And there is an example of the attitude most of "the system" exhibits toward parents, students etc.
Couldn't agree more. They forget it is us ignorant, pathetic factory workers and other lowlifes who pay their salaries. Never have I read or heard such arrogance in my whole life. This person is not a leader. He or she is just someone protected by tenure who thinks a formal education makes them better than anyone else. A truly educated person would have never made such a statement. An education does guarantee that you will be smart.

Like, OH. MY. GOD. You're just, like, jealous of Mr. Robinson because he, like, gets more girls and stuff. Don't, like, hate the player, like, hate the game. Haters make him, like, famous.

Yes you darn educators, didn't you know what you were getting into when you turned 18, went to college and were told to "pick a career". You "dumb" 18 year olds, I mean 40+ year old teachers. How dare you not have the forsight at 18 years of age!

Stop whining about the 6+ years you spent in college and the $50,000+ college loan debt! You have it easy. Other people get free tv, subsidized houses, food stamps, free phones, free healthcare, etc..but they don't have a career! They don't have a real job that they take pride in, wake up at 6am in the morning and go to work. Everyone loves to work!

I went to college to EARN healthcare insurance, now I find out they give it out for me. What a deal! Who are the smart people? The people who don't do anything, collect entitlements and blame teachers for their kids inabilities...or the dumb teachers who thought they were choosing the good fight. I'm starting to think the couch potatoes who do nothing and collect a check are the new "smart people" not having to work. Evolution in front of our eyes!

One does not need a degree in education to see that there are things fundamentally wrong in our local school system. The school system gets a significant portion of our property tax, a tax on utilities and so on. Considering that, citizens have every right to be "nit pciky" when an issue affects them.
Spare me the whining about wages, those who take education related jobs know what it pays beforehand, and that salary is generally far more than most jobs here in Grayson County.

Grayson County teachers make $4,000 per year lower than the statewide average for classroom teachers. Why would the best and brightest stay here? Ask your school board members about that.

Sorry no sympathy here, the average teacher's wage in KY is about 48K/year. So assuming your 4K figure is accurate, teachers here make about 44K, when the overall average wage in this county is about 30K. And they have a decent retirement system, unlike most of us who will probably just have to work until we die.

And, what good would it do to ask a school board member? They are all in his hip pocket and wouldn't dare question him. It's funny there is no money for teacher to get pay raises and books for the classroom but there is money to hire a marketing person, hire an assistant superintendent, give the superintendent a big pay raise and construct a new central office. School Board could care less.
