I remember hearing that same rumor several years ago and nothing ever came from it. This was back during the whole you can get aids from touching something they touched or using the same toilet so it scared alot of people from going there. Haven't heard anything about it since.

The restaurants in LC have an even higher number of sick and diseased people IMO than your normal village

Probably the result of some kind of experiment

Oh man, that is some bad food in that town

I'd give it a D-

Aubreys is decent, Ruby's ok, a couple others

But stay away from the fast food joints

Be afraid, Be Very, Very, Afraid!

Yikes!

Do you get yet?

Here's a logical policy:

The majority of my property taxes - yes -Loudon County Assessment and Lenoir City Assessment go to the schools. I do not have any children in these schools. My property taxes should be exempt in this situation. The property owner's children should have 'dibs' for school selection. The non-property owners that have children attending our schools should be made to pay an equivalent dollar amount for a fee.

Also:
Cease and desist with printing school information in Spanish. The main criteria for being an American are to speak and read English. It would seem that it is more likely than not, that those who cannot speak English are here illegally and should not be granted admission to any of our schools. Any funding spent for these types of activities should be classified as misappropriation of funds.

Thank you very much!

WELL LETS SEE HERE? IT IS CALLED DISCRIMINATION NOT TO HIRE SOMEONE WITH AIDS OR ANY KIND OF DISABILITY AND FOOD PLACES AND EVERY WHERE ELSE DOES HIRE THESE PEOPLE IF THEY KNOW IT OR NOT BUT IF THEY ARE HIRED,, THEY HAVE TO POST SIGNS AT ALL ENTRANCES AND AT THE REGISTERS

well but no one in that restaurant has aids. i don't know where people saw the "sign" there was no sign at all. because of this FALSE RUMOR employees have been cut hours because people dont want to eat here thinking somebody has aids. there is no such thing... and if they hire somebody with that condition they will put it on the doors, but they never did hire nobody with aids neither they put up a sign

I'm more concerned about getting an order placed and actually understood by the Spanish speaking crew. Does anyone in McDonalds speak English? Does anyone in this town feel as if we live in Mexico City, or is it just me? IT'S A BIG MAC, LARGE FRY AND A COKE. COMPRENDE?

Whatever happened to the law that said everyone working in food handling had to have a health certificate? Guess it went the way of the product labeling that listed the amount of shrinkage and whether the fabric was color fast. When Bill Clinton threw open our markets to the Chicoms to unload their cheap slave labor made goods on our markets, they ceased to enforce those consumer protection laws.Everyone working in the food service industry was required to have a health certificate after Typhoid Mary caused an epidemic about 100 years ago. Seems to me it's just as important today as it was back then. And I never heard a word about those laws being repealed.Does anyon know if they are still on the books?

From the CDC's website.

There is no known risk of HIV transmission to co-workers, clients, or consumers from contact in industries such as food-service establishments. Food-service workers known to be infected with HIV need not be restricted from work unless they have other infections or illnesses (such as diarrhea or hepatitis A) for which any food-service worker, regardless of HIV infection status, should be restricted.

Even if a fast food worker has Aids, are they required legally to report it? I don't know. They can't be denied a job because of it, just like they can't be denied a job based on race. I also cannot find anything that say's a business is required to post up a sign saying that an employee of the establishment has Aids. Should a business post such a sign, couldn't that be construed as harassment and make the business a target of a lawsuit.

Exactly, I was there today (drive-thru) and couldn't get the guy to understand what I wanted. I got half my order right. The other half was left completely off. At least I wasn't charged for the part I didn't get. It's getting ridiculous with ANY fast food restaurant anymore. There is no such thing as cutomer service. I have managed several restaurants in Knoxville, LC, Kingston, and several surrounding areas, and I always made sure the customer was taken care of, the order was correct, and if one of my employees made a mistake, it was always corrected to the best of my ability as soon as possible. Now half the time, you don't even get an apology if they screw your order up.

Oh yeah, I've heard the same rumor about McDonald's. No one has ever really confirmed or denied the rumor. But, even if it were true, you can't get AIDS from eating food prepared by someone who has it, if they are careful and do not show signs of other illnesses (as listed above). The rumor probably has something to do with the decline in business, but GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE would help tremendously. Se habla? anyone?

I'm a resident here in LC and have since given up hope with MCD's. My orders are never right, the drive thru person never understands anything I say. I've been charged for someone else's order, and to beat it all I'm charged to customize my meal the way I want it. Even if I don't get the things they offer (which saves them their lettuce, tomato etc etc etc) I'm charged for mayo, or big mac sauce. I no longer go to that place to eat, not the one in LC anyways. I'd just assume to see them close their doors forever. I've not heard the rumor about AIDS, but that doesn't make me anymore likely to go there to eat.

I don't eat at McDonalds anymore, anywhere. Usually I don't eat out at all unless it's a 5 star restaurant, and I don't think we have any of those in Lenoir City or Loudon. People have gotten too lazy to cook and wash dishes. They'd rather eat at Hardee's or fix a TV dinner. How sad. If I go on a trip, I'd rather get me a cooler of RC's, a couple of boxes of Moon Pies, a big bag of potato chips, a loaf of bread, and a pound of good bologna. Who wants to eat at these places where the Mexicans and AIDS patients work? Not me or my family.

I use to work at the hospital here in LC, and it would flip most people out if they really knew how many people in LC have AIDS. I bet there is at least one person with AIDS at every eating establishment.

I quit going to Wendys because they NEVER got my order right, and didn't really care. The order taker mgr and cook ALL spoke english so that wasn't the problem. I told the mgr my order was always screwed up and it seemed that with all the other places to eat it seemed they would want to at least shoot for a higher success rate. She assured me they had plenty of business and me not coming back wouldn't hurt them! I couldn't believe she was saying that to a customer!I haven't went back in over a year and really hope they shutter the place.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Aries

One of the family needs plenty of love and attention today, but the trouble is that you may not be able to spare the time. If so, you'll be consumed with guilt and self-reproach, and this may become so strong that it casts a blight over the day. So do what you can to let them know you're thinking about them, but resist the temptation to berate yourself over things you can't change.
