It would benefit us greatly if the DEA preformed their jobs effectively. They can limit the amount of FDA approved drugs the drug-makers are allowed to market each year. There is not a unlimited amount of these drugs that can dumped into the marketplace. The drug maker must present each year with a proposal and reason for an increase to the DEA. The DEA have in years past reduced addiction rates and removed certain drugs from the market after a few years of limited access to these drugs. The DEA is the only institution that has the authority to limit drug access to the public.

The local police will never be able to end this epidemic. It's a shame we now need our police to clean up after the DEA. Our house is not in order.

And forget medical marijuana, but a drug company is more than happy to bring their pure cannabis to the market. The consequences will be another punch in the gut to local law enforcement as a new addiction comes to the forefront. The pain centers will soon be swamped with the drug reps if they aren't already.

"so few pain clinics"??? Who's ingesting their clinics' supply of medication?? In my county, there are at least three in close proximity to each other. I would be more amused if this didn't affect so many people's lives. I hope that the conviction of Dr. Conrad Murray in Michael Jackson's death will cause people to view the role of pain clinics differently, particularly when there are records that the deceased was being treated exclusively in this kind of environment. I do know that there are certainly legitimate pain clinics-you just have to be a detective.

I am not surprised Tracy would open a pain clinic! If it makes money the Hawks will do it! They might as well open a methadone clinic next door! Not a fan of the Hawk family!

Yes, it is legitimate and yes, they will treat you well. Keep in mind though, your $250.00 money order pays for the office visit, not the prescription.

That is true. The $250 is only for the office visit.
Paying for all of the pills I ordered cost me a whole month's worth of EBT. But that's okay. I'm feelin mighty fine and not a bit hungry.

You can be cute and a smart ass all you want that's your perogative, but as I am the wife of a dear man who served his country well for over 25 years including an tour and half in Vietnam before being shot multiple times and sent home, I am going to comment. I hope and pray to God you or anyone you love never has to suffer chronic pain so badly, they pray for death because the pain is so unbearable! Try watching it while someone cries out because the covers hurt to touch their flesh! Unless you have ever been through any of that, you can't possibly know the depth of chronic , on going, constant tormenting pain! Yes, the prescription drug abuse problems have sky rocketed!! Many innocent people are forever damage because of it!! Do keep in mind however, to obtain prescription drugs to get "high" and obtaining prescription drugs to get a bit of "relief" from never ending pain is two different things, if you take medicine each day exactly as prescribed, the chances of becoming a drug addict is very unlikely! The pain levels go up and down on a daily basis, if you take the exact amount prescribed, the pain will be less on those days your pain levels are down and more on those days the pain levels are higher because the medicine dose is the same every day. Those ppl who take a few pills to get " high" will soon learn the same does to get "high" doesn't do the job anymore so they increase the amount to get the " high" they need, this goes on until they are taking handfuls to get the " high" feeling, eventually going to stronger medicines and higher doses as their tolerance levels get higher! My husband has had to switch pharmacies after 25+ yrs due to the negative remarks and nasty looks we endured every time we had to pick up his medicine, we were fortunate to have found one with compassion rather than "judges". If you asked my husband he would tell you it's not much worth all the hassle for that bit of relief, but then he wants to live!!! Not everyone that goes to pain clinics are abusers, some actually have chronic pain!! Doctors no longer will give them pain medicines in most cases because they are afraid to, the DEA might take their license, their lively hoods, I can understand their concerns . Maybe one day ppl will be more educated in things they don't understand rather than judge !!! Just sayin!!
