Good evening everyone,
We have a member of the Tennessee Libertarian Party wanting to run for a city council seat in Lenoir City but is a little uneasy about the idea because with his third party membership comes a stigma.
We were wondering if you could give us feed back on how you would feel about this young man running under a libertarian funded campaign.
Here is some things about him:
-He has conservative leanings (though can be socially liberal, belief in social freedom)
-Believes in small local government
-Minimal local business regulations
*note: only regulations needed is to support small business opportunity growth
-No new taxes (prove that taxes have to be raised if needed)
-Abolishing nepotism at city hall
-Starting a City 10 year plan for productive development (annex new areas that WANT to be in city)
-Creating local support programs for small businesses in the area to stimulate small business growth
Please tell us what you think and we mean it.

I vote for the person I feel is best for the job. Republican, Democrat, Independent, Libertarian or Cartoon Character...I don't care. I think too much is put into voting for one party and not in just getting the right person in office. If it's someone that can prove they can be trusted and makes me believe they will do a good job then they h ave my vote.

Tell your friend that EVERYONE is an independent in Lenoir City elections. The elections are nonpartisan. If he goes around sqwaking about his party here he'll be the only candidate doing so.

It's too late for anyone else to get on the ballot for the November election. The deadline aspassed.

So is your candidate a Ron Paul libertarian (small case L) who opposes abortion and favors securing the border and combating illegal immigration?
Or is he an open-borders, typical Libertarian Party (upper case L) anarchist?

We only know his city stances right now, his national stance are irrelevant at this time.
For a little bit of info Real Goose, the Libertarian party is like any other party, there are factions within the party with varying views. Yes, we have some members who believe abolish all government but he knows that is highly irrational. This resident of Lenoir City believes that LP Presidential candidate might bring in 1%-6%(6% we even feel is skeptical) with this light on the party he feels like he would have a better chance to win under the beliefs listed above.
He has an honest love for his city and wants to help the citizens better their lives.
