South Central PA is having one of the largest population booms in the United States, but yet no new infrastructure is being built to accomodate these new taxpayers. The accident on Interstate 83 yesterday where a truck killed a lady stopped in the normal backlog only proves the need for more mass transit. A network of regional rail and busses all working together is the answer. How many more commuters need to be murdered by PennDOT and the Commonwealth before something is done? I fully support viable options that take traffic off of our roads. New passenger rail lines, side by side with new freight lines, will take both cars and trucks off our our overcrowded highways. Unfortunately, the decisions to make this happen lies with those who have no concept of the need. We need new rail, and we need it NOW!
