My choice is Brown. Having three kids in the system, I know our children is his top priority!

Before you saps get all teary eyed for Brian Brown, don't forget his wife works for the county school system. The same school system he wants to be on the school board for. His wife and her counterparts are already pushing for a big raise this year.

Sounds like another Ric Best, "I'm here to get my wife some more money" candidate.

Can we really afford another one of those?

It appears the only one receiving big raises is the director of schools. It would be interesting to see if teachers or nurses were given contract extensions when only in the job for a short amount time. Considering the state recommended salary for a director of schools ranges from 52,000-70,00...wow looks like the board had no problem spending 100,000 plus and even granted an extension. These things are also FACTS. One should consider all FACTS! Looks like someone with a little common sense should be appointed to the board.

You all are nuts! That's what politics is all about. Lying, cheating and favors. Everyone running has some interest in this race besides the poor little children or they wouldn't be in it. Just a stepping stone to greater elected positions for some, or their family members, or maybe another interest. Everyone of these candidates would be lying if they told you they just want to help the poor, undereducated, malnourished, impoverished, homeless, helpless, underachieving children of this county. Figure it out on your on. Politics is what it is......just that!

Brown isn't the only one with kids in the system, but he is the only one whose wife and HIMSELF works for the system.

Run down on school board members:

Johnson who also works for the county and wife works for Lcub.
Marcus, wife works again for the school system.
Newman, county employee.
Simon, wife works for North Middle.
Best, wife works for HIghland park.
Ubben, wife county commissioner.
Shaver, son county commissioner.
Jenkins, county employee.

Now Brown, another county employee and wife works for Fort Loudon Middle school. Yes Brown would be the best person if you want another Good ole Boy. Do you see a pattern here.

What county is Lenoir City and Loudon City located in? A portion of county money goes toward the cities. Get your facts stright.

What's the problem with Brian brown running for school board? Yes his wife works for the school system as well, but that shouldn't be a problem.. If you look at all of our school systems across the county, many of them have husbands and wives teaching at the same school or in different schools. There are also many family members that are working at the Central Office. I also have children that attend Loudon County Schools and some of the things that are going on in these schools need to be addressed! The conduct that goes on between staff members is not what needs to be going on in our schools! They are there to EDUCATE our children! Their PERSONAL lives and relationships need to be left and home! This kind of behavior DOES NOT NEED TO BE GOING on in front of our children! I think we need to be worried about situations like this instead of who's spouse works where....I am THANKFUL that we have nurses in our schools. Not only are they there to provide medical needs, but they are also counselors to MANY of these CHILDREN! Sometimes the Nurse is there just to give them a HUG if things aren't having a good day...I am THANKFUL that we have a WONDERFUL Nurse that takes care of MY CHILDREN! Thanks Nurse Brown, and with that I say ~ Brian Brown for SCHOOL BOARD!

Are you his mother? the problem with having a husband/wife on school board and spouse as an employee is conflict of interest. The school board member may be looking out for the spouses best interest instead of the school system as a whole.

That's some expensive hugs. It might be cheaper to let the parapros do the hugging.
