Does anyone know what happened besides NOTHING about the unsolved double murders back in the early 90s?
Things i have heard be it rumor or truth i do not know... it looked to be a professional hit. The murder or murders took time to dig the bullets out to avoid leaving evidence. Both victims had there throat slashed and also been shot professional hit style.
It was over an unpaid drug debt. People say who is "suspected" to be behind it but never charged.
It practically doesnt exsist on the internet. It seems to be brushed under the rug on purpose.
I am just curious because i see all the unsolved murder threads popping up but no talk of this one.
This one has always bothered me because of the lack of time or attention it got from the police in trying to solve it.
Anyone know whats up with that? Anything new since then?

To call Mr. Murphy a "professional" hit man is like calling a donkey a prize winning thoroughbred. Yeah right.

Hi Everyone I am the niece of Jeanie..they were not murdered by hit men, over drugs or any other great Hollywood story-line..Jeanie and Mark were murdered for no reason... except those off a delusional drug fueled mind..I could give details but I am not sure what could jeopardize the case..since they ( Lenoir PD.. Caldwell Co. Sheriff..) finally made an arrest after 20 years on April 1 2011..I also thought, this many years later, on 4-1 , when my mother called me, Jeanie's sister, that it was a sick joke from the P.D.,not my mom..Really an arrest made??? I believed all the stories ..I tried to piece together all the info..I knew what I knew in my head..the memories..the fantasies, I guess the hopes and dreams of a 12 yr old...whose life was turned upside down by the events of that night.. I was changed forever..not to the good or positive.. I wish this could be that Hollywood story..Life is harsh, Life does suck..My grandfather just passed never knowing what happened to his baby girl..my grandmother is still here wondering, They will know what happened before me .. I hope..If I believe their way, It is certain..so I am guilt fueled that way..Don't be guilt fueled, but be rational ..Life isn't always so black and white..there is a lot of gray..any further details..my e-mail is [email protected].I wanna hear from you..

Oh yeah, I think that elevator may be set on turbo speed. I looked at the Caldwell County Sheriff's Cold Case link. I think it said the murders were in 1990. Nineteen years have gone by. If the person was 40, he or she would be almost 60. If whoever was 50-60, they would have to be 70-80.

To all those asking about unsolved murder in the 1990's ..most of what is on here is just rumors...No high power member of community..No cover up...Always being investigated not just during election, Unsolved mysteries backed out on there own due to lack of info able to be given to show.. An arrest was made in 2010..trail to start in a few months..Hopefully then the whole truth will come out...It was a devastating time for my family and will get hard during trail..But along the drug front ..no drugs were in victims system or house,,,

The truth about this "case" or the seacrest's is....
It was a grusome murder of the couple and yes it was over drugs but what no one talks about is the truth of who, why, and as the poster of this forum stated why did they brush it under the rug?
So we are clear it was over drugs...it wasnt a deal gone bad but they owed money which is WHY they got murdered....and WHO?....Jamacians...sounds crazy doesnt but its no lie...def. explains why it was so grusome and as for it under the rug...i assume its because their untraceable and they knew what steps 2 take so they did not get caught...which i doubt they would care either way....For the ones saying "They (police) did all they could" BS my statement about that is based simply on the fact that the case showed up on the caldwell county sheriffs department website under cold cases....and now go look....it just vanished...normally when that happens they have caught the guy....i havent heard anything about it......have you?
speaking of cold cases there were several listed on the departments site and all of a sudden there were two... was this helpful 2 anyone?

I don't know if he will get it but it is being tried as a capital case. That is why Lisa Dubs is his attorney. I'm pretty sure jury selection starts in the May 2013 Superior court calendar that is what we were told the last time.

I sure hope none of the assistant DAs who are currently in Caldwell Co try the case. They couldn't win a case even with a written confession.

I don't agree with you about lack of working on this case. I think they did all they could at that time. That crime happened before a lot of the new processes were available. These days (in CSI days), crime scenes are so solvable, that we forget that back then, all these complicated processes were not available. I don't know but if they "thought" they knew who done it, and took them to court tried them and lost due to lack of evidence, they wouldn't be able to take them into custody and try them again if something else popped up later, would they? It would be better for it to be solved years later with a solid case than to let a killer get away forever because you couldn't prove him or her or them guilty immediately.
