If you have it in your home, it was on a truck at one time.

You sound like that bunch of Loudon City growth killers a few years ago when Loudon was trying to get that travel center. They were scared to death someone might actually have a reason to get off the interstate and spend some money in our city and heaven forbid something grow that didn't involve the dead a$$ area called downtown.

True, but also true there was probably lot lizards, illegal drugs, and male prostitutes in more than a few of those cabs. While there are a good many decent people who drive trucks, there also seems to be a disproportionately high number of dopers, ex cons, malcontents, and general dirt bags in that career. I look forward to to another truck stop in the area like I look forward to my yearly prostate check.

Good Morning! My name is Robin Dotson; I live in Lenoir City and I would be happy to share a friendly cup of coffee with anyone who is willing to discuss the trucking lifestyle.

You have a truck driver and his family living among you in the town of Lenoir City :) We are a home owning, tax paying, hard working and a drug free family with a 10 year old son in our local school district.

As with any industry; you will have your rotten apples. Random drug testing, electronic logs, dash board cams are all helping with keeping you and the driver safer on the road.

As for "fat" truckers; unfortunately they lead a lifestyle which restricts them to the seat for 14 hours per day and their choice of nutrition consists of mostly fast food options.

I'm sorry you have such a negative image of this industry; so I would love to talk with you or anyone to give you a broader; more up to date understanding of this industry.

Have a great day everyone!
If you bought it; my husband may have brought it :)

I couldn't agree with you more. I know a few truck drivers and all of them are hard working people. Most of us couldn't put the hours in they do. Keep on trucking. I'm behind you 100%.

Good post Robin.
Yes, I know truckers and I am also aware that most trucking companies have random drug testing, with a zero tolerance policy.

I also see many trucks on the road that have a decal on the driver's door which says "No lizards allowed".
Of course, the lot lizards (truckstop hookers) know not to knock on the door of that cab and wake that guy up.

There are bad apples everywhere, including at least one arrogant jerk posting here on LC Topix. I'm sure most do not take him seriously.

Jackass.

Most drivers I've seen climb down off a truck are wearing sneakers.

So, tell us your occupation.

If they all quit coming to your 'facility' how long do you suppose you would be in business?
