I really do no appreciate them tossing our trash cans down on the ground. They have broken not just mine, but many of my neighbors as well. Does this happen to others?

Im sure they are in a hurry and don't have time to gently place every can on the ground. It's just a garbage can.

All you have to do is call the office and they will bring you a new garbage can. pull your shorts out of your butt an worry about real things in life.

It's a waste of a garbage can when they are careless like they are. Shouldn't have to deal with a broke can more than once a year. I take my time doing my job correctly in order to keep people satisfied, maybe they should change their route plans, manage a way where they won't have to rush so much.

If they are getting broke that often maybe you should get an old fashioned metal trash can. They might get dented, but won't break.

Tyler, I agree with you totally. And to the others that don't agree then they obviously don't give a s*** about the things that they buy. I work too hard for the things I buy and don't got the extra cash to keep buying new cans. I even had one made out of a big heavy plastic barrel and they took it. When I called city to ask why it was took, their reply was its not a garbage and it would fill up with water and be too heavy for them to lift. I'm not stupid....if I didn't have holes in the bottom then I wouldn't be able to take it out. Duh!!! And I'd like to what part of the town the person lives in that gets their garbage cans given to them. City has never supplied the ppl I know with one. So Tyler, Amen!!!

So, you "don't got" the extra cash? Oh, and you called to ask "why it was took"... Then you claim NOT to be stupid??? Wow is really the only appropriate response I have to that.

What I hate even more, are the dang things blown all over the road when it's windy. I almost hit one in the road last week. If I hit a trash can in the road, is the home owner responsable for any damage to my car?

I put out our old cans once when we bought new ones and even painted "take me" on the old ones. They never did. Finally took a sawzall and cut them up so they would take them.

First of all this thread isn't about garbagemen have a crappy job, or that garbage cans are cheap. It's about a people we pay doing a quality job & respecting our property. What if the mailman knocked over your mailbox everytime he/she delivered the mail. Would you be ok with that? After all it's only a mailbox. They cost about the same as a trash can. What if a metermaid walked through your plant bed killing some plants everytime he/she read your meter. We demand that these people respect our property & we should the garbage men as well. Doesn't matter who it is or how smart they are. This is a service we pay for, & we should demand that it's done correctly & our property is respected.

Another thing not related to the thread. Why is it that almost every thread on here comes down to calling people stupid or dumbass. Is this how you treat your neighbors face to face?
Agreed.
