We have two infants a 2 year old and a 6 month old. The Doctors seem to be very good and have a good bedside manner. Now if you have a very sick child and need an emergency appointment then your just crap out of luck, they are always booked even though there is no one in the waiting room. If you are 7 minutes late you get an attitude and the funny thing is even with an empty waiting room again you still wait 40 minutes to see the Doctor. So why the attitude when you have to wait so long for them? We are transferring our 2 children to another pediatrician does anyone have a good suggestion? PS we have 3 other children we were gonna transfer to their office but have since changed our minds so they are losing 5 total patients because of their attitude.

Having my kids see Dr. Clapp is worth putting up with the snotty office people. But ONLY Dr. Clapp. He is a fantastic doctor, and helps me out by giving me lots of free medicine samples. I'm not crazy about the other doctors or FNPs in this practice, however.

I don't have a suggestion for you except to be sure to let them know why you're leaving. It doesn't have to be confrontational, but you can respectfully tell them the problem and how many patients it's costing them. They need to know, in order to fix it. They may even be willing to fix it NOW, and you won't have to leave.

We have had problems with the office in Rutherford College and Lenoir. More than once and yes they are snobby especially the Rutherford office. Our smallest had rsv 2 weeks ago and they refused an emergency appointment, we had to take him to the e.r. The er doctor told us if he would have gotten worse we could have sued. Our 2 year old was having the same symptoms we called first thing 9am and they refused to work him in. We are done with that mess and trying to locate another doctor's office that will accept serious appointments and appreciate the business not being a snob will be a bonus.

I am afraid I don't know who to tell more than likely the person at the window that gave my wife and I attitude is the one in charge.

I have 2 kids, 10 and 1. I have had them with Dr. David Masters for years and I have nothing but good things to say about him and his office. Im sure I have been late more than a few times and never had the least problem or attitude from the office staff. We usually are there less than an hour even when they seem really busy. In addition, when my youngest was weeks old, he diagnosed a condition that often goes unseen for sometimes many months, often misdiagnosed etc. Had he not caught it so early, she easily could have required more invasive and serious surgeries than the ones she had as a result of the early diagnosis. He is located at Falls Pediatrics in Granite Falls.

Yeah, I can see where that would be a problem. Too bad you can't talk to the doctor, so he/she would know that the "help" is costing them patients.(A letter maybe?) When you "interview" your prospective doctors, ask them what their policy is for emergency situations. Then you'll know ahead of time. Wishing you the best!

Dr Milsaps is WONDERFUL with children. His staff is very understanding and dont give you crap if you are late and they will always see a sick child. Maybe you should look into changing drs. I wouldnt put up with the office staff crap if I was you. There is better staff and doctors out there, give Milsaps a try. They truely care about the children and are not just in it for the money like others are.The problems you listed is the very reason we moved our children from mt view to Dr Milsaps. Never regretted it either.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. These are only a few of the problems we have had in the past 10 days. Believe me there are more. The front desk staff need to be replaced or knocked down a few inches. My daughter in law is transferring her two children from there as well citing the same type problems so in total 7 patients they are losing this week from my family alone.

This one and the one in Lenoir on two different occasions. I have no problem with Gonzales he seems to be a great doctor its the rest of the staff I have a problem with.

Just wanted to post one more time :) Someone talked about Southfork Peds, they are now Falls Peds and moved to 321 in Granite, which is where Dr Masters is that I mentioned.

Also, Dr Milsaps! He was my Ped when I was young and I took my son to him for years, until he moved to Linconton I thought. Is he back in town??

I have two children, ages 9 & 12. I have used Mountain View Peds for both of them since birth. I've never had a bad experience with the Morganton location. I've ALWAYS been given emergency appointments in a timely manner and have even called and told them I'm on my way and my child is very sick and needs to be seen now. My child had a room waiting when we walked in. Dr. Whalley and the other staff have always been professional, friendly, and done a wonderful job with both my children. On occasion I've taken my children to the Lenoir office if I didn't have time to get to Morganton. I have found Dr. Clapp and his FNP to be great, as well. However, the receptionist at that location denied me an appointment because my children weren't patients at that office. I simply called the Morganton office and they confirmed the Lenoir office did have appointments available and made me an appointment and the next time I called back and told the Lenoir receptionist that Morganton had confirmed they did have an opening and there was no reason she shouldn't give my child the appointment. I would highly recommend Mountain View Pediatrics for your child's care.

We take both of our children to see Dr. Clapp. He has always been professional to us and have never experienced snotty attitudes there. He is very pleasant and helpful and easy on the eyes.

Dr. Masters at Granite Falls Pediatrics saved my grandson's life. He was in the hospital with RSV. Long-story-short, Dr. Master's remained at the hospital 2 hours after he was supposed to leave, constantly monitoring my grandson's condition. While Dr. Masters was in his room, my grandson's oxygen level suddenly dropped into the critical range.Had he not been there, my grandson could have had significant brain damage by the time nurses got in his room. We would not THINK about going anywhere else. They are kind, considerate, compassionate, and very, VERY good with sick children.
