Opie tells me they should have been dumbfounded a year ago when the question was posed by Becky Watkins on her blog.
At least one comment from what sounded like it came from someone in city government made it look like she didn't know what she was talking about.
The boys on the board must be asleep most of the time.

Yes, Opie is bald now. Isn't it fun to see us all when we were young and good looking and life was simple and we had Sheriff Andy protecting us from Barney and his bullet. And it was the pipes above ground that we had to worry about. The good old days!

Though there may be no lawsuit pressing them now, Lenoir City Utility Board (LCUB) is nevertheless preparing for one.
City Attorney Shannon Littleton, who is also the assistant general manager of the utility board, was deemed by the board at Monday night's meeting to be essentially too close to the situation to handle potential legal action related to threats from the Wampler family to withdraw their company from LCUB-provided services. According to Family Brands International, LLC President John Edd Wampler, LCUB is charging far-too-high water and sewer rates for two of his family's businesses - Elm Hill and Wampler's Sausage Company - and the family is considering moving out of town in general to avoid paying 82 percent higher water rates and 88 percent higher sewer rates

Where's the Water?
by Becky Watkins
Since the LCUB Board of Directors appears to be more of a committee of formality seeing that decisions made by LCU Managment, Engineers, and Contractors are officially approved by the City's governing body; I wonder if they might have time to investigate what happened to the 329,607,922 gallons of water that was lost between June 30, 2009 and June 30, 2010 according to the 2010 Independent Auditors Report.

Keep on Keeping on Becky!
Maybe Wamplers' might know where the water went-odd coincidence? Or is this also conflict of interest?
Isn't there a Wampler on the Council? Is the Council the Boss of LCUB?

They dumped a bunch in my neighbors yard and flooded their basement a month ago. Guess they said LCUB still hasn't fixed the flooding.
