March 1 ,rand Paul voted, along with all other senators(100-0)FOR Libyan no fly zone, for regime change and support for UN intervention and democracy and to support the Libyan people.Today he attaches to another bill a provision wanting to debate the resolution;voted down 90-10.Even McConnell voted against him.And claims and evades questions concerning the earlier vote.Even caught in a whopper of a lie about it all(his office's official statement).Evidence of more questionable hiring by Paul.He lied and need to be recalled for consistency's sake(i.e. Clinton)Quite a flip flop for a cold spring day in DC.Another point... the shut down is the GOP's fault, just listen at the words they speak. They even have a song for the event. And 62% of Tea Party want a shut down, just for future references. And they get ovations for calling for it.The GOP calls for more concessions any time the Dems agree.Paul Ryan says it is not a budget but a cause.Just because that's why.Immature incompetent oafs.Polish that turd,"Truth"

Republicans and their TP want a government shutdown which will stop many of their own social security payments, unemployment payments , medicare payments, etc. Just one reason why I question their sanity.
Republicans and their TP want more welfare for the rich but draconian cuts to working people and the poor. I understand the filthy rich republicans wanting this, but working republicans and TP? Another reason I question their sanity.
Even if ALL spending were stopped, the national debt would not be lowered without tax increases. If working people were taxes at 100%, the debt could not be reduced without increasing taxes on the rich and corporations.

Fool,

You made a statement which I have to state is incorrect. From everything I have read it is the republicans who are seeking an extension and NOT a shutdown.

Obama and the democrates are AGAINST an extension. They merely wish to continue with BIG government's wasteful spending.

As far as people wanting a government shutdown, if one is dealing with a dysfunctional person (in our case the federal government) would it not be a good idea to stop the madness? If the liberals will not stop their insane spending, they leave regular Americans little option but to find ANY means possible to stop it.

Do you have any clue as to what another tax increase to all Americans will do to the liberals in 2012? I have no problem with the rich paying their fair share, but tell me what is it? If someone earns (works long hours for, takes risks others are too scared to take, starts a small business and succeeds, etc.) how much do you liberals propose to tax him or her?

It is also just wrong that Obama has allowed large corporations to pay no taxes. He had two full years with complete democrat control of both the House and Senate and yet did nothing to change it. It almost seems as if he has an unknown, yet sinister, agenda.

Tell me this libs, "Why is it OK to have a 14+ trillion dollar deficit? Why is it OK to increase that deficit by 4 trillion Dollars in just the last two years?" What does it mean to say, "We are going to change the whole sytem"? What does it mean to say, "Collapse the system and then re-boot it"? What system are you going to come up with after the so called collapse? Why are we at 9.4% unemployment using the riged way of coming up with that figure? What did the stimulus package actually accomplish? It didn't do anything to help the unemployment rate. Obama is going to do the rope de dope now so he can protect his Government take over of his pet projects. If he gets re-elected, all hell will break loose. I believe I am correct that pubs want to shut down the government AGAIN. But if we drop the argument over who will get the blame, the fact remains that the budget proposals of both sides do little or nothing to address the national debt or to reduce wasteful spending. Its like arguing over reducing sea level by dipping one gallon out of the ocean or should we dip out two gallons., Will we stop the insanity by cutting millions from schools and then giving bankers trillions?
Tax collections are a function of tax laws enacted by CONGRESS. Federal expenditures are determined by CONGRESSIONAL budgeting.
What you and they appear to misunderstand is the enormity of the problem. We either restore taxes on the rich to pre Dubya levels , or our economy collapses. The middle and the poor do not have the income to fix the problem, even if they are taxed 100% and the government is shut down indefinitely.

Ron Paul supports what you propose and they treat him as if he has a plague. The teards obviously like the taste of corporate anus. The spending and Tax rates pre Dubya appeared to be working.Dubya did inherit a surplus and he immediately gave 33 percent of the tax break to the wealthiest one percent and left the rest (99%) to split 67%.That led to this recession and the need for a bailout. And now they call Bush a liberal,I really don't blame them for trying.I'd be embarrassed too. TRUTH claims it support a libertarian way ,though the libertarians distance themselves from the Teards. Paul started the movement and has done nothing but criticize the teards since the Kocks(i.e. pricks)) hijacked it and he left.Even tho they claim his son as theirs.Amazing how "truth" blindly(or evilly)accepts their lies and contradictions.Ironically and teapocally ignoring obvious truths.

Teard Prosser in wisc "found " 8000 votes in one Republican county and 224 in another republican county. So he "wins", as the "liberal" conservative dubya won in 2004 and 2000. How'd that work out.Soon the wealthy will tire of their lackeys and push them out in the cold too.More honor amongst thieves. I mean who wants to hang with a bunch of gullible idiots. All is not lost, they'll need a few white burger flippers. The tide is certainly teardin now. They spent twice as much in Wisc as the dems(Kocks money too),ran a judge who had 99% of vote in last re election, beat the challenger in a primary and wins(after the teard had initially lost) in an obviously questionable election.Still lost a huge amount of credibility.A very questionable mandate indeed.

Fool,

You seem obsessed (as are all liberals) with raising taxes on citizens and not addressing spending.

I would have little problem raising taxes on large corporations IF it were coupled with some draconian cuts in federal spending. As I have maintained all along, BIG Government, BIG Business, BIG Unions are all the same bed together. It is the blind who only see their side as the right way.

Here is a TRUTH about your sacred Unions. In New Jersey, the teachers' union has set it up so almost all teachers currently pay ZERO, NADA, NIL into their health insurance all the way to their DEATH. Are you going to tell me this is fair? Oh wait, you are a liberal...Everything union is good in your world.

What' is funny is As I followed the election on the Tea Party express's site the comments were overwhelmingly concerned with fraud. They claimed the unions would lose(kloppenburg) and then votes would miraculously appear to reclaim victory for the democrats.....hotair.com.And post 645,expressed that Prosser " may win". No surprise at all.And scooped you on the news as well.Your blimp is crashing,no matter how hard you twist, Fox Mordor. But the fact remains that the teards are not as popular as they wish and give em another year or two and you'll deny you ever voted for them

Turns out that Waukesha county Wisconsin was singled out in January(news reports jan 17),a huge controversy, for using sub-par security measures in their elections supervision and policy.Including computer access without individual passwords and therefore a vague trail of accountability .And they're extremely conservative and turned in totals very early before most....gave themselves time to tamper possibly. And the hotair.com website, allied with the Tea Party Expresso, was curiously and consistently accusing the dems of possibly using this type of tactic.Still Prosser won last re-election with 99% and primary over Kloppenburg in Feb (6 wks ago not January primary as I erroneously reported earlier)he won by 30 points.A definite sudden change of opinion from November. And before you teards start crying union involvements ,they are allowed to vote despite of Teard wishes to exclude segments of population from the democratic process. But I will admit I was wrong about Michelle Bachman. She's has pledged TWO weeks of her salary for the Troops Pay,after her govt shutdown. generous if she includes the MILLIONS she has received from the Kochs and others;she could probably cover pay for at least one or two platoons.

Like most teatards, you are apparently math and logic challenged. What you cannot understand or refuse to accept is:
If we cut EVERYTHING from the budget AND taxed middle income workers and the poor at 100% of their income, we still could not pay off the national debt without restoring taxes on the rich and corporations.

Fool,

You apparently do not read well. Please reread my post where I state taxing corporations would be alright IF we cut federal spending.

Also your last line is...shall we say...incorrect. The rich ARE currently taxed. You are following the liberal mantra quite well. "Deceive and Distort"

To not be branded a liar you may wish to state you would like to see taxes RAISED on the rich.

I must give you credit for choosing an appropriate last name.

When a liberal has lost an argument (which is more often than not), they have no logical response or cannot provide proof of their allegations, the name-calling will begin. You will now be: "A Racist", "A Tea-Bagger", "A Slave To Corporate Interests" and perhaps even a "Doody-Head" (or other profanity laced comments). I've seen this drill so many times that I can actually write the left-wing responses for you! You've lost this one and are completely irrelevant to anything posted on this board!

It has intrigued me the level of rancor and rage some of the LOL's on this board exhibit. Good banter is enjoyable. From some of their responses, it is obvious they take this board (and themselves) WAY too seriously.

I truly feel sorry for them. Can you imagine a life so shallow, so hopeless, so defeated that they see boogie-men in everything conservative and right. As I have maintained from day one, there are good democrats and good conservatives and bad in both. The only types I can find no redeeming qualities in are the true liberals who embrace late term abortions and try to defend them here. Those are very scary and insidious people. I cannot imagine a life with so much pain and anger.

General Electric made $14.2 billion dollars in 2010, paid NO taxes and got a $3.2 million tax credit (refund). How much more do you republicans want to cut schools, medicare , veteran benefits, the handicapped , etc before you would be willing to tax General Electric?
When republicans are willing to place additional burdens on the men and women serving in the military by delaying their pay, their obstructionism has gone too far. The rich bastards are out of touch with reality.
