I believe they need to re-open, I would probably pay 9 dollars to see a movie just to have something to do around here! Who agrees?

"They" refers to the movie palace co. they own the rights to our theater and will not open because they want people to travel and visit Elizabethtown. They ave endorsements from companies in E-town.

Yes, Jim owns the theatre and he is very religious. I like his way of thinking which is somewhat along the lines of how we have all become desensitized to the horrors of life, and how good clean fun has taken a backseat.

The theatre needs a lot of work to run again. It has sat empty fir many years. Maybe if Jim where to know that the town is interested in clean movies he would be willing to renovate and reopen. Maybe.

Just to set the record straight, anyone and I mean ANYONE, can open a movie theater ANYWHERE in the city if you so desire. No one has a monopoly or rights to any theater here. Yes, Jim owns the one on the square, but if you want to open one on the bypass, be my guest.

Do they even play G rated films anymore?

Just another example of how the religious people here control Leitchfield.

I don't care if they have only g rated movies, it would be awesome to have a theater non the less. I would love to have a place to spend time with my kids. A movie theater of any kind would be great and earn my business, that's for sure. I am positive there are enough parents like me that feel the same. So, if you have money to open a business..it would be a wise investment!

Fill out an application from the City off of their website...if you get rejected let me know. You don't have to go before the city council to get a business license.

If you want to open a movie theatre, then do it. NO ONE IS STOPPING YOU!

I loved going to the movies at Alice Theater when I was a kid. My friends and I had a lot of good times there. A theater would do great in town, but not on the square. It is a terrible location and too small as well. A new building with better parking would do great. You wouldn't be able to keep the doors open showing only rated G movies, but I agree that the type of films shown should be closely monitored. Nothing over PG-13 for sure.

F*ck Dinwiddie and f*ck G rated movies and f*ck anyone who thinks this is a good idea. That place is run down and ancient. We need a brand new theater that shows all new movies.

I agree with hater and if they play all new movies it will make more money not just on G rated movies.
