Whats wrong with living in a trailer? Are those people worse than you? What makes you so high and mighty? Certainly not your intelligence.

all this amounts to is someone who is trying to be inflamitory and cause an arguement. Your opinion of Caldwell County is just that-yours. Feel free to keep it to yourself.

You must be kidding! Someone is trying to start an argument on topix, no freaking way dude. It is their opinion (which I happen to agree with) so feel free to share that opinion and inflame more people with extra chromosomes.

Probably nothing if you are just starting out but I wouldnt think people would want to constantly live in one all the time or when they are in their 30's and beyond... you know priorities and all. Seems like people around here just don't give a damn at least not about what matters. Just an FYI, I don't think you are one to discuss intelligence but hey man whatever.

Honeybadger...interesting moniker....especially since I know several locals who identify themselves with that nickname..
and what's even so much more ironic? They live in mobile homes...

Most people who live in trailers are not people trying to live above their means. Hundreds of homes in foreclosure prove buying what you can't afford to keep when the economy turns downward is not smart economics. some want to impress others and some want to provide for their families in a modest home. "whatever" shows a lack of intelligence on your part.

Kind of Ironic that you are trying to make something out of a name with your name then the fact that you know several people with nicknames at all plus factor in you know several people in living in trailers.

actually my name is in regards to what this forum is frequented by. Maybe tonight I can be viewed as joining the crowd, who knows and who cares, I don't.
as for the honeybadger remark, simply stating I know people who identify themselves with the moniker, act like they are so much better than everyone else living in mobile homes, and yet they themselves are even lucky to have that to live in as they were thrown around from here and there growing up and have very little upbringing. Over inflated egos are often ocmpensating for low self esteem.

people do what they have to do in order to survive. It takes a very vain, immature, clueless individual to try to live above their means. Thats why Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are where they are with all the forclosures-people thinking that they DESERVED something when they couldn't pay for it. If a mobile home is all one can afford, then it is no true reflection towards anything except the person trying to live within his/her means.

I've lived in houses, appartments, mobile homes, and even a mansion. Who cares what kind of house you live in as long as you are a nice, law abiding person?

This post is about back stabbing church going people, not about your swellings.

They say not to judge a book by it's cover. Would you kick a person out of your church for wearing jeans and a stained shirt? God doesn't care what you live in. A church is not a building but the people inside of it.

I'm not from Lenoir originally and since moving here I trust no one. Why? Because of the back stabbing and the trash people talk about each other like they do on this site. When I go to church I keep to myself because these so called religious people of Caldwell county are the first people to cast the first stone.
It's a FORUM.

Do you think people feel they're idiotic, so they get on here to show it? No. People speak on here to voice THEIR opinions... it's called free speech. If you don't like to read how people "spout off," then YOU are free to not read it!

Are you not doing EXACTLY what you claim other people are doing... and being a hypocrite? YES.

Get over yourself.

You make a good point.

But, this thread is about bashing people who think differently than those opposed to religion. Again. Let's at least be honest.

It's old.

I have never seen anyone thrown out of a church for any reason. Yet some should be.

Looks like the original poster, is first people to cast the first stone in this case.

The longer I live in Caldwell County the more it destroys my faith. Watching the antics of "church people" has sincerely affected my own beliefs.

I have been here a long time. Paid taxes, hired employees and raised children who are good students and good citizens. Before you all tell me to leave, I'll beat you to it. My family and I are moving next weekend. You won't miss me, of course. I hope to get to a place where my business can thrive and my faith can replenish.

I wish the best of luck to Caldwell County. I gave it a good try.

Best wishes for your move and all, but if you base your life as a Christian on watching what others do around you, you won't ever get anywhere. You don't have any control over anybody but yourself, and you aren't going to answer for anyone else but you.

Clear your sight, push the things out of the way that are blocking your way spiritually and seek God with all your heart. He will be there when you do.

You are absolutely correct. If we let others effect our relationship with Christ we are doomed because no one is good enough to be the substitute for Christ.
You are so right

I agree with you. We moved here in 2006 and found that the more "hyper religious" a person professed to be, the more likely they would be to pass judgement on others, gossip and withhold compassion towards those that did not fit their narrow-minded view of what a "good Christian" is...I remain convinced that Jesus himself would not have been embraced by these people. I had always been really active in my church and I tried volunteering at this new church, thinking I could just "limit my socializing". I decided to be polite and kind, but quickly excuse myself when the group turned to their malicious ways.(If you think you would have made it your personal mission to bring these people back from their wicked ways, let me just say this, I watched what happened to several other people when they attempted to provide an alternative view point...they were basically tarred and feathered...) but even so after witnessing this, I (probably like you) thought, I can reach them...so, one day, I was foolish/brave enough to oppose them...the reaction was a kin to a pack of hyenas tearing into a wounded gazelle...within a month I fled... I now "home church" my family. I have lived in 10 different communities throughout my 40 years on earth, and I have never seen anything like what goes on here. Maybe is goes on in those other places I lived, but they are just more adept at concealing it...here it's like it is a celebrated blood sport. It's just sad.
