It's bad enough that Yale employees are going to lose their job and others around the state. Now Mr. Matlock wants to make sure they don't receive any help with his NEW bill 3431.

House Bill 3431 pertains to unemployment insurance.
After passing the House, the state senate passed it 32-0.
What's so horrible about it - which not one state senator noticed?

Jimmy is a good man that believes in all the values of traditional America. My family has done business with him for years. If you can do a better job from Salem Virginia, come down and do it. Otherwise, stay in forums where you know what you're talking about.

I guess the Union lobbyist & troll from Virginia, mad that unemployment compensation won't last for 400 weeks, has nothing else to say.

Good gawd, people. The city isn't always correct, it depends entirely on your ISP.

For the life of me I can not figure out why working people vote the current Republican party. If you are rich and want to stay that way (Matlock), fine, vote Republican. I don't blame you. Are you blinded by the social issues? Gay cooties, abortion, Jesus-ness...does that trump making a decent living, healthcare, or education?

I can't figure out why people, whether they work or not, like either party. One takes your money to pay poor people to remain poor. The other uses it to bailout companies like Goldman Sachs and drop bombs on olive-skinned people.
Then there's Obama who likes to do all of the above.

The city that shows for your location depends on which ISP you are going with. Some will show as local, others from out of town.

Then it also depends on how you connect to the internet. Some people have professional set-ups for tunneling due to work, school, etc.

Then it also depends on people working/visiting other parts of the country as they check in the Topix forums for their hometown and place of residence.

So there is bound to be a mix of locations without ever having to involve people that are not local.

The locally posted threads are likely only going to attract people from Lenoir City/Loudon, for the most part.

However, the news threads are going to have a mix of others, especially ones posted to multiple Topix forums. E.g., "Lenoir City/Sports/Religion" will post to "Lenoir City" forums, the "Sports" forums, and the "Religion" forums. The latter two being national forums that are wide open to all Topix users.

There could be several reasons a user in this thread would have a location shown as another state, but most of them tie back in to a fellow local's way of connecting to the internet.
