Thank you, want to know--a good clear reply.

<quoted text> I agree about Rachel. I think sometimes it would be good to use the "good guy" procedure. Some attys. their attitude is bad. I guess they do not make attorneys like "Bill Palmer", Bill fought for you even if he knew you were guilty. I never did understand what the person's needs were that posted first. It was hard to go through all the "stuff" on here. I guess the person has left this site now.
Want to know, sorry for not mentioning my problem. The lawyer is for a domestic "situation."

I'm just glad that I'm not an attorney. I like lying my head down at night knowing I did the best that I could do that day. I couldn't do that if I were an attorney.

i don't understand you at all first you get on this forum and say "The trouble is, all of us get judged by what these few write, so it reflects badly on people"

WE WERE TALKING ABOUT THE FILTHY, VULGAR, EXCHANGE BETWEEN SOME POSTERS, WHICH LED ANOTHER POSTER TO SAY THAT THIS MUST BE A JERRY SPRINGER COUNTY. THAT'S WHAT WAS REFERENCED IN SAYING THAT ALL (THE ENTIRE COUNTY) OF US GET JUDGED BY WHAT SOME CHOOSE TO WRITE.

then you call a deceased attorney
"unprincipled, crooked as a dog's hind leg, and utterly despicable"

WHILE NOT FLATTERING, THERE IS NOTHING FILTHY, VULGAR, NOR UNTRUTHFUL ABOUT THAT STATEMENT, AND MOST PEOPLE KNOW IT, WHETHER THEY ADMIT IT OR NOT. I'M NOT THE ONE WHO CAUSED THAT MEMORY TO BE LEFT BEHIND; THE WAY HE CHOSE TO CONDUCT HIMSELF LEFT THAT MEMORY.

when in reality he is sworn to provide the best defense for his clients regardless of their guilt or innocence. I BELIEVE THAT, AS AN OFFICER OF THE COURT, THERE WAS A CERTAIN CODE OF ETHICS THAT WAS SWORN TO AS WELL, WHICH DID NOT INCLUDE SOME OF THE THINGS HE DID, TO WIN A CASE. I PERSONALLY DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THE "BEST DEFENSE" IS A DISHONEST ONE.

that is the way our court system works, if lawyers just decided the guilt of their clients why would we need a judge or jury?

A FAIR QUESTION, BUT IMO, A PRINCIPLED ATTORNEY WOULD TURN DOWN REPRESENTING ONE HE/SHE FELT PRETTY SURE TO BE GUILTY. IF I WERE AN ATTORNEY, A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP WOULD MEAN MORE THAN THE EXTRA MONEY, BUT THAT'S JUST ME.

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU UNDERSTAND HOW I CAN MAKE BOTH STATEMENTS, AND I DON'T SEE HOW MY STATEMENT ABOUT THE ETHICS (OR LACK OF) OF BILL PALMER WOULD CAUSE OTHERS HERE TO BE JUDGED, OR REFLECT BADLY ON THEM. PALMER'S CONDUCT, HOWEVER, DIDN'T REFLECT FAVORABLY ON THIS TOWN.

I'm just glad that I'm not an attorney. I enjoy being able to go to bed at night and sleeping with a clear conscience.

They're the only ones standing between us and the government doing whatever it wants to us. There's a reason that Communist, Socialist, Fascist and Militaristic regimes get rid of lawyers and suspend habeas corpus (Hello, W!) early on in their attempts to control us. It's easy to talk bad about lawyers until you need one. I'd rather have 50 guilty people go free than allow the government to determine what happens to us without someone on our side. The government has a lot more control over our lives than it ought to already. They've got all the power and all the money. We only have lawyers standing up for us.

If you are female, I suggest Rachel LeClair, I believe she is in Hickory. Please seek help as soon as you can, domestic cases are a great problem these days. If you are male I would seek a male attorney, not in Lenoir.

It may be well said, but I have the feeling that when and if the government wants to squash us, the lawyers won't amount to a burp in a whirlwind.

I have found Houston Groome to be great for non-criminal cases ie wills, business related issues, trusts, etc. He is one of the few in Lenoir that will actually return your phone calls.

How can I morally justify defending the guilty?

Everyone, even the guilty criminal - especially the guilty criminal - needs a companion, a friend, someone to stand with him and for him. I am obligated to be faithful to my client and not to abandon him, to be there for him, to put his interests before my own. Jesus died for the guilty - what great wonder is it that I am called to serve the guilty?

If you want a good lawyer in Lenoir this is how you do it.

Go to Burke or catawba and get one and bring him to Lenoir.

Amen!!! If you are a crook and have money to deal, you might need a Lenoir lawyer. If you are honest and need serious legal issues addressed, better go to Catawba County or Burke and hire your attorney so you will not get sold out by your own representative.

Don't go to Catawba unless you want to spend all your money to watch your lawyer fight pointlessly with the other side. That's all they do down there, and you'll pay them a lot more to do it.
