If you want people to shop in their home town then stop charging me more to shop local. As for meats when Lowes had their meats on sale I would stock up.

I do have to say if your not smart about couponing you can get roped in to spending money on stuff you dont need or buying because its on sale and you have coupons.Thats where you have to be a true dedicated couponer. They know not to shop in one place and go for really cheap or almost free deals and stock up when its great sale.I know i've saved so much money couponing and never had so much food.I geuss if i have to go out of county for those great deals i will.My family depends on me to keep our food stocked!!

I hate that there gone also because of the gas saving program that they had. I would shop there and be able to save 10, 15, or 20 cent per gallon the next time I got gas from Wilco Hess...... That adds up to alot of savings when you drive a truck like I do....

Charlotte news outlets are reporting Lowes and HT reorganizations in order to cater to the "urban markets" and to pull out of rural areas.
Gee thanks, like the world revolves around Charlotte and Raleigh.
Guess business and government by in large feels the rest of us can just die and blow away.
Those of you that can, try the drive to Ingles, they do coupons, have a good in store brand line and even a dollar store inside the building.
At least they are a Western NC company that does not abandon their base and seem to be faring well.

Rock Hill Hearld online just reported (June 1st) that Harris Teeter & Lowe's Food will be trading store location in various towns in Western NC. Lowe's will be taking over the Harris Teeter in Morganton. Nothing was said if the store would open as a Lowe's or a Just Save.

The only thing with Ingles is they'll only double 3 coupons for every 10 dollars spent.I usually just go in for the things i have coupons for and its hard to get it to add up unless your buying all your grocery there.

YOu are a smart shopper, i have 15 years of inside experience and lowes foods is a crummy company. We all know they need to make a profit but they are very greedy. The big shots get their bonus and the ft workers were told they could have a pt job or no job at all.
Lowes charges more for the groceries and make you think you get a deal with .05 cents off on gas. I had accumulated 20 cents off so we filled up ( you can only get 20 gallons) and i saved a pitiful 2.76. I did shop there when i worked there but after seeing how they treated the employees i will no longer spend a dime there. Even other regular customers said they would not come back because they will not support a company who does that way. I could go on but it is so much to tell. Maybe i should write a book.
I am trying to get a eeoc lawsuit aganist them due to mgr. and his treatment of the women.

I have seen some of the managers at the Lowes in Hickory. It appears even they couldn't couldn't stay at just Save even though it is owned by Lowes. I don't shop at Just Save I did a little until I got bad meat twice. Now I refuse to stop there. There quality of eveything sucks. And they said they would have more local fresh produce it is 10 times worse and less produce even in the summer and it is more expensive than competitors now. If it goes under won't hurt my feelings one bit.

The Lenoir Lowe's Foods had the potential to become a great store again. Instead, they sunk way too much money into a serious downgrade. If it's in the name of lowering prices and saving the customer money, why do the Lowe's Foods stores consistently have better sale prices? It doesn't make any sense.

Lowe's Foods is an awful company and I feel much more comfortable doing my grocery shopping in Morganton than Hickory. I wish I could shop in Lenoir, but if my choices are Food Lion, Fairvalue, and JustSave... why bother?
