Proverbs 4:14-27 NIV

Do not set foot on the path of the wicked
or walk in the way of evildoers. Avoid it, do not travel on it;
turn from it and go on your way. For they cannot rest until they do evil;
they are robbed of sleep till they make someone stumble. They eat the bread of wickedness
and drink the wine of violence. The path of the righteous is like the morning sun,
shining ever brighter till the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;
they do not know what makes them stumble. My son, pay attention to what I say;
turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them
and health to one's whole body. Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead;
fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet
and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.

MT 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

God bless you anyway. No one is willing to come to Christ by themselves, as it is easy to see here. Only God can make them willing.

"Only god can MAKE them willing?" What happened to your beloved theory of "free will?"

When will you realize that you can't have omniscience and "free will" at the same time?
If "god" KNOWS everything, then there are NO choices in life.
"He" knew you were going to go to "hell" even before you were born.

Christianity is so full of contridictions, it's absurd.

you are correct, there is a terrible contradiction in the bible, the one where God forgives sinners. any good judge will not let someone off the hook, yet God offers pardon freely just by believing in His Son. hows that for a contradiction?

Free will is somewhat of a farce the way it is taught. because your 'will' is only as free as your nature will allow. if you commit sin, it is because you can do no better because of your nature(which is fallen, which is why God must make you willing, hence all the rude comments thus far)

does a drunk have the 'will' to simply stop drinking? or the drug addict to stop cold turkey? can you go a whole day without breaking one single commandment?(the greatest commandment is to love the Lord thy God with all they heart, mind, and strength, and your neighbor as yourself. i can tell you that i am NOt able to do it. that is why we need Jesus, and also why we need Gods gift of faith just to believe that.

have a great day

"Freely?" Nay, you are paying a dear price for every moment you believe in superstitious nonsense.

If "god must make you willing," then your will is no longer free.
What part of that confuses you?

So you can see that your "god" sets you up to fail..so that you must buy your way back into its good graces with begging, groveling, praising and worshipping it.

Talk about manipulation. Look at the similarity to Battered Wife Syndrome:

(1) The abused woman believes the violence is her own fault.
Christianity says that "god is good" so any violence is humanity's own fault.

(2) The abused woman is unable to place the responsibility for the violence elsewhere.
Christianity says that humans are born flawed. Any problems are of our own making and therefore no one else is responsible.

(3) The abused woman fears for her life and for the lives of her children.
Christianity says a person can never be good enough to escape eternal punishment and only by begging and groveling for god's "mercy" can she and her family ever hope be safe.

(4) The abused woman has the irrational belief that her abuser is omnipresent and omnipotent.
Christianity says ...well...ditto.

I can understand why a male would like a patriarchal religion like Christianity, but I will never get why a woman would buy into such a self-loathing system that dispises females.

I had a great day, thanks. You have a lovely evening.

You are clueless, and it's obvious you have never had it explained to you, so I will give it a try. God doesn't force anything upon you. The quote someone said about God must make you willing is true, but it's not like that. The Holy Spirit is what draws you close to God. You must have that drawing you to become saved. It's not some huge God forces it on you deal, it's not. Anyone can accept salvation, it is your own FREE CHOICE. It in no way takes away your free will. You are obviously deceived. Seriously, God sets you up to fail? Everything is God's fault? You ever think it might be Satan getting in the way causing harm? God is just, and everything he does is right and meant to be. If someone is struggling through a tough time in their life then that's not God;s fault...nowhere is it said that life is supposed to be easy. And no, you aren't buying and begging your way back. That is every religion besides Christianity. The great thing about Christianity is everything has already happened, our sins are already forgiven, and we have no debts to pay; so you just seek God and you'll be fine. Also, everyone is born with a clean slate. But at the age you realize the difference between right and wrong, that is when you are held accountable. And yes, you are responsible for your actions. Any true Christian does not "hope" to be safe because they know for a fact that they are going to Heaven. It's not a maybe or a possibility, you either have your salvation or you don;t. And this begging you talk about doesn't exist. You admit you know you do wrong, you believe in Jesus, and you try and be a better person. It's as simple as that. Never have I ever begged and groveled for God's mercy. You are completely clueless about Christianity, and at this point I believe you are just throwing in random actions that you think take place. Lastly, I am a female. I have never felt like God has despised women. It's funny you point that out though, because there are several countries in this world where women are abused and they aren't Christian at all. Some churches are more extreme about womens rights but never would a woman be raped, abused, killed, or despised because she is a woman. Joyce Meyer is one of the greatest female preachers in the world today, and guess what..SHE'S A WOMAN.

I was raised in the Southern Baptist Church. Sunday School, church services and even Vacation Bible School. I've heard all the myths.
I've read and studied the bible, as well as other religions and their "holy books."

It's all superstitious nonsense. Wishful thinking combined with a large dose of fear of dying.
If you need to believe that BS to get you through the day, ok...but don't expect rational people to buy the fantasy.

Try reading the bible with your eyes and mind open sometime. ALL of it, not just the pretty stories the preacher talks about.
It is disgusting, contradictory, and ridiculous.

To those that believe, good for you. I just wanted to start a thread sharing some good news and good thoughts. I should have realized there would be those that FIGHT this goodness, that is the way of the ones with darkened hearts. I don't understand why they couldn't have SIMPLY passed this thread up instead of blaspheming.
WEL, you are correct, do not cast your parks to the pigs for they will surely trample them.
I'm not here to judge anyone who doesn't believe, I simply wanted to find like minded individuals to share the JOY of salvation. List payers of Thanksgiving, our ask fire prayers that may be needed.
There is no reason to argue.
None what so ever. You don't have to agree, no one made you read this thread, why are you rebuking it so strongly? I'm so very sorry if you had a bad experience as a child that turned you against the love of God, I TRULY am. That has to be a terrible feeling. I do not know what I would do if I felt that way. Many many bad things have happened to me, to ones I love dearly, but I've always felt and known the presence of the Holy.Spirit and known that Jesus is by my side and it is thru Him that my salvation frees me from the bondage of sin. His love helps me thru the dark days when I use the Shield to extinguish the flaming arrows. God's whole point in giving free will is so that nothing is forced upon us, we CHOOSE to love Him and obey the best we can. So see, there is no need to argue, if you don't wish to participate, that is your choice, but please don't mock me or anyone else who wishes to rejoice in this love and feel full from it.
I didn't start this for controversy. Presser don't turn it into it. I will not ever mock you or anyone else for not believing, and I won't sit here and say ” I'll pray for you” because that would be condescending. I will simply say this... Have a great day.
I love the fact that I have my true God to lead me, guide me, love me and find me. I'm thankful for so many things.
Yes there are contradictions in the Bible, MAN has changed and excluded some things over the years. But one thing that had been true and stayed true over these THOUSANDS of years... ONE MAN...ONE MAN one single man came to us to tell us to LOVE one another and love the ONE true God. That is what I choose to do along with MILLIONS of others.
Wether you wish to hear ” Well done my God and faithful servant” or ” Go from me I do not know you”, is your choice.
As I said, please do not turn this into a disrespectful argument, join in and share the love or ask for prayer, OR respectfully pass this thread up, for there are PLENTY of others to degrade people on or argue if that's what you wish to do.
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Thank you for respecting my choice and any others Who CHOOSE to do so. No one is making you read this except yourself, as we are all adults and make our own decisions.
Today I am asking those that believe to pray for a loved one of mine who is so very special to me, he is fighting cancer and so far has been blessed with an additional year to spend with his loved ones after being told her only had a very short time. Today he is having surgery, very risky and very important. He is very weak and fragile. I ask those who wishto, to lift him up in your prayers, his surgery is in the next few hours. I'm praying for those who are doing the surgery and caring for him. He knows the love of God and where he will be after all is said and done but isn't ready to leave all of his young children and wife just yet, but is grateful for the time he has been blessed with.
Thank you all. I will update this evening. Have a blessed day and keep your feet planted and ready.:)

Joyce Meyer makes over $1 million in salary. Not including her book deals or speaking fees which is upwards of $3 million.

Paid her husband (vice president of the cult)$450,000 per year.

Free use of corporate jets,$2 million home paid by the ministry.$50,000 a year housing allowance.

Ministry paid over $1.5 million for her 3 kids homes.

Keep's most her and pays very little in taxes or property taxes because everything is "owned" by the ministry.

See, this is one of those things about "faith" that makes no sense.
According to the bible, Yahweh is all knowing and has a plan (so "free will" is really just a delusion..but I digress) for everyone, even before they were concieved.
So whatever is happening to your friend is already decided...but you are going to ask Yahweh to change his mind, just for you?
And getting MORE people to petition Yahweh on your friend's behalf increases the chances that you will be heard?
"Faith" should mean that you "Trust." But you don't. You want it your way.

I sincerely hope your friend makes it. No one wants to leave their loved ones (although we ALL do eventually). I wish him well.

Very interesting. I guess she missed that part in the bible, 1Corinthians 14:34, where it says women should keep their mouths shut in church and be submissive to the men ....and, oh, Matthew 19:21,the part about giving up all your material possessions if you want to be a disciple of Jesus. "Give it all to the poor." Yeah, the Catholic Church ignores that verse also.

I DID NOT POST THOSE JUDGMENTAL POSTS UNDER IMPERFECT PERSON.
I signed imperfect person after what I typed under WWJD. And only the immediately following one under imperfect person, pointing out my typos. It should have said ” ask for” not fire.
I DO NOT say things like the other imperfect person poster did, to anyone, never would. I do not wish this on anyone. Those above words you mentioned were typos as I stated in the immediately following post this morning. They did sound bad, fire and pay... But not intended, just typos
I said they could be translated, sorry I will check better next time.
The feet planted and ready to fight the good fight, isn't in reference to people, but the evil, and temptations we face every day, mostly within ourselves.
I understand your point of view Witch in the Woods and that is your choice, I'm not trying to force anything on anybody. I'm not knocking on anyone's door, or calling anyone on the phone. Just putting this here for like mined people who wish to converse about it, NOT argue. I wasn't referring to anything posted as of yet, but for future reference.
I'm not trying to change the will of The Lord, I always pray for His will to be done. My prayers were for the doctors and nurses, people are people, their profession doesn't exempt them from having a bad day/morning, so maybe if one was, I prayed that their load may be lightened so they can give full attention and their mind focused on the procedure on him, which btw went well. Lord willing, he will have some more time :)
The other person posting as imperfect person is obviously not me, I don't know, just guessing here but maybe they have posted under that name before. I guess I will register so that doesn't happen again.
Thanks for being respectful and I am having a great day I hope you are as well.
Oh and I didn't mean that specifically for you, about the possible childhood trauma, I just know many who have turned away because of that, because they were forced to go when they didn't want to, was all I meant. I will come back later and register...until then :)
