Personally I think we need a write in campaign. Bart Simpson would be better than the choices up there!

I agree with you and I think a lot of LC residents think so too.

It isn't pretty. But some of those choices are uglier than others. It's come from more than a few sources already that anyone who votes for Tooter may as well be voting to give Tony Aikens and Terry Vann the keys to the city.

I remember telling Garrell Foshee a few years ago that Eddie Simpson would make a great mayor someday. I still believe it. I've known Eddie since about '78 or '79 and he is a very honest and hard-working man. Two years ago the opportunity arose for me to go to work for Eddie. I worked three days, then I injured my leg away from the job. Then I got strep-throat after that. I finally just went back to my old job about a month later not thinking about the 15 or so hours i'd worked for Eddie. He never contacted me about it or asked questions, he just sent me a check and a thank you note. We need more people in local government like Ed Simpson. Instead of the goms we have running things now.

Looks like Joe Sims is winning, but thanks to aikens we can't vote for him. Maybe in 2 years he will run for county Mayor

NO WAY should Joe Sim be allowed to run for mayor! He's a convicted fellon!! It's things like this that makes Lenoir City the laughing stock! We're still being made fun of for Eblen and his cross dressing fiasko. No way that ANYONE with ANY criminal record should be allowed to obtain ANY elected office. Good Grief! I can't believe that is even a debate!!! Next thing you know we'll have registered sex offenders running for school board! What is wrong with you people??

Nothing wrong with me. But why should protected crooks get to stay in office when they are just as guilty as Joe Sims ever was? That is the problem I have with the ones that are running or have one of their puppets running for office. I just hope things will change someday. You think?

I've live in Lenoir City for many decades, and you have no idea what "crooks" are. We've had crooks! Those people holding office's now are Saint's compared to what we've had in the past. Anyone living here as long as I have would agree, and even the thoughts of allowing anyone with a criminal record to obtain and city office is taking a huge step backwards in a very wrong direction. We need to continue to rise above our past NOT repeat it. Rockefeller wrote: Nothing wrong with me. I say Rockefeller's problem is she's fell from the graces of the "protected crooks" she's talking about when she left the recorder job. Wite-out & auditors just don't mix, do they Deb????

Now I am Deb. What happened to Van Shaver? It is just killing you to figure out who I am. Like I said. I am somebody you would never figure that knows a bunch more than you think. It's all on you and it ain't purty. Maybe the auditors or the FBI will get you the next time they come around, huh? You paid your income tax lately? Whose name did you put all your property in to hide it from the mean old government. When did your step daughter marry a Robinette? So many questions. Better be careful of what you say on here. You could be made a fool of, not that you already haven't been made a fool of.

I love watching the idiot try to figure it out. Let's see. Who can I be next? I wonder if Elmer Fudd would be Deb or Van Shaver? The Ignoramus ain't gotta clue. How in this world he got to be a lawyer is an out and out wonderment to me.
