The field is looking great. Hope others will take an interest in re-storing it to it's original charm. Let's get the legion team back where it belongs and bring some new life to Lenoir.

oh yeah, with the infield grass growing back, oh it's so beautiful. the idiots doing the clean up are indeed idiots, so it won't last. believe me they aren't doin it for this town, only to raise money for their sorry ass baseball team. beware the Hawkins are up to no good. Carma will bit em in the ass as soon as they sign up for another tournament.

For whatever reason the Hawkins family are doing a fantastic job! I hope they raise enough money to compensate them for all their hard work.
Maybe some of the money people will see that the field could generate good income for the city and county.

Isn't it sad that people would post negativity about a team of young people 12 and 13 year old mind you that have worked hard to restore a historical stadium. The motives behind such comments could only be those of jealousy from those that caused trouble with the team and were no longer allowed to play. The Lord has blessed this team and allowed the stadium to be redone with lots of hard work.

Bearcat64, Thank you for noticing the work being done. It is a work in progress and yes there still is work to do but with the help and support of the great people of our county it will be a beautiful place soon. The "idiots" as referred to earlier are working on it after work and weekends and of course with any project it takes time and money. We are sure that with the support of our community it will be what it orignally was made for. Thank you again Bearcat 64!

Thank you to each of the wonderful comments regarding the Walker Stadium. We are extremely proud of our organization. It is extremely rare to see a group of teenage boys and their families be willing to put so much hard work and effort into having such a special place to play ball. Many hours have been put into this effort and there will be many to follow. Contrary to the negative comments, The Lenoir Chiefs Team is a team that is ran by the boys and each of their families not the Hawkins. I am extremely proud of our baseball family and pride ourselves in the fact that we have a team with respect, love and NO DRAMA. I can proudly post my name because I have nothing to hide. As to the critical comments, we know who you are and instead of worring about us and our Karma take time to work on bettering yourself it is obvious that you are in need of improvement. The money that is generated from our fundraisers will go to help purchase uniforms, ball equiptment as well as to continue with much needed improvements to the field. The infield grass is going to be an ongoing process that requires a lot of time and money. We are also battling some annoying varmits like groundhogs and BEAVERS. We are committed to this project and as much as it disappoints me that some people can't let go of a grudge; I am thankful that our hard work has been recognized and appreciated.

Keep up the great work and i surely hope that your efforts are a booming success. I'd still like to see others get involved and bring this great ballpark back to glory. This is where our Legion team needs to be playing.

We had our first funraiser today at the stadium and it was a big success. You can go to facebook and see our team. It is listed under the Lenoir
Chiefs baseball. We have plans to continue with bring Walker Stadium back to its former glory. Thanks again for the encouragement.

I am not from this area so the walker stadium is new to me. I think the field was looking pretty good Sat. And if any of you have a yard then you know that grass and weeds continue to grow everyday.. so those statements were a little off if you think about it. I think it will be great for the team to clean it up and be a part of its history. Instead of downing those who worked on it why not go out and help them. If you had a child on the team and you let this grudge or whatever go on how is that helping anyone and what does that teach our children???
